We were visiting from out of town and he assured us that there were electric chargers everywhere and gave us an electric car. Seems we fell victim their ploy: we made a reservation online, showed up to pick up the car and were told there was no car available. Then, the oh so helpful (not!) employee did absolutely nothing to help us. We had been in a car accident and our car was totaled so we needed a car. We asked when they might have one available and they didn't seem to be able to figure out when that might be. Finally, they told us it would be over a week before they would have a car available. This can't be a Covid thing. It's way beyond that. This is what they do. In some cases, they'll take payment upfront and not refund the customer, so at least we got lucky in that regard. read more

Do not rent here. Pre-paid the whole rental cost and confirmed my reservation days beforehand, then at the time of rental they have no vehicles and didn't provide any options or upgrades. Essentially, they're more than willing to leave you stranded by overbooking imaginary vehicles. Had to go to another Hertz to actually get a car and my money back from them (they also didn't offer a refund on-site at this location). Plenty of other locations in the area - take it from me that the extra legwork is worthwhile. This location is one business bureau inspection away from closing and your time is precious. read more

I booked a car to visit my grandmother in the hospital, and when I got to hertz I was told the car wasn't available because I didn't book 48 hours in advance. My fault for not predicting my grandma would have an emergency and end up in the hospital! I understand companies have their policies, but I find it horribly inconvenient that no one from hertz called me to let me know the car they had "reserved" for me 24 hours ago was no longer available -- had they given me a heads up or a call to let me know they couldn't hold their end of the deal I wouldn't be giving 1 star. I spent about $20 on an Uber to get to hertz only for the worker to tell me that my car wasn't actually reserved. When I asked why they didn't just call me ahead of time he just shrugged his shoulders and said reservations made within 48 hours didn't actually mean I would get the car. Dumb af read more

Hertz descended from The #1 best rental car company, to bottom of the barrel in not many years. Don't blame Covid. That's not the problem. Every rental car company is suffering. No, Hertz obtained rock bottom status months before we didn't really need rental cars anymore. Uncaring bored employees seem the norm if you can find one. Dirty high mileage cars. No management discretion perks for frequent renters. Disorganized returns. One unpleasant experience after another. No more and so sad because OMG what am I going to do with all my loyalty Gold Points?! Another decent company bleeds out. I got into an accident and needed a replacement vehicle for over a month. My insurance company set me up with this location of Hertz. I took an Uber there and arrived just at 8:00 when they opened (I needed to get to work) and I was immediately greeted by a friendly face of an employee there. They were super helpful and kind and got me all set up with a nicely maintained, clean car within 20 minutes. As I was waiting, I witnessed several interactions with the employees and customers and they were knowledgeable, professional and kind. One of the employees was training the other and they both still had time to get everyone taken care of quickly. I'm a recruiter so I notice these things and I'll admit it- I was really tempted to try and recruit these two! Today I called because I needed to extend my rental and again received the kind, knowledgeable, courteous service I received when I first went in. Of course I hope I don't need a rental again anytime soon but if I do, I'll be going to this Hertz location. read more

Coordinated with my insurance to get a Hertz rental car while my car was in the shop after an accident. The Hertz employees not only came to pick me up from home, they also waited for me when I was running late and needed to walk my dogs really quickly before leaving, and then when I stupidly forgot my wallet, they drove me back to get it and even stayed open past close to make sure I got my rental car and was able to get to work. Had a three day reservation with a confirmation number and a guaranteed rate--showed up to be told "Our reservations are worthless when we don't have any cars". Pretty sure that makes the entire reservation process worthless... Asked what they look to do to make it right and was told "Nothing". Really aggravating as I simply cannot understand why they make reservations when they don't have autos. When reading their rules and conditions, we found out that if you're past an hour of reserved time, they will not hold your reserved vehicle. We ended up with a layover of 4 hours. My daughter called 13 times with no answer. Went online multiple times. We finally found out that if you cancel within 24 hours of pickup, there's a $77.00 fee!! We were pissed!! I really did like the vehicle that I was given but the cleanliness was really bad. Horrible policy, UI, and customer service. I made a reservation (successfully) with my credit card for my boyfriend's name and got confirmation email weeks in advance of our Austin trip. When we arrive at the counter, the reception says the reservation is under my name because my credit card is used and my boyfriend has to be added as an additional driver with additional fee. We received NO reminder or warning whatsoever when we booked the reservation and they say we cannot change credit card because it was paid in advance (since when did "pay in advance" become something wrong?) The reception at the counter refuse to modify the reservation for us and insisted on charging almost $100 MORE (on top of the $300-400 we already paid) for additional driver, as if it was our fault that Hertz didn't give us warning in the booking page and even sent us successful confirmation email (under my boyfriends name) after. Very terrible experience. Terrible customer service. AVOID them. read more

