DON'T RENT FROM HERTZ IF YOU ARE GOING TO DUBLIN ! (this has nothing to do with the Melbourne Florida operation) My trip to Dublin came to a screeching halt at the Hertz Rental Counter when they refused to honor my confirmed reservation that was made on-line, in the US, on the Hertz website BECAUSE I AM 82 YEARS OLD! My reservation was not in the Dublin Airport system and, because I am over 75 they require two letters - one from my primary physician that I am healthy enough to drive and one from my insurance company that proved I have had no recent accidents (3 years). There was no indication of this requirement on the Hertz web site where I made the reservation. To me, this sounds like blatant AGE DISCRIMINATION - even at 82 years old I am in better shape than probably 90 percent of folks that are younger than 75. So, after I had a discussion with the Hertz representative in the Dublin operation, I discovered that it WAS A FRANCHISE OPERATION and NOT a Hertz Corporate operation and the franchise underwriters require different qualifications than most other car rental agencies AND the FRANCHISE OPERATIONS ARE NOT INTEGRATED WITH THE HERTZ RESERVATION SYSTEM. My journey continued to Aberdeen, Scotland where I rented a car from Enterprise with no issues because of my age. I'm cancelling my Hertz membership. I am now wondering how many other HERTZ locations are Franchises and have their own requirements. If HERTZ decides to ignore this issue I will consider further options of communicating my problem. read more

The absolute worst manager and staff in Brevard county(except for one). My wife has been trying to get a truck for 3 weeks. First time we had a reservation we showed up and the truck was gone. The lady lied and said come back tomorrow WHICH THEY ARE CLOSED ON SATURDAY. Did another reservation they called and said none available did another reservation days later they told her they sold all the trucks. Called and that was a lie. So we decided to do a reservation for a car and they said they don't have any cars and that we have to reserve 3 days out. Wtf is the truth and what's going on. At this point I'm feeling like this is a race thing. Manager very rude and had no answers. One time we reserved and they told her somebody that had an insurance claim had the upper hand to get the vehicle. Will definitely be calling corporate and won't stop until we get real answers. read more

We had rented the vehicle for 4 days. The first three days, we did not have any issues. When we started the car at the hotel on the 4th day (7/17), there was a message on the dash that said Service Power Steering, and the vehicle did not have any power steering. We opened a case with Dollar on the mechanical failure and we were directed to the Melbourne Int'l Airport to get a new vehicle. When we go there, they did not have a vehicle to rent us (they had vehicles but they were not one way). We called another location in Melborne and they also could not rent us a vehicle. No one had any answers. We had to drive from Melbourne to Orlando Airport with no power steering (safety issue). In addition, our plans for that day were ruined because we could not safely drive the vehicle. Very poor customer service. read more

The entire staff is great and they do their best to make sure you are satisfied. Friendly, helpful and efficient. They make the most out of what they have. They are a little hidden in the body shop of the gator dealership but they are always extremely busy but do a great job handling everything. read more

Worst possible location! The extreme lack of proper signs sent me on a run a round. It's located in the back of a car dealership advertised by a sign the size of a small street sign. Good luck finding this place and keeping your sanity at the same time. read more

I made a reservation online on 10/4 for a 10/5 pick-up at 4pm. On 10/5 at 1:10pm I called the location (and got no answer. I called back at 1:59pm to request a pick-up and was told I would be picked up closer to 4 and the driver would call while on their way. At 4:30 I had not been called so I called in and spoke with Mark. Mark advised that he had a 5-person vehicle. I advised him that I need a 7-person vehicle which is why I reserved a 7-person vehicle. He stated he would make some calls and call me back. At 5:30 I had not heard back so I called again. At this time I spoke with Angel who told me that they do not have a 7-person vehicle. When I asked why I hadn't received a call to advise me that my reservation could not be kept earlier in the day (as he stated they ran out of cars at 9am), he told me that Hertz was did nothing wrong and that they offered me a smaller car. I advised Angel as I had Mark, that I did not need a smaller car, I need a larger car which is why I reserved and paid for the vehicle I had. Angel stated 'how is this my fault, you've never spoken to me!' It seems Hertz doesn't feel is owes its customers even the basic courtesy of advising them that their reservation cannot be fulfilled. In my case, I was literally left sitting at my home in Indialantic waiting to be picked up. Had I not called, multiple times, they were perfectly content to simply ignore my reservation and me along with it. read more

This is THE WORST service I have ever received in any type of establishment. DO NOT come to Hertz gator Chrysler on 140 N Harbor City Blvd. From the day I walked in I was treated with the utter most nastiest disrespect someone could offer. The man who was helping us who worked on 07/31/2020 between 3-5pm yesterday afternoon completely ignored me and sat on his phone both days I came to pick up the rental and return the rental. My friend came along to assist me and had worsened his attitude. He lied to us about policy's and procedures and continued the act up when we came to return the rental. Not to mention I received the car in HORRIBLE conditions... and he has the audacity to leave a voicemail after I drop the car off and tell me he is going to charge for a cleaning fee when I brought the vehicle back in better conditions then how I received it! This man stole my deposit money for no good reason. And was cruel to me on the phone. I have tried to contact Hertz corporate and yet to get ANYWHERE. I would avoid this place at all costs. They steal, lie, and the most awful customer service you could ever possibly receive. read more

Horrible billing experience! They were supposed to bill the dealership that had our car and billed our account instead for an amount over and above the amount owed! Now I have to deal with their error with them, the bank, and the dealership. Thanks for adding to my day! read more

This location gave us an absolutely unsafe car for our family vacation up to NY. Both rims were dented causing the wheels to hop. Unable to swap out because all hertz locations on our way either 1 "had no other cars" 2 "were closed" 3 "unable to open our account". Got to the first toll plaza in Delaware and car auto-stopped and would not turn back on leaving us stranded blocking traffic in toll plaza. Starter was bad!! We were unable to come to complete stop (in NJ/NYC traffic + tolls) because if we did car would stall out and not turn back on for 10-15 min. Customer service/road side assistance was a joke. Waited on hold for 30-45 min and were unable to help when they finally answered. Sent multiple emails and phone calls to complain and finally was PARTIALLY reimbursed which doesn't begin to make up for the nightmare we've been through, not to mention being late for my sisters wedding. Absolutely appalled by the whole experience. Do NOT use Hertz! read more
