Someone rear-ended me and I had to rent a car from these POS's, they sold me an insurance package when I returned the car which I did not need of course because my insurance company was taking care of the issue. Moving forward they charged me $900 when returning the vehicle and now I cannot get a human on the phone to talk to get a refund. They also tried to charge me for damage and every other day they've been trying to charge my credit card they can charge my credit card, but they won't give me a refund? Finally talked to someone and said that the refund was in process and still no $$ They are lucky that I have not gone down there and cause a total scene and go public with them. Unbelievable!! No stars. I needed a rental due to an accident in which I was not at fault but was injured And vehicle had to go to the shop. I selected Hertz out of three options for a rental vehicle due to lower daily fees, in case the rental ran longer than expected. I didn't want to be hit, lose my car AND have to pay out of pocket for interim transportation on top of it. When I went in, to Hertz I explained this was though an insurance claim. He pulled up my rental and started offering me all sorts of insurance to cover the vehicle at a daily cost to me. I confirmed that my insurance was covering it as well as being claimed on the other drivers' insurance and I didn't want to pay out of pocket. He kept explaining the different options, at a daily fee to me. I listen to several more options I just declared I didn't want. We get through that hump, though he clearly didn't listen to a word I said. He takes my ID and debit card, swipes for the $65 deposit, then loads up a screen that says "I have read and understand the terms and conditions." I explained I hadn't received a copy of anything to look over yet. The clerk doesn't say a thing. Turns around. grabs a brochure opens it all the way, holds it up, about two and half feet across, flips it around to show the other side and says, "front and back." And thrusts it at me. He was not polite. He was not accommodating. He was not listening. He was not interested in providing good service. I told him I was not doing business with him. I can't imagine having to deal with that guy for the entirety of my rental term. What a nightmare I anticipate that being. I left and went to a competitor. They treated me like gold and didn't once try make me pay extra daily fees for anything. $50 deposit, keys and put the door. Hertz, this guy has to go. Overview: this location will scam you for extra charges you explicitly said no to. I do not recommend, and you should use at your own risk. My husband and I got a rental through our insurance Statefarm after a car accident. During the initial rental process, we told the agent at the store we didn't need any extra insurance or wavers, since we were renting through Statefarm and had full coverage. There's three or four different waver options for extra insurance, and we declined all. Signed papers and got the keys, etc without any issues. When we returned, the agent informed us we owed almost $600 because of the extra insurance waver we signed for. We argued that we did NOT agree to any, but ultimately he wouldn't let us leave without paying. I told him I would be contacting customer support. Customer support offered me a 50% refund, but I said that was not good enough, we didn't agree to the charges to start with, Im not going to pay half of a charge I never agreed to. I asked to speak to a supervisor, they said the supervisor would call me back. Which never happened. Multiple calls later, most of which was spent on hold with no supervisor, the supervisor reneged to the offer of 50% refund and said they couldn't help me and that the $570 charge would stand. I've now disputed the charges with my bank. read more

The receptionist stated that we coils drive to an alternative location in Aberdeen which is two hour drive away to pick up the car. We were disappointed and luckily enterprise had cars. read more

This had to be the worst experience I've had with a rental car company. I usually use Hertz when looking and this was my first time using this location. I should have paid more attention to the other reviews, but I thought I knew best. I made a reservation for a vehicle for a pickup at 9. I arrived at 930. After waiting in line for a bit they realized they had no cars available (even though there were plenty in the lot). I was told that cars would be ready at 11 and they would give me a call. I told her that I caught an uber here and would be wasting a lot of money going back and forth so she recommended a browse a furniture store down the street for a hour and a half and wait for the call. At about 1130 I had to give them a call for them to tell me that everyone extended their reservation. I asked why they couldn't call and tell me, why did I have to call them. My question was ignored and said that more cars would be in at 1. I waiting until about 120 and had to call them again to get hung up on and not answer my call back. read more

I rent from this Hertz a few times a year. The staff, Teresa in particular, is helpful and the cars clean and well-priced. The one time, I had an issue with a car that had mechanical issues while I was driving it, the staff was apologetic and immediately put me in another car with an upgrade. read more

