Company told me I had to buy their coverage package for a rental that was covered under insurance due to an accident, and then charged me for it after I already gave proof that it was under my insurance. They lied saying they didn't have declaration of coverage after my insurance Agent had already talked to them/ sent the paperwork over. This the second time they pulled Money out of my account for the rental. If I do not get refunded, I will be going to my bank, filling a claim/disputing the charge as well as filling a police report. These people are scammers! ADD ON TRIED TO GO TALK TO THEM BUT THEY SIMPLY REFUSED TO GIVE MY MONEY BACK SO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THEM!!! read more

Charged me 400 cleaning fee after I had it detailed prior to drop off. Kept deposit also of 200. Wouldn't explain the charges. Front desk man changed rate at pick up to nearly 400$ more than originally agreed upon. read more

Online customer service is non existent. My State Farm agent made online reservation for delivery. The text response was not helpful. Couldn't get a rental for three days and they said I have to contact a local office for delivery and then ignored me. They suck! They get no stats from me. read more

Someone backed into my car about a month ago and the insurance company finally got back to us so we had to go to this place. So they wouldn't let us use my dad's card to pay for it so they reimburse the money since we're not on the same insurance company. And he told me $50's had to be put on my card and then right as we were nearing the end he said "oh yeah, I totally forgot but since it's being put on here, we have to have $250, wait no, $280" also that was all the money I had on my card. The idiot didn't know what he was doing, I would not recommend this place at all. He didn't know how to do his job at all. This is some bullshit. UPDATE: so the guy that took care of us the one day (awful person didn't do his job right) they charged even more to my card then $280, they charged $289 AND THEN AN EXTRA $44! If I could give less than 1 star, I would. This was my first time ever renting a car, and if I can help it, I never will ever again. To start, whatever price they give you on the phone- yeah prepare to double or triple that number when it comes time to swipe your card... and then get extra charged as the days go on. Whatever card you use- don't expect to be able to use it again for the next week or so after your rental is returned. I called in advance for a 4 door sedan, and was told I was getting comparable to a corolla for an $87 two day rental + a $200 deposit that would be refunded to me immediately after. I got there and was offered something similar to a Prius. I was able to get something barely bigger but still in the same "small" category, because if I wanted anything even slightly bigger (you know, like the size of that corolla they originally offered), I would have to pay extra. Then, the registration part began.... while I'm expecting to pay $287 like I was told over the phone, I ended up being charged just under $400 in the office with a credit check. $400 for a TWO DAY rental, when I was told it would be $87 for the two days with a $200 deposit. I bit the bullet and just dealt with it, I was on a time crunch and needed the car. The car itself was nice, the grill was covered in bugs, but the interior was clean. I returned the car on Sunday, earlier than my expected/contracted time, and with more gas than what I was given initially. The next day I check my bank and there is an additional charge on my card for $121 along with the almost $400 they charged me to begin with! Apparently there's another charge they don't tell you about when you rent on the weekends- if you return your car on a Sunday, they charge you the amount for a full day as if you were to keep it on Monday as well! My husband called Hertz immediately after they opened and they said they were processing the refund right away. So here I am, watching my bank have $500 pulled out on Monday morning, credited back later in the day... AND THEN ALL OF IT DRAWN OUT ALL OVER AGAIN ON TUESDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks to Hertz, I can't use my debit card/bank account until who knows when because everyday they're either crediting or withdrawing $500. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We reserved a truck to move a bunch of boxes. When we arrived to pick it up, it was perfect and exactly what we had reserved. We kept the truck and additional day and they were kind enough to waive the extension fee, which was a very nice gesture. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience. read more

Made a reservation a week in advance. I called before they closed on Saturday to confirm I will be getting a full size vehicle comparable to an Impala. Plenty of room for four adults. I get to the store at 730 and was told only a Chrysler 200 is available which on Enterprises website it's considered a standard. I went through Hertz only for the impala. Now we have to go back right before we are leaving to exchange the small car for a Camry. Not comparable to an impala at all more comparable to a Malibu. Very disappointed especially since I called and to double check again they would have an impala. I will be going back to enterprise. read more

Not giving the 5 stars. I'm a Hertz gold member when I arrived showed my ID and was giving keys which was great everything was ready. I did the walk around didn't find anything. When I got in the car I noticed I didn't have a full tank of gas but my contract showed full. Had to go back inside to have them fix the paperwork. read more

We had always been an Enterprise client, but until recently when no cars were available for an urgent issue, we rented a car at Hertz. The staff picking up were very nice, but the car wasn't ready for us. We waited while they quickly washed the outside of the car, but didn't clean the inside. In order to depart right away, as it was a very hot summer day and we had a 2 and 5 year old in the car, we left. Upon return the agent wanted $300.00 smoking fee when no one had smoked in the car. The agent would not take this charge off the bill, no Branch Manager was available as right before closing. We called the #800 for Hertz and notified them of the situation, yet the charge remain on our bill until our credit car company address on our behalf. Please remember Hertz how to listen to customer and always ensure the car is washed inside and outside to not burden the next renter. Best of luck improving your client service to improve. Got into a car accident two days ago. My insurance company set up an appointment for me to get a car with them. Wanted to pay with my debit card from Old Second national Bank which is the actual debit card connected to my checking account. They said was not valid did not offer to help me in any other way other than having a credit card which I do not have. And they wouldn't even figure out what the problem was. Had an issue last year with them two. I will never use then again and I will tell everybody else not to use them ever also!! Very bad business read more

Rented a car 2/20/2020 for a road trip to Cali. Prepaid through noon on 4/1/2020. Was told no security deposit if prepaid. Upon pick up, $200 security deposit hold was put on my card. Spent nearly 45 minutes waiting for the guy to type in all my information, patiently waiting as he discussed his kid and grand kids stopping the process. Check out the car, keys in hand. Asked the process for returning car on 3/1 since this office is closed Sunday. Showed me drop box, explained where to park, etc. Guy says if I can get it returned a day early, they'd be able to get it cleaned for rental agin Monday AM and I'd be refunded the day I didn't use, said it would be a real help for their facility. No promises but I'd try. Got to Cali late, late Monday, attended my business meetings (my husband doesn't like to fly, that's why we drive. My company would gladly put me on a plane!), head back home Thursday afternoon. After 40+ hours in the car, only stopping for potty breaks, to get gas or food, or stopping at rest areas/truck stops to sleep, I finally arrive home with my husband and 4 year old this morning at 8 am. I'm tired and worn out but still unpack the car, and we get it returned an hour before they close. Woman checks me out though the man from last weekend is helping another customer next to her. She enters my mileage and notes the tank is full, and low and behold, they won't credit me a day because it is against policy for prepaid contracts. Explain what the man told me a week earlier, she's having none of it, he says maybe he was confused. I say fine I'll just bring the car back tomorrow...wrong. Since she entered the mileage and fuel level, my contract was closed. Mind you, it's only roughly $30 I'm out, but I'm tired and sore from being stuck in the car and not in the mood for shitty customer service when I rushed back to do them the favor. Never ever again. I'll pay a little more and get good customer service with Enterprise. (BTW after 6 calls to corporate (I'm persistent when I'm pissed), I got my $29.82 back. Worst experience ever. They didn't have a car even though I made the reservation 3 weeks prior. I reserved a mini van and they told me all they had were cars. There was an enterprise two blocks away that was able to get me in a mini van right away.
