This is a response to Mr. Gilbert. Since he wanted to post my picture and tell a bunch of lies. First off y'all were extremely aggressive and did absolutely have me bullied into a corner. I being the employee could only do what I was TOLD I could do by my bosses at the time. Yes, bosses there were 2. My big boss was a MALE and did get involved after the way you were treating me. I was there by myself that day and have restrictions on what I can do and can't. Which is why after you continued to be extremely rude and call me out of my name I let you speak directly to my STORE manager who was a FEMALE. Calling me a lier is DEFAMATION. I was scared because not only were you cussing at me but you were also videoing me and being aggressive! I really wanted you to post it but I guess you couldn't cuz it made YOU look bad. During my time there y'all were the WORST humans I had to deal with. Sometimes you can't get your way and bullying people won't do it for you. I hope you've learned to treat customer service representatives with respect. Have a life you deserve. read more

Hertz is the slowest least efficient car rental experience of all time. Go wait at one counter in one line then go to a different counter outside to wait in a second line to the get service from a slow apathetic employee. Saved like $10 cuz they had a deal but will never ever again cheap out to save a few bucks for such a horrible experience. read more

Updating my review. Still don't have an issue with the sales process, but be forewarned: check the car with a fine-tooth-comb and believe nothing about what you're told. My 2021 Kicks overall isn't a bad vehicle. But here are the issues I've discovered in the past 3 weeks since I bought it: 1. Needs an alignment 2. Needs brakes - BIG note here - it has a brand new inspection sticker - no way it should have passed. 3. Needs an internal thermostat. It blows hot air from 62° up and cold air from 61° down - nothing in between. 4. Smaller details: Needs wipers, dirty - was promised to be cleaned prior to pickup and wasn't, had less than 1/2 tank of gas. Can't wait to see what else I discover. read more

Completely waste of time. I called because they had the car I was looking for 3 different people confirmed that they had the car available, made I appointment for next day at 5pm I called 1 hour before my appointment to make sure I don't waste my time because of all the bad reviews this place have and they confirmed again that this car was there they even double checked. I arrived to my test drive and first thing was of we can't locate the car it may be getting clean up. 30 minutes later they told me oh I will have to give you a call to let you know when they car is here and I am still waiting. I understand after covid everything is much harder and unorganized but be professional when you customers and be honest. If you trying to buy a car from here ask them to send you pictures and get it ready at least one day before hopefully they do better. read more

My son was involved in an accident and needed an affordable rental for several days while the insurance companies duke it out. I've always used one of the other guys because, for some reason, I thought they had the best rates, based on their name. When my son said he was calling Hertz, I suggested my standby, but he reminded me that he was an adult. I must say, my young adult offspring got it right. The friendly gentleman working the lot that day got my son signed, in the car, off the lot in zippity quick fashion at a great price. I will definitely use Hertz the next time I need a car. I was sent to Hertz for by my insurance, reservation made on Friday with request for pick up at the repair facility for Monday at 8 a.m. thru corporate phone number. I specifically asked if I need to contact the local office I was told no they would see the reservation. Monday morning dropped off my car around 7:50 by 8:10 I called Hertz. The young lady stated that she had called me over the weekend but I didn't call her back. I told her I just thought that it was mix up because I had been called by Hertz when I made the reservation. No apology fro m her what so .ever, just implies that it was my fault. She then told me that she would send her driver. BY 8:30 STILL no pick up, I called back and was told she texted me a list of drivers, needless to say I didn't receive a text, she then proceeded to put me on hold. Meanwhile the repair facility employee said I am going to call down there for you as well. While I was sitting on hold, the repair shop called and said we have a person that has been waiting for pickup since 8:00, the Hertz emploher said that didn't know anything about it but that would send a driver. Meanwhile I am still on hold, then my call is lost. I do not know if the young lady hung up on me or not. When Iwas finally picked up, the driver was very friendly and professional. Arrive at the rental, no good morning, sorry for the inconvenience really nothing said. Other than the driver at this rental facility, the staff need s lessons in simple customer service. How to greet a customer when they come into your establishment, do not blame the customer, and don't talk down to them. I did call my insurance company so they would be aware of this situation. I have rented from Hertz before but I have to say this may changed my mind forever on this company. I think we should at least be able to expect good customer service. read more