We accidentally left a pair of prescription Ray Ban sunglasses in the sunglass holder after a 24+ hour trip and when I called I was told by an employee that they dispose of items left in cars if people do not call within a couple of days. Our contact information was on all of the paperwork and we could have simply been given a call. They also did not have the vehicle my fiancé reserved, even after he called twice about the reservation after making it. Very disappointed with the customer service at this site. We pre arranged to rent a car while in Silverdale. Pre-paid for it. Had a 5 PM appointment to pick it up. Got lost and arrived at 5:10. Locked up, nobody there. Called this AM and was told we close promptly at 5. Why would they schedule our pick up if they would be closed??? The woman on the phone said she would call me when something came in. You can't trust the people at this Hertz. I returned my car with a little dirt in the cup holder and they charged me a $400 smoking fee. When I talked to the store manager, she confirmed that was no smell of smoke in the car and had just assumed I was smoking because she thought the dirt looked like ash. So then I called Hertz's national customer service line and they said that the manager had indicated a smell of smoke in her records and they refused to reconsider or investigate further. So basically, the store manager lied to me and Hertz pocketed my $400. It's a pretty nice racket they have there. If you're thinking about renting from Hertz because it's cheap, just add $400 to the price and ask yourself if it's worth all of the hours on the phone with customer service that you'll never get back in your life. read more

I booked a car just over two weeks ahead of time of wanting it, and paid for most of it in advance (as much as they'd let me). The day came to pick up the car, and I remember parking there to go into the office that it looked strange that there were no suvs out there, as that's what I booked. And I was on time, at 3:00 which I also commented about timing not usually being that perfect. Going inside, the lady was very apologetic but they didn't have any car for us and that she had been meaning to call me to let me know. Well, she didn't and here we are. This rental was to be used as a celebratory road trip as my wife had suffered half way through her chemo treatment. The lady did call Enterprise to see if they had any cars, and they did. Thank god for a good rental car company! When I asked for a refund of my pre-payment, the lady there couldn't even see that I had paid anything and suggested I call customer service and "hopefully they'll give you a refund without penalties and fees". Yes, that is what she said.. I called them and the agent there was at least good and would give me a full refund within 2-3 days. Meanwhile, we rented a car from Enterprise. I wrote a post about this whole deal at that time and Hertz customer service did contact me but kept asking for the receipt from Enterprise. I refuse to give them information about business I conducted with their competitor as that's none of their business. It was made clear to me that they needed that to give me any further financial compensation, I told them that I never wanted any money except a full refund of what I had already paid. Now, to continue the story.. my refund got posted to my credit card, exactly, to the cent, of what I prepaid MINUS $100.00. What in the entire fudge cake, is my response and contact customer service again and again they claim they need my receipt from Enterprise. I am about to blow up at this point, what the F-word does my interactions with Enterprise have to do with you refunding my money that I paid for a service that you completely failed to deliver or even inform me before the time had come to start using the service. If anything, you should pay me extra for wasting my time and gas to get to your office location. I was told, after expressing the above in not so many words, that they'd look into it and get back to me. This time, I am copying this text to make it easier for me to re-post if/when the post vanishes again. If I could review this place without giving any stars I would. The numbers of issues this place has, where do I start? I made a reservation online, in January, for a large suv I needed in March. I wanted to make sure what I reserved was what I needed so I also went by the location to speak with them in person. I explained I have a 3rd row suv but I wanted something larger for my trip. The manager, Joe, said he thought an excursion or suburban would be what I needed and I agreed. 2 days before my scheduled pickup I got a call from the office verifying I still wanted the premium suv. The day I'm scheduled to pick up the car I show up at noon and am told I get an explorer. I told them that isn't what we discussed and i needed them to get the car as promised. Joe wasn't on site, but i was told he'd call me and they would find me the car I needed. I was told she would call around. Hours passed without an update. When I called back I was lied to about where the manager was. They said he was at a different location but when I called there they had no idea where he was. Finally 1 hour before local location closed he called me, yelled at me and said he didnt ever promise a specific car. After going back and forth they hung up on me. I called the Hertz in Tacoma and they had a car they could give me. While I was at the Tacoma location being helped the bremerton location tried calling about them taking my reservation, probably trying to stop them from helping me. I ended up paying almost twice as much than my original price quote. I also requested a call from their DM and never heard anything. If you're renting a car do yourself a favor and drive to Tacoma to get one. read more

