If I could give 0 stars I would! We needed a rental due to accident. I received a text to give an hour notice. TRIED to call an hour before but received no answer. On the 3rd try she answered and had me on hold for 15 minutes. Hung up and called again. She finally answered and was told that she didn't have cars ready so she would call me later to let me know when one was available. Told her that was fine and that we were on the way. Got to the office at 5:10 only to find out she closed at 5. NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK! Next day called back she answered and was put on hold for another 15 mins. Hung up and called back several times with no answer. So we switch to Enterprise. Worst customer service I have ever had. read more

I should've checked Yelp BEFORE I booked a rental with Hertz. I thought when you made an appointment for a pick up time, it meant that it would be honored. I specifically told the representative that I needed to be somewhere at 4 o'clock and asked him to pick me up no later than 315. It was "no problem" I was told. At this exact moment (3:44pm) I'm standing in the parking lot of the repair shop still waiting on my ride from Hertz to pick up my rental. I called at 3:25 & was told the representative had left 10 minutes ago to pick me up. So you leave to pick me up at the time of my appointment???? How does that work?? Now I definitely won't make my 4 o'clock appointment at the other place AND the repair shop owner has already warned me that Hertz is known for bad business and over-billing customers. I suggest never renting from Hertz it's not worth the trouble. The pickup at the airport went fairly smooth but returning car in Macon showed how the company is. Oh and the 800# for customer service ha they couldn't help and just say go back where you dropped car then those people say call the 800#. And while I am waiting my turn I hear the lady in front of me having issues to. When no one can tell you why you're paying close to $200 for a $34 day car that you had less than a day they aren't worth dealing with. But I'll be back on hold with 800# this morning. Oh and if you do have to use Macon location you should call first cause they might be on their hour lunch. read more

Terrible, after turning vehicle in within a few days my father in law started receiving harassing calls, stating he never turned in the vehicle, called the office in Macon, they stated his account was closed, still received harrassing calls, called office again, same info, called customer service, after being on hold for more than 15 minutes still no help at all! read more

Definitely the worst Hertz location I ever dealt with. Booked 2 cars - both with barely any gas in it. Also both vehicles were dirty inside and out, incl. a half eaten sandwich in the glove compartment. After contacting the manager, he did not seem Interested - you should rent somewhere else. read more

This is the worst location for rental car service in the country! They have a Black Woman at the front desk who is extremely rude and doesn't want to do ANY work. I had a rental car set up for me by my insurance company but when I got to the location, the people inside seemed way more interested in whatever they were doing at the time. Totally unprofessional and lazy! Save yourself some time and DON'T go to Hertz. If they have this much of a problem with competent employees, I would hate to see what a real emergency would be handled like ( flat tire. car trouble, etc...) Do NOT rent with these people. We were promised a car at 3 we got there at 3:30 and were told they had no cars. Zero cars at a rental car company. When you call, they promise the same 2 already reserved cars to everyone. We were very inconvenienced because we waited there for over an hour only to be given the car that we told her that we didn't want earlier that morning. We waited for another car from a different branch brought by a guy who thinks the sun shines out of his you know where. He thinks he's even too good to address customers. On top of this, the car he brought over had a light on so we couldn't take that one. Only came here because this is where the insurance company made the reservation and we already dropped off our car at the dealership and had no choice. Never again. After numerous online searches we found Hertz to have the best price this time. We were scheduled to pick our car up at 9. They opened at 8:30, by 8:45 we were on the way home to load up. Usually we have to stop for gas, but this one was already filled up. On last Saturday, five or 6 days into our rental, we decided to extend our stay one more day. Our home store was closed, but the 1-800 staff was there to help. Drop off lasted about 10 minutes. Everything was quick and easy. read more

Worst customer service from start to . . . well, it's still ongoing. A car was rented by an insurance company while my truck was being fixed after an accident. We returned the car two weeks later. On our way to return it, we filled the gas tank and had it washed. The "manager trainee" was the only one there and had a poor attitude from the start. He claimed the car was not clean enough and would have to charge a cleaning fee. I gave him the receipt for the car wash and he just didn't care. Because there were other people waiting he took my phone number and said he would call me shortly to discuss it. The next morning my bank account had $433.39 withdrawn by Hertz. After a week of phone calls I received a refund of $400. The $33.39 was kept for a fuel charge. I am once again making phone calls and told the area manager would call me back. . . He never does. I called the insurance company that made the reservation for help and they said this seems to be an ongoing problem. All I can say is stay away from Hertz. read more

The worst place ever to rent a car! The paperwork and what they tell you about the return time are completely different. The girl at the front desk has a horrible attitude and the manager has an even worse one. You cant get a word in a conversation without him interrupting you. I will never EVER rent from them again. Location had no idea how to use a Hertz issued customer service certificate. Stood at the counter for 45 minutes while she tried to locate and apply the discount. In the end she said she can apply it to the rental rate and not the total price. I told her that's not anywhere in the terms and conditions. She just shrugged and told me to let her know if I still want to rent the car and attended another customer who approached the counter. I called customer service and was on the phone with them for 15-20 minutes until they verified it can apply to the total price. By this time the location closed and I couldn't rent the car. Rented a vehicle from the ATL airport. Apparently if you are a gold member, you don't get any customer service. You just pick a vehicle yourself and drive off. I drove to my hotel which was almost 2 hrs away. After my drive I realize there are cigarette burns in the ceiling, a piece missing from the door, and a busted drivers side door handle (the same panel with the door locks and window controls is about to fall off). I have been trying to swap my vehicle for the past 2 weeks at this location so I don't have to drive back to ATL. First time I was told the system was down with zero offers to follow up. Second time I was told they did not have any vehicles and to check back. Once again, no customer service. Third time I stopped in and was told again they have no vehicles eventho they told me the day before they will have a bunch of returns for me. Finally they took my phone number and said they will call me Monday when they get a return. This was from a guy in the back because the girl up front just stared at me with an attitude offering no assistance. I travel for work ALL the time and constantly rent vehicles. This is the worst experience I've ever had and worst vehicle I've ever received. Never renting with Hertz again. I will also file a report to the government and Military travel office about the treatment Military receives when renting from this company. read more

We got the car as promised and easily extended the rental time with no problem. The only complaint I had was their latest pick up was 5:30 and earliest was 8:30 and those are the times I go in and get off of work making it very difficult to pick up and return. read more
