This company very clearly doesn't value customer service at all. They don't take the time to pleasantly deal with the customer, I would opt for enterprise or another location because I was charged $75 for something I believed was $50. The representative failed to explain to me the damage protection was $25 a day. She told me it was $50 even though I told her I wasn't sure when I would be getting my car back. $50 and $25 a day is a huge difference. I'm just saying, if you want a good experience, this is not the place. Not to mention when calling to properly understand what I need to rent the car, she laughed, she hung up, I called back, she was very rude. After my car had been stolen, I needed a rental until I could get into a new one. I reserved a compact car, and was told when I arrived that their last compact had been rented and I was to upgrade to a midsize. Of course, at my expense. I returned the car a day early. I was told that the car smelled of smoke and that I would be charged a $400 cleaning fee. I am not a smoker, I never have been. So for there to be an odor of smoke is beyond ridiculous. I was told by the employee that not 1 but 4 of her coworkers were able to smell smoke in the car. Absolute bullshit. I'll be calling headquarters tomorrow to demand a refund for the the unnecessary cleaning fee. read more

The car was clean inside and out!! Much appreciated, the customer service from the two young ladies was superb. They were courtesy, patient and polite to every customer who entered the premises. They had to upgrade my car, due to they were out of compact cars. The ladies were efficient at their jobs. I enjoyed the fact the rental wasn't expensive. This place lacks PROFESSIONALISM! I had to get a rental through my insurance and I called to make sure everything was fine before I got there. The women who answer the phone are straight rude and their tone over the phone, they seem to just hate their jobs. The workers at this location lack good customer service skills. I called my insurance right away and asked to be changed to a different car rental . Luckily Enterprise is just across the street and I was taken care of by them. I've had to call over for some help regarding my rental from Brentwood as the location closes at 12 when I called Antioch who ever picks up the phone never acts professional nor helpful. I've had to call the Concord and walnut creek location they excellent phone manner. Antioch is unprofessional nd rude as hell . The staff here seem pretty miserable. after having my car totaled in the middle of the night I was given a reservation for this location. I called the location to inquire if there were vehicles available and was told yes, and to come in right away if I didn't want to wait for other vehicles to arrive and be cleaned. I arrived within 40 minutes and was told by the front desk that there were no cars available and that I didn't call the right location. After confirming the phone number of which I did call I was told that no cars would be available for 40 minutes. The woman working the counter was both rude abs demeaning. Rented a car in Riverside 9 AM and by 10 AM I was on the freeway heading back to the bay area. I was hoping to return the car by 4 PM to the Antioch site. Just to avoid any hassles of trying to return it the next morning before work. I tried calling as I knew I was going to be about 15 minutes late due to the traffic on the freeway. I didn't get through and got bounced back-and-forth to different phone cues. As I pulled up and got to the door, the young lady was about to close up and she had the nicest smile. I told her that I really tried to get her by four and am I still able to drop it off. She greeted me with the nicest Chester and reassured me that "you're good". I ran back to the car to get my backpack and other things and she had yelled as I was jogging away, no need to rush I'll wait for you. I thought that was pretty cool. I grabbed all my things and made sure I didn't leave a huge mess in the car. Walked back to the door and it appeared that the cage and security gate we're already in place. She was waiting for me there and she asked for the keys and that was it. Super easy and helpful process. I really appreciated that she waited for me even though they were closed and she was ready to go home. I know how it is to have a long day and Trying to close before the next customer shows up LOL. This young lady didn't have that attitude and was very kind. There was another lady who was just a bit older who was letting me know that she has to lock the parking lot gates and my Uber driver would not be able to see me or go up into the parking lot. To give this place negative stars would be wonderful...I spoke with the manager of this location at a different store and specifically asked him if they need my credit or debit card for any reason, he said no so I felt relief. I show up at this location stating there's a vehicle on hold for me I admit I was feeling frustrated and very upset the moment I walked in, I wasn't greeted or felt welcomed in the woman at the front counter tamara I believe was her name was giving me rude behavior! I had called my insurance company to verify claim number for them to look up and of course tamara was still being a little rude, I then was bout to give info when she demanded for my credit card for the hold! Let's go back to the first paragraph that stated I don't need to put my credit card down per facility manager...hmm so she calls me a liar...hmm then I got pissed hit the counter I was upset. Her rudeness kept getting worse I call my wife to help out with cc hold and the hertz employee starts raising her voice to me telling me she can't use hers cuz she not on the policy. ..of course she is and I don't need for you to raising your voice to me while I'm on the phone! I always have problems at this location. The staff is very unprofessional and don't have any customer service skills. If you need a rental car pass this place up unless you want to be bamboozled. First of all the lady in the office Tamara is rude all she kept saying was Im the only person that can drive the car and I'm fully responsible if something happen . I went to return the car on Friday I was never advised it had to be back by a certain time in order to receive my full deposit back. The guy told me at the time of returning it that they didn't have to tell me the time but I don't rent cars all the time and I wasn't given any papers stating the return time. Now almost 2 weeks later I noticed a charge for gas on my credit card statement which if the car lacked any gas which it didn't the car was over a full tank they should've charged me at the time of returning it. Is there was a negative five I would gladly give it to this places, after I drop off the car everything was good, got home 2 days later I was charge an extra 620$ when it was supposed to be 243$ for using it an extra 9 days 9x27=243 and in the claim they said I smoked in the car which clearly I didn't number one reason I have Asthma and 2 I hate paying extra fees but the fact that they charge me 400$ extra pretty much all for something I did not do. I had a rental in which there was concern for smoking when I wasn't smoking in the car, so she very rudely told me she could take the real back and charge me $400 for smoking, or I could extend it an extra day to clean it and avoid the smoking charge, which is what I decided to do because she was so adamant that I had smoked in the car when I did not. Brought it back the next day and could hear her talking about me under her breath before proceeding to come back and tell me they'll be charging the smoking fee still. So what was the point of telling me to extend it an extra day? I would have save money turning it in early and getting the smoking charge. I let them know it would be disputed in which her and her other coworker very passive-aggressively tried to tell me all the ways it wouldn't work (which my bank is amazing so if I dispute ima get my money back no matter what, every time) and that they have pictures of *ashes* and *weed* "everywhere" when I took pictures too for this exact reason. The car was clean and it did not smell when I returned it, and she also gave me shit for wiping the car down with disinfectant wipes? Like covid is a thing right now.... germs are a thing and that was just an act of courtesy. Do not rent from here, they just want your money and do not care how they treat their customers. I had recorded the entire convo during the first and second times I tried to drop off and took my pictures as well; it will be disputed because I did not smoke in the car; especially considering it was dirty when I had picked it up.