My insurance company set up a rental for me at this location. I called to make sure I had a reservation before coming in after work. Originally they didn't (there was a system issue) but by noon everything was set up. I go after work, around 5:15 and they tell me they don't have any more cars. The lady in front of me who didn't even have a reservation, a walk-in, took the last car. They told me to come back the next day, asked what kind of car I had (a 2-door sports car) and if I wanted something comparable. I made sure to emphasize that I did not want a compact car (as people often equate 2-door car, to compact, which my car is not). He wrote down that Id want at least a mid, if not full. I call back the next day around noon to see if they had a car, he tells me no, and says if I come after 3, they should have something back. I let him know I'll be back after work. I arrive after work and the only car they have is a compact, a Mazda 1. (-_-). She tells me I can come back the following day to swap it out. She does a walk around, and asks me to sign off on he condition of the car, but I notice a huge dent in the side is not marked so I bring it to her attention she fixes it and goes to start he car... and it has a hard time starting. She tells me it's fine, she just moved it and it started fine, but if I have any issues let her know. So I start the car the next morning and it has a difficult time starting at the engine light is on. I drive it to work, and start it again at lunch time and it does it again. I call the location and ask if I can switch the car out, she says they don't have anything. I tell her the car is still having issues with starting, and she says well we'll definitely have to switch it out then. So now, there's an opportunity for a car to be available... interesting. This time I get a Toyota Corolla. Not ideal, but better. I have no major issues with this car, outside of it not being mine. For the next 2 weeks, I can't getting calls asking where my personal car was being repaired. I'm not sure why that information was needed, and if this was standard information they needed, I feel they should have contacted my insurance company directly. I have the car for about 10 days or so and I am involved in an accident. It was deemed no one's fault, and was simply an accident. The police call a tow truck, because of the damage to the front of the car. I do all my due diligence, reporting to the necessary people, file necessary claims, EVERYTHING. The representative I spoke to told me I would be able to get a replacement vehicle, but may have to wait until they get possession of the car. She told me to contact the Airport location and to ask to speak with a manager. I call the airport and the manager is unavailable but the rep I talked to told me I would have no problem getting a replacement as long as I have the case #. I drive ALL the way to the airport the next day, and am told I can't get a replacement because I didn't rent from that location and I didn't have the original paperwork with me. Despite having ID and the case #, and despite it being 2016, and I'd hope company computer systems are linked across locations around the world. So I call this location and tell them the situation, the guy I talked to asked if they had possession of the vehicle, I said I didn't know. He hesitated and said he would call me back after finding out if they had the vehicle. He called me back, literally 10 days later. By then I had found transportation and had moved on from dealing with Hertz. He asked if I still needed a car... 10 days later... I told him I had found transportation. At which point he stated they needed to close out my rental... after not having a car with them for almost 2 weeks. Hertz was just completely unprofessional dealing with me, and there car selection was terrible when not non-existent. Even their claim department was terrible. As I stated I did everything I needed to, faxed in forms immediately, only to have them contact not only me, but my boyfriend when I missed the call, saying I didn't give them required documentation. Despite having email confirmation of their receipt. I was so happy once the final check was written to them for the repairs and I could completely forget about this company. I will never use Hertz ever again. read more

We recently rented an SUV from the Hertz in Richmond, VA for a week. During the pre-rental inspection, my wife noticed several scratches and a dent on the rear passenger door, which we asked that the rental agent mark on the damage report. When we returned the vehicle, the same rental agent claimed that the very same damage was new, and that we were liable for the repair. When he showed us the pre-rental damage check, he had only marked the scratches and not the dent. When my wife tried to explain that he had been shown the damage prior to the rental, he denied it and refused to admit that he may have made a mistake before the rental occurred. Furthermore, he accused us of causing the damage and when pressed on the matter, backtracked by saying that "you may not have caused the damage, but it happened while you had the vehicle" (as though they were two separate concepts). My wife, who was not there for the return, asked the rental agent if she could come in and look at the damage, since the car was in her name. But, the rental agent said that the car had already been taken to their claim department at a different location. When she asked if she could go to the other location and check it out, he told her that he had already marked that she didn't want to see the damage (something she had never said). During the conversation, she tried to speak to the manager several times, but was denied each time. We are going to check out the damage again tomorrow, but I'm certain our insurance will be charged for the damage. The moral of the story: Make sure that you document everything (write it down, take pictures, double and triple check). Otherwise Hertz will try and scam you out of your money. Furthermore, they will treat you rudely and like a criminal. Please use other companies if at all possible. read more

On 8/3 I viewed cars online for their Rent2Buy program. A car I was interested in said it was available on 8/8, but I was leaving town that day, so I set my pickup date as 8/10 at 5:45pm. I returned home early on the 10th, so I gave them a call asking if I could pick up the car early. Derek told me that it "probably" wouldn't be ready for another three days (13th) because it needed an oil change and detailed. I talked to a supervisor and they told me it more than likely wouldn't be ready on that date, and my original date was only tentative. Nowhere on my emails did it mention my pick-up date as tentative. A total waste of time. read more

