We rented a car 3/27-4/5, we chose this location because it had "24 hr drop off". Upon picking up the rental car on 3/27 I was told Enterprise changed their policy and are no longer accepting after hours drop offs, and if I don't have the car back by 12pm 4/5 we will get charged for two extra days (because they are closed). We set up the rental way back in February would have been nice to know would have picked a different location. Anyway, we didn't have a choice but to take the vehicle since we were leaving that day to Florida. We just decided to rearrange our return time, which apparently Mother Nature had other plans because Kentucky and Tennessee were having tornadoes and flooding. Rather than put our lives in danger we decided to stay the night in Alabama away from the storm which pushed our return time on 4/5. When I informed the location we would be returning the car after 12pm he basically told me too bad so sad we are still getting charged for two extra nights. After SEVERAL calls to customer service explaining the situation, have been told would be escalated to Regional Mgr and here we are two weeks later still waiting for $176 refund. read more

Basic company. if you only use them once, you'll probably have a decent experience. However, when you use them a lot, you're bound to have an unpleasant one. My unpleasant experience: After booking the rental 2 weeks in advance as I usually did, my 2 daughters and I, 3 females, were traveling alone to visit a sick relative and we got into Tampa Intl around midnight. Went to the car rental section of the airport, paid extra for insurance bc I had the girls with me, I usually don't when I travel alone, so I paid over $600 for a sedan for 4 days. K. We get downstairs and they don't have any cars. There's none. Zero. They told me to come back after 8 am. My AirBnb was in DT St Pete. After trying to understand what the h e l l was going on, asking how much the Mustangs out front they're showcasing are, clearly they have cars, just none for the "poor people"? The literal 4, FOUR, people they had working behind the desk just stared at me like I was stupid, after I'd just paid over $600, they see me there with my children, so they finally offered me a refund to which I accepted, I walked out of the building and I screamed at the top of my lungs. I was exhausted, traveled all day for this? Well they actually threatened to call the police on me and demanded we leave immediately. I said well maybe they'd give us a ride ‍ Nope, we took an Uber to St Pete and then I began to use Turo. The owner of the vehicle I rented from brought the car directly to me when I rented it last minute and described my situation. Enterprise is awful. They will tell you things to get you in the store or in a rental vehicle with no intention on following through with verbal agreements. This is the second time renting from here and the last. Both times I was looking for a specific vehicle (one I intend to personally purchase), and both times I was told it'd be there only to be let down on both occasions. Both times I get there and have to wait for them to locate one and hear about their under staffed issue. In order to actually get my desired vehicle I had to take another all the way to Yorkville, IL and I was charged for the fuel to exchange. This isn't the correct way to conduct business. I had a Bachelor party to plan and knew that I needed to have a large van to transport all of us safely. I neglected to make a reservation, this was not smart on my part at all. When I arrived the manager, I believe his name was Dan, helped me with selecting an SUV that would accommodate the 8 passengers. Now this SUV was way better than the van I was planning on renting. It was fully loaded and was going to be awesome. Dan had the car washed and cleaned before I took it which I thought was a nice touch. With it being the Memorial day weekend Dan told me the office would not be open for me to return it the next day. He did offer up a solution to return it to the Joliet location which he said would be open on Sunday. Dan even gave me a deal on the vehicle since no one was going to be using it. Now here is the one part of the story that was a bit frustrating, Joliet was closed on Sunday when I went to return the car. I know it was an honest mistake on his part, but I was concerned with leaving the car for 2 days because I would still be responsible if anything happened. I also did not want to get charged for 2 additional days that I didn't use. I called the corporate and they notated on my account what had happened. I received a call on Tuesday morning from the Shorewood branch and they informed me that it was their mistake and I was not going to be charged for the 2 days. Overall I was really happy with the service I received here. Dan went above and beyond to help me and for that I am grateful. He was courteous, pleasant and helpful. Worst rental car experience ever!!!! I called the Friday before to confirm my pickup, told them date and time for the following Monday. An ins claim due to someone hitting my car so dropping off at body