While we did make a "last minute" reservation at 8 AM to pick up a car at 4 PM, the reservation went through and stated that there was a car available for us! We drove all the way down to Bremerton just to have the lady say that they had no more cars available (sounds awfully similar to the review below). When I asked her why she hadn't bothered calling us to let us know to save a trip, she said that she couldn't find our phone number in the reservation. Absolutely ridiculous. Warning, the deals may sound good but be prepared for employees to lie to your face. We needed a car for my husband to get to work after a car accident and this place was given to us by our insurance. It sounded great until we talked coverage. The man showed us the different coverage plans and then gave us the total for it all. I thought it was too high and told my husband to go for the coverage under full. He asked the man who went on saying our insurance REQUIRES full coverage and he just needed to show us the others but in reality we weren't allowed to get them. My husband called our insurance later and asked if this was true to which they replied that we don't even need ANY coverage. The car was a good fit for me tall husband and according to him a good-decent drive. Overall this has been a disappointing experience and one time has been more than enough! read more

We made a reservation 2 weeks out for a vehicle with AWD because we were going over Snoqualmie pass with snow conditions and we even called a week prior to confirm. We received a call on Friday at 450pm saying our reservation for Saturday the next day couldn't be warranted. We called again Saturday morning just to learn this place completely sucks and the lady was full of excuses. They have 4 cars on the lot that need oil changes and insurance claims take priority of people that actually plan ahead and wanted us to drive to Federal way an hour away to pick up the vehicle then hung up on us. Thank goodness Enterprise is right down the road and they were Johnny on the spot about helping us and getting us the AWD we needed for the weekend. I'm surprised this Hertz is still in business after ready all the negative reviews because they are very true. You'll notice the "owner" will reply with the same sorry ass reply on all the negative comments. Do yourself a favor and just book with enterprise. read more

Hertz' business practice is deceitful and uncaring. I reserved a car through Expedia for 1 day for Jan. 23 to 24 for my son, who was visiting me from overseas on his military leave. On Jan. 23, when my son and I went to pick up the car, the Hertz clerk told us that we were returning the car 2 days later. I told her I had reserved it for 1 day. She said that their office is closed on Sunday, so we could not drop off the car until Monday. The online confirmation and the itinerary clearly indicated 24 hour drop off and the rental duration was 1 day. We had to get the car and get going; we did not have time to go look for a car at another rental company at the time, so we had to (we were forced) to rent the car for 2 days. Whoever the employee Alex is should start taking responsibility for his mistakes. I have been a Gold member since 2007 and have been saving my points for years. I rent cars from Hertz for leisure, not business, so the points are not easy to accrue. I rented a car online with 5,500 points for a one week full size rental at this Bremerton office. First Alex called and said he didn't have any car for me, then later he said he got one in. I couldn't get my flight into Seattle for that day and had my husband call Alex to cancel the reservation. My points were never put back into my account. I called and talked to Alex and first he said there was no record of it. Then he said my husband didn't call to cancel it. My husband went in personally to talk with him. He said there was nothing he could do about it and to call the Gold desk. They informed me there was no record of it. Hertz In Bremerton Washington is a joke! We have had several bad experiences with them over a year's time. The first one was when we reserved a Large SUV and when we got there the lady at the front desk said "Oh we messed up, you should call and check on our work". Then we checked the receipt and we were charged for the Large SUV when we were given a much smaller sized car. Needless to say we complained. It is NOT is our job to stay on top of them! Me and my wife said ok we will try them again and tried renting a FULL SIZE car from them for 9:00 am on a Tuesday morning. When we arrived to pick up our car, the Manager at the counter said they had NO cars for us to use! They asked if we could wait two hours, as if I had nowhere to be! My appointment would not allow me to wait. If we could wait, I would have reserved it at a later time! Then they put us in a car and drove us 31 miles out of our way and gave us a downgraded class of car (which the Manager at the counter said was an UPGRADE)!! I will NEVER use Hertz again and I would hope none of you do either. read more