This is the worst car rental agency location I have been to, hands down. I rent cars about 40 days a year for work and seriously - this place is a joke. The front desk staff are SO unprofessional. I was the only customer and the guy seemed annoyed by my arrival. He had to call a manager to find me keys. No one even checked my driver's license or credit card! I suppose if you are looking to rent a car on the DL and do god knows what with it, this is your place. I've had nothing but issues dealing with this place. I called ahead to check that they had a car before making the 40 minute drive to pick it up. When I got there they put me in a dirty car with half a tank. When I brought up the fact that the car had not clearly been cleaned (papers and debris shoved under the seat, not vacuumed at all, and even the previous users papers with his name on them in the dash, stains in the cupholders and sides of the car, etc) the lady trying to sell it to me says oh I'll clean it real quick which meant half assed running a vacuum through it. They told me they had no other cars to put me in. Since I had to catch a flight at Dulles and didn't at that point have time to wait around for her to also fill the tank she told to switch the car out when I got to Dulles, turns out they don't handle claim reservations which I'm sure was already known. So when I returned to the states I had the car switched out and thankfully the man who handled that seemed very nice and understanding and upgraded my vehicle. But then comes issue number two where I needed the vehicle past the return date so I called and paid $450 to keep the car for an extra two weeks. Then come to find out they start calling my mother saying that the car is overdue to be returned. When my mother informed her I actually already paid to keep the car the lady was rude enough to tell her I was lying, mind you though you can see on my bank statement they took the $450. This goes on for a week of her getting calls, but not me. So I call to find out what's going on and turns out they took the payment but never updated the return date. This place is a fucking mess and as a travel nurse who travels often I am never using this company again and would recommend anyone to save themselves the headache and go with a better more customer service based company like Enterprise. read more

When I'm two hours away by car and in the middle of my mother's geriatric psychiatrist appointment where she is being diagnosed for early stage dementia for the first time. Their excuse... My wife called to set-up reservation on Friday, 3 days ago and she was told to call 30 mins prior to needing the car and that they would come get her...standard enough. So today when she calls, they don't have a single vehicle....except one currently being worked on in the shop (literally) and they suggest that one! Ummm....liability concerns? They said they couldn't guarantee a vehicle...isn't that the purpose of a reservation???With further investigation, there is no local/regional manager available with whom to speak, and there is no Asst Manager...They are currently taking applications. This is the WORST car rental place EVER!!! My insurance company set me up with them and I will never use them again. They didn't show up at the body shop when they said they would. When they finally showed up, one guy picked up a car and the lady drove me back to their office to fill out paperwork. She proceeded to take phone calls while I was waiting. Then to top it all off, when they finally brought me the car, it was the same car they just picked up at the body shop! All they did was spray it off (because it was still very dirty). Customer service was awful. They didn't even apologize for making me wait so long. I wish I could give them a half star instead of one star. Do not use this company for any reason. read more

My insurance company set up a rental reservation for me on a Friday night to pick up the car the next morning. I received a confirmation, and let them know it was extremely important that I have the vehicle by the time they close at 12:00 PM on Saturday (WTF?! its the weekend!) So, I called up to this Hertz, where my reservation was made, at the exact time they opened (9 AM). I was put on hold not just once, but 3 times. I explained to him after finally getting through that I had a reservation made already from my insurance company, and he told me that they did not have one single car left. He transferred me over to the other Hertz location down the street - again, put on hold multiple times, spoke to a very frustrated man, told me he had a car but to "hold on" - and after finally getting back with me, he said no we do not have anything for you. SO, I looked up another Hertz location in Midlothian because I was desperate for a rental. The guy who answered the phone said, "DON'T YOU KNOW IT'S RACE WEEKEND? YOU REALLY NEED TO UNDERSTAND THAT." Actually sir, I do not follow Nascar and that shouldn't be a factor in my rental reservation.... I ended up calling my insurance company back and they set me up with a rental from Enterprise, who I would HIGHLY recommend over Hertz any day. From someone that has worked in customer service for over 10 years, you guys are literally the worst people I've ever dealt with. read more

Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! Do NOT go to this dealership! They're unorganized! I was talking to a representative name Derik Teachy, and I asked him if a car I was looking at for 3 weeks, is still available. Now we've been talking for 3 weeks and I told him that I'm serious about purchasing the vehicle. So fast forward to the day of purchasing it. I love 1 hour away from the dealership, so I asked the man again if it was still available. He told me yes but a lady was looking at it. He told me she wound up NOT getting it. I asked him if he was sure and he re confirmed that she DIDNT purchase it. When I got to the dealership, he said he got the wrong information and she actually DID purchase the vehicle but she didn't drive it off the lot. So basically he didn't look on the computer but just saw the car still parked outside and made a decision that it was still available! They're very horrible. Customer service is a fail and theyre basically don't care too much about their customers. If this had a negative star I'd give them a negative 5 - star read more

The worst rental car experience ever! I am sorry I picked up their card at my car repair place. Their fones were out of order when I made my reservation so I got an email that all is set and ready to go. Yet when I dropped my car for repair, they FORGOT all about me and had to wait an hour, missing work, for them to find a car, pick me up, drive me downtown, and get it. The car was very dirty, inside and out, had not been washed. Yuck! Late Friday nite, they leave a msg that I need to drive the car to THEM for drop off. They are supposed to bring it to your dealership and pick it up from the dealership per the insurance deal. I will make them do that. A major cluster.