shop for repairs. Guy confirmed my reservation and time. Day comes they are NOWHERE to be found I called for over 30 MIN without a single person answering, stranded without a car I work 12hrs overnights and had not sleep yet and needed to go back to work, they didn't care that I won't sleep...I mean I only work a job protecting the public don't need to be awake for that...Finally get ahold of someone by telling them making a new reservation funny how that works, they smell $$$ they answer the phone and the lady blames the entire situation on me! I'm the RESPONSIBLE customer who called in ADVANCE! How am I to blame? No customer service or caring about their business, worst experience ever and I won't ever use Enterprise Again! Lets start with the good part first..... they do usually have cars available....and thats the only good thing about this place. As you pull in you will notice that there is NO place to park. Like no parking at all if you have to leave your car. Next you walk into the most filthy and dirty hole of a place. It actually appears as if though they haven't vacuumed the floors in over two months. Speaking of being cleanly you should see inside of most of their cars. Generally you will have to wait while they say they have to clean up a car for you. Whoever is doing the cleaning must be blind, and only have one arm. It really is gross how they've tried to give me a couple different cars. I've refused both of them and got into different Vehicles because of it. Now this is something that they will frequently do witches upgrade your rental into a higher class vehicle at no cost. Most of the time it's because they don't have the vehicle you rented available or ready for you. It's easier for them just to get you out of there and put you in a nicer car because it's ready. The employees here lack any of the core values that Enterprise teaches their Associates. I've been dealing with Enterprise for over 12 years from truck Fleet rentals all the way through personal vehicle rentals and corporate car rentals. I know how their employees are taught and are supposed to treat the customer. This location in Shorewood lacks any of the core values, core skills, and professionalism that Enterprise teaches. I'm not a mean person, and generally very patient with people. However as a consumer and a customer at your counter if you make me feel horribly uncomfortable and the interaction with you is very weird and awkward then I don't appreciate it at all. The last three times I've been here both employees interact with the customers as if though they need to explain how difficult their job is, how poor the systems are that they're working with, and make all kinds of excuses for the lack of professionalism. Most recently they didn't even have paper to print the contracts on so they just said let me know how much gas is in there and what the miles are and will go ahead and email you a contract. So I left with a vehicle and no contract, no representation that there was damage or not to the vehicle, and the fact that they had no reported fuel level or anything else. read more

I have had nothing but PERFECT service the last few times we have used this location. There is a gentleman in there (I wish I got his name) who provides the best customer service ever. Horrible experience! I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO NOTE THAT ALL MY PAST REVIEWS ARE POSITIVE, I AM NOT A COMPLAINER. We rented a car from Enterprise while attending my fathers funeral. When we checked the car out and were assessing the vehicle , we actually pointed out the small dent on the top of the hood right where it would be if they had a problem opening the hood. The employee brushed it off at the time and said it was not something they needed to even write down. I realize now it was a huge mistake on our part but at the time there was a lot going on and we didn't think of insisting, especially since it really wasn't very noticeable. I guess we figured she knew better than us. When we returned the vehicle they pointed out the dent and told us we would have to pay almost $1000. We had to catch a plane and didn't have time to argue the point, although we did tell them our side of the story, and did refuse to sign the document stating we were responsible. We figured we could explain in further detail exactly what had happened when we returned home and had the time. We had a witness Unfortunately it has gone to collections. And what can we do? It is our word against a Billion dollar corporation. And this Insurance Fraud apparently happens all the time. We are good, fair people that take responsibility for our actions, and I swear on my good name this was not our fault. I have never had such a nightmare experience happen in my life. Please if you rent a car, from anywhere, don't make the mistake we made and not write down even the smallest marks you find. So upset, truly a nightmare that is still going on. Awful service. Unorganized and somewhat arrogant. I decided against rental here after witnessing another customer checking her vehicle in. It had a couple scratches which they refer to as normal when you check it out. The clerk handled the situation very poorly not listening to a thing his customer was saying. What she was describing was exactly the same thing they tell everyone while your walking the car " don't worry we're only worried about major dents scratches etc. and we don't count normal wear and tear" I can tell you I walked outside while they were arguing just to see for myself and the customer was 100 percent right. I decided not to rent and made other arrangements. Rent here at your own risk... Especially if you have to deal with one of the two frat boys working the desk. read more

