We rented a car from Enterprise in Santee, CA because our car was in a car accident. The repair company said the repairs would only take 7-10 days. Long story short, it took 3 months. Enterprise was there for us every step of the way. They gave us every discount that was available and every week when we had to extend our rental, they were patient, caring, always looking out for us. Horrible. Have you vacation plans cancelled and lied to at this location We reserved a car that they didn't have available when we arrived. We waited two hours in the heat and got something entirely different. No apologies , just rude and busy stuff. Full of excuses - short staffed, cars recalled and it's a busy season! We cancelled our spring break vacation due to that but didn't complain to anybody. However, later that day, a regional manager, I think, named Chris called to apologize and he offered 3 days of free rental of any car. He confirmed that he will send an email. I got no email from him, no voucher. Called head office, they promised that he will contact us ASAP and assured us that they sent him an urgent message. NOTHING We called the office itself, in Santee, and explained the situation. They have no idea. They just added an insult to an injury. It's a really bad place, don't go there and ruin your holiday! read more

Not sure what to say here... in line for more than 30 mins, just to pick up a car. About a dozen employees lurking around, but only one assigned to checking cars in/out. I don't think this is an employee issue but poor management at this location and an antiquated check in/out process. Do yourself a favor, go with Avis... much smoother and will take ya less than half the time. This guy is on point and pretty much as good as it gets no wonder hes the manager at least he was when I got service from this location back in september 2023 and just now getting to the review, thats how impressed I was that it stuck in my mind this whole time. These days I know that the overall quality of services and products has decreased after COVID-19 but not with this guy! ABSOLUTLY TERRIBLE!!!! Rented a 15-passenger van 2 months ago for a retirement party. I reserved the van for yesterday 6/20/25. I received a call from Enterprise on 6/19/25 confirming my rental of the van, which I confirmed. I arrived at 7:45am to pick up the van on 6/20/25, the location did not open until 8am. I am the first person in the building to pick up my rental and NO VAN!!! What, I am to pick up 15 employees at 9:30am and there is no van for me. What in the heck am I supposed to do??? I asked for 2 large vehicles like Surburban's, nope, that was not possible either. I asked what was I supposed to do now...all i got out of them was "I'm Sorry". Really, I'm sorry...yeah...I am the one sorry. I am sorry that I entrusted Enterprise with this very important rental, just to be left high and dry with no means to transport 15 people on a full day event. After numerous rounds and rounds with the desk employee, he comes up with an idea of me taking 3 sedans that will hold 15 people i do not have 3 drivers. I am the driver. If I wanted 3 cars and divide up the party, I would have rented 3 cars, but I rented the 15-passenger van for a specific reason...to keep the party intact, together! I called the corporate office and spoke with the most unhelpful person "Dawn", she absolutely did not care one bit. Basically...sucks to be you...meaning me. Now its 8:35 am, no vehicle, employee inside the Santee Enterprise office does not want to deal with the situation, has not basically moved on to another customer and I am basically stranded. I called my friend to come back and get me, since I was dropped off at the Enterprise office in the morning and did not have any transportation since Enterprise failed to fill the reservation. So now, I am beyond up a creek without a van to transport all of these employees who are to be picked up at 9:30am. Thanks a lot Enterprise, I cannot believe how irresponsible of a business you have become. So, I'm left to scrambles to get 4 employees to drive and split the 15 people up and continued with the day. I was promised that I would receive a call from a manager or someone who actually would care, but apparently Enterprise does not employ anyone of that stature. I never received a phone call, why, because Enterprise does NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS! Very poor service by a lady who said she was the manager. Was not friendly, engaging and acted like she was not interested in helping at all. Definitely not my the same as previous experiences with Enterprise. I talked to a couple other locations and all were extremely helpful with my situation. Even though I live very close to the Santee location ended up using the El Cajon location. All employees there were extremely helpful throughout the entire experience. New update October 2023 ~ My truck needed repairs with at least a week estimated by the nice folks at my local auto shop to get parts and complete the work. So I needed a rental car. I called Mia a few days ahead of time to request the same make and model I had the last time I rented from Enterprise. Mia came through, and on the following Monday I dropped my truck off for repairs. Nathan from Enterprise came and picked me up, to give me a ride back to their location. A blessing of kindness - Alexandria - was the representative who helped me. She put in the extra effort to get keys for half a dozen cars before we found one I could safely get into and out of. My ability to do most things is okay, however renting a car could have been a nightmare, but instead Alexandria & her Enterprise location manager Mia turned it into a happy dream come true. The staff are professional, friendly, and treat you like a member of their 'family.' Tried to give me a car with 1/2 tank of gas when I have reserved the car for a month! Agent told me she was sending someone to fill the tank,, but instead helped all the customers who came in behind instead. After all customers were helped ,, then another agent asked the lotboy in my presence " is that the car for gas?" . I watched as the lotboy left the lot in my rental to go get gas. Unfortunately this was 20 mins after the first agent said she was sending someone to gas up the car. Lotboy returned with a handful of snack bags! I rented a car from a Saturday through Monday (online). I made an appointment for a pickup at noon, and when my husband and I got there we found the doors locked and saw that they were only open until noon. It would've been helpful to know or not have the option online to pick up after 12. If we had gotten there later than 12 (we got there 2 minutes after 12), I don't know what I would've done. Luckily, when we got there, we saw an employee. I understand that people want to go home as soon as they're schedule is over (cause that's also my mind set when I'm working past my work shift), but a smile would've been nice. I am making a move from Santee to Oceanside. I didn't feel confident hiring even the smallest Uhaul truck, plus even though they charge only $29.99 a day, they charge $1.09 per mile, and it's about a 100 mile round trip, and I was going to be making at least 2. So I thought maybe a cargo van from a car rental company, and researched Enterprise. Online it advised me to call, because they were usually only available in Mira Mar, which wouldn't be an option as that's a very long Uber ride...so I called Enterprise and the call was answered by their call center and the representative advised me they had a cargo van right here in Santee. I asked her if she was sure, she said yes, and that I'd receive an email confirmation. Upon reviewing my email confirmation it indicated "Ford Mustang Convertible or similar". So, shaking my head I called the local Santee directly to explain my conundrum. Aaron pulled up my reservation and told me that they didn't have cargo vans at their locations, I replied that's what I thought, but could he go ahead and cancel my reservation, then he put me on hold a minute. Apparently, there was a cargo van there that somebody had ordered and just cancelled, so it was my lucky day after all. The next day Aaron picked me up from my house in Santee, and the rental process was effortless. The van was larger than I expected, and I was slightly intimidated at first, but it handled like a dream with lots of power even fully loaded. I