Cancelled my reservation and left me a voicemail the evening before, which I didn't see as happens a lot. They didn't bother to follow up to be sure I got the message. I also got an automated email confirmation that same day from Hertz yet NEVER got an email cancelling my reservation. So all they did was leave a voicemail and figured that was good enough. They were most unhelpful when I arrived and told me it was cancelled. Offered no help. Seemed annoyed when I pressed them to try other locations, anything. I ended up calling another rental agency while still in their office. Didn't offer to call me a taxi to a competitor office. Nothing. Also I didn't realize when I reserved with them that they are the company that will literally get customers falsely arrested for stealing the car when Hertz has lost the car. We made our reservation A MONTH in advance and less than 24 hours before we are supposed to pick up our rental and as we are going to the airport they call to tell us they are canceling our reservation and that they have no cars. And to top it off we are not automatically getting a refund. You have to call some number and sit on hold forever to get refund for something they screwed up. Local Branch on training wheels. This is my second time renting from Hertz this year. Hertz is my company's preferred car rental company. After this I'm just out; I can't justify renting from them anymore. Both cars I've rented were old 20k+ miles plus. Generally I thought cars here were supposed to be under 10k, relatively new. Okay so first check in took forever, about 10-15 minutes for paperwork, even though I have gold membership and it should all be expedited and in their system already. Then I asked to add a second driver, where at no point was I told I would be charged extra. So I got charged after I returned the car. Did you know that if you have AAA membership that fee gets waived? I have AAA membership, but at no point was I asked to present it or was there an extra fee mentioned. It's such a nickel and dime show now; forget it. I'm going to Turo or another agency, Budget, Avis, etc can get me the same car for cheaper forget Hertz. read more

My car was totalled and I needed a car while I looked for one. The before day I'm going to buy one the rental car said there was an engine malfunction and the car reverted to fwd. that was ok I was going to return it the next day no problem. But while I was on the way to return it the car started staying low oil pressure and stopped working. On top of that, I was on hold for almost ten minutes to tell them I needed someone to pick up the car only them to tell me I have to wait for someone to get to the place before they can send anyone out. I know they're busy but they need more employees. I've had this car a little over a week and I haven't do anything extreme in this car just driving to and from classes. This is a first for me when it comes to car rentals, but I do have to give this office 5 stars because literally everything went the way it should have been. I had made reservations in advance through Expedia. When picking up the car, I came in about 30minutes ahead of time to get the paperwork sorted. I took insurance through Hertz as well. My car was still being washed at the time, so as soon as they were done, I was on my way out. Staff was friendly as well. The total amount due that was quoted when I got the keys was accurate, since I brought it back on time and with a full tank. Security deposit was refunded after 2 business days. Everyone was nice and helpful, the car was clean and ready to go, and the facility is clean as well. Unlike the airport locations, this one only charges you for the gas needed to fill up the tank! DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. Rent from the airport location instead. We've rented from Hertz's before and have had a fine experience. This satellite location has an incompetent manager in training who was so rude to us on pickup. We paid through our Chase card which includes car insurance, and he told us he needed to see our Chase bank account information to confirm. I've NEVER heard of this.. we usually just waive the insurance and go about our day. His requests seemed fictitious and not part of policy. After pick up we had a few questions about extending our rental. Not only did this manager give us the wrong information and send us in circles, but he kept hanging up on us because he couldn't answer our question. On drop off, they were supposed to be open until 4 but closed early as they weren't there at noon when we dropped off the car early. Apparently the airport and satellite locations use 2 different systems, and the airport is much more professional.