on september 1 we reserved a full size luxury car on line from the shorewood location for pickup date on sept 12, a saturday. their office is open until noon on saturday. we had an out of state appointment for business about a 9 hour drive. we arrived on saturday to pick up the car as we were leaving the next day. we were told by the staff they did not have our car, and we were early and should have arrived at noon. i told the staff we had reserved a full size vehicle as i had health issues and needed the leg room. he said we should come back at noon. i asked him if he would have our car then. he said no. the only car they had was a hyundai tucson. we reluctantly took the car as we were leaving at 6 am sunday morning. thecar had 42000 miles on it and had suspension issues. it wandered in the lane and above 50 mph pulled to the right. it made for a less than pleasurable experience to put it mildly. we returned the car today and spoke to the manager, jonathan, who was on vacation last week. he. offered to try and do something to improve the situation, but i refused any type of compensation. i let him know that i would be putting up a review, and i will contact enterprise regional office. i will never rent from this store again. read more

This location on Route 59 is a joke! My husband and I have rented cars from this specific location numerous times!!!! Every single time we go to rent from them it's a different scenario! They are so INCONSISTENT! We have always chose NOT to use our credit card when we rented and they always needed an Electric bill,Gas bill etc...(totally understandable) but when you always rent to us without needing any of that and then all of a sudden each time we come you need something "New" it starts to NOT make any sense....FOR INSTANCE, we recently rented a Vehicle from them and we needed it for a week and a half so the cost came out to be roughly $1,200.00....okay totally fine, we paid it and returned the vehicle on time and with nothing wrong. They did need a copy of our Electric bill on file and that was it.....We went in today to pick up a vehicle that I had "reserved" for two days and the lady called this morning to confirm my reservation, she stated that I could print off my electric bill in the office if needed to and that was that. Fast forward to 2:00pm when I went to pick up my vehicle! I walk in and the man who is usually working remembered me from 2 months ago when we went to rent a car and said I could use the computer to print off my bill. I go to print it off and a lady who I have never seen working there before states that they could not use my bill because it was on "budget billing" remind you, they have NEVER said this was an issue before and I always print off the same exact bill to use when I rent.....(my comed bill had a balance of $35 that was not even "past due)" anyone who uses "budget billing" knows that it is not the same as if I was paying a bill off monthly from the past that I couldn't afford, it's simply an average of what my neighborhood uses and sometimes it's even more expensive than want it would be if I paid only what my household uses by itself!!!!! This did not sit well with me and i decided to ask if there was a manager I could speak with. A new lady came out by the name of "Deena Abujabir" she told me she was "actually the District Manager" BULLSHIT..... I simply told her that they have always rented to me in the past and to be exact they rented to me 2 months ago and all they said they needed was a copy of my SAME Electric bill and I left with my rental and $1,200.00 out my account! I have never heard about this budget billing before in my life! She stated again that since my Electric bill is under a budget billing that they cannot rent to me????? Hmmmm not understanding and very upset I decided to call Corporate myself and ask if this even existed...when corporate got on the phone i explained everything and they began to explain after they looked up the exact office terms and regulations that it DOES NOT MATTER if i had budget billing or not and that it shouldn't of been an issues as long as i didnt have a past due balance (which i did not have)....i then asked Ms.Deena what she was talking about and that corporate on the phone was saying that she was wrong and she kept trying to say that "corporate didn't know what they were talking about.....after giving up on Deena and knowjng that she was wrong but i would not win the battle we decided to leave!
