Fun fact: Budget and Avis are basically cousins--same location, same staff--but somehow Budget be minding their business with better prices I thought having a business account was gonna make me feel VIP... nope. The real VIP move is booking online early. I booked my SUV ahead of spring break and saved a good $60-$80. Last-minute people? Prayers They kept texting me about an "upgrade," got me all excited... just to tell me it's based on availability. Baby, then why are we texting?? Still, they gave me a 2025 Jeep that was clean, comfy, and fully loaded--Bluetooth, SiriusXM, double sunroof, push start... okayyy I see you! Car ran smooth, no issues, easy return. No drama, just vibes. Moral of the story: Budget = bang for your buck. Book early and keep your expectations for "upgrades"... flexible and as always, you can thank me later

After calling I was told to leave keys in drop slot in door and nothing else was as needed. Did that and then got charged for late return when car was dropped off early. Drop off location and time on my e-receipt were incorrect. Customer service did nothing to help saying that they found no discrepancies in the vehicle drop off time and location. Still waiting for emails back from after complaint to their online customer service

    I have just recently begun regularly renting from Hertz and this is my preferred location. I have…read morenow rented a few SUVs from this Hertz and my experiences have been generally positive. It is easy to reserve (tip: never use your digital card to reserve -- only the physical card!), the team is fast and helpful, and the return process is very easy. The SUVs I have rented from Hertz have always been Ford Explorers. Apparently, the company has an agreement with Ford. So no options for something like a Grand Cherokee, Atlas, CX-9 or BMW X5 like a competitor may offer. While I appreciate the consistency and reliability of the Explorer, the vehicles are not always in the best condition. On several occasions, the SUVs were not thoroughly cleaned, with items like bottle tops and a chip bag on different occasions. Additionally, the vehicles tend to have minor interior damages, such as scuffs and scratches on the seats and dashboard. Even when the mileage is extremely low. Once, a window motor began to go out and the only option I had was to go specifically to the San Diego Airport Hertz to ask for an exchange. I've never had an issue with cigarette smoke, however. Despite these issues, the Ford Explorers have performed well on the road. They are spacious, comfortable and have some modern features -- great for long trips. Also, I am still pleased with the overall cost, ability to rent for travel into Mexico, the customer service and reservation experience, which is why I keep returning.

    I went there on January 2nd receive a bad customer service. I called the store to pick me up…read more The guy that answered my phone seems like did not want to work and rude. It was the black guy. The hispanic guy was very good and gave me the compact suv. A week later I called for extension for the rental I think the black guy again who answered the phone. He is very rude either you authorized the charge or return the car. I was authorized him to charge me and he did not. So I got charged 60 for late fees. I just noticed a week later try to do extension again for my car. Your Agent is represent your company how good you treat them. Most likely you did not treat them really good; that is why has a low and cheap customer service like the rental car. They are cheap but the customer service are cheap as well.

    I had an incredibly frustrating experience with Avis after booking my rental through Costco Travel…read more My pickup time was 5:00 PM on Wednesday 3/11, and I arrived at 5:04 PM--just four minutes later--only to find the location already closed, and when I showed up the next morning at 7:56 AM, I was told I was considered a "no show." Apparently, a four-minute delay was enough for them to disregard my reservation entirely. To make matters worse, the agent then tried to downgrade me to a much smaller vehicle because they didn't have my vehicle, as it never showed up...I asked why they didn't call and tell me that, and the guy just shrugged his shoulders. Several 7-passenger vehicles were sitting right there, but he repeatedly insisted that I "didn't pay for that," claimed they weren't available, and said they were "going to the airport." Instead of trying to help or find a reasonable solution, I got nothing but excuses. The customer service was shockingly bad. The agent was rude, dismissive, and extremely condescending, with a completely uncaring demeanor. It felt like my reservation, my time, and my business meant absolutely nothing; he took others' calls and sipped his coffee. No name tags; told me to call customer service to see if they had another vehicle; no manager's name. When I asked for the manager's name, he threw a card on the counter and said, " Call customer service. I think that was offshore to Donald Duck & CO What should have been a simple car pickup turned into a stressful and unnecessarily frustrating experience. I strongly recommend avoiding this Avis location. If you need a rental, do yourself a favor and go around the corner to Enterprise on Magnolia --where they actually seem happy to rent cars to customers

    By far, the worst Avis experience I've had so far. I was dropped off to pick up my rental…read more Staff working...he said his name was Kevin (but not sure if it actually is his real name). First off, pick up should take a minute...everything is on my file as preferred already...although it ended up taking almost 10 minutes. He took my DL and CC and was on the computer not saying anything. He assigned me my car, then I went out to get it. It was a red SUV. COMPLETELY dirty. Inside seats were sticky as well. I walked back to the desk and demanded another car. He said he had no other cars available...then said someone should be out there cleaning the vehicles. I see the contractor working on another car and asks him to clean the vehicle. He did a brief wash on the outside. I had to call him back to clean the inside again since there was also a dead BEE on the drivers window. Absolutely pathetic to give one of these cars out to rent. I get in the car and I'm about to drive off then the car beeps, tire pressure low and I bring the car back to the person cleaning and he said the front desk should have a pump to pump it. I already do not want the car as if there is a nail in the tire, I did not want to be liable for it... I talk to "Kevin" again and he said he did not have a pump. I told him I was not going to accept the car. He then offers a random car available (although electric) and I refused as I needed flexibility with gas. I asked what other options there were...and he said that the car sensor is ok. Just buggy and I can ignore it. Pathetic excuse for customer service. I asked if taking it to the airport would be the only option and he said "Oh thats a good idea" I then drive 40 min to the airport, deal with the staff there for another half hour, then drive back to my original destination...ultimately taking 2-3 hours of my busy morning. This experience was truly unacceptable. Highly recommend AVOIDING this location at all costs.

The car wasn't brand-new (nor did I expect it to be‼), but I just wanted something reliable that drove from Point A to Point B. My rental looked more than decent & was very dependable. I liked how convenient it was to drop-off my rental in their parking lot after business hours too! And I received my deposit back the next day. If you are looking for a car to look flashy in however this may not be the place for you. I subtracted one star because: Every time you rent from them, you have to pay extra for a credit check which I am totally fine with. However even if you rented a car from them a wk ago - you still have to pay for another credit check to obtain a rental. Also, I had reserved a rental using their online reservation system but when I called to confirm if the vehicle was available, the agent told me the reservation never went through. Finally, the rental car market was pretty much saturated in July (not their fault) + I was told to keep calling to see if they had any available rentals. The person who was answering the phones sounded a bit annoyed when I called multiple times. All in all, a great place to goif you are looking for an affordable rental car solution!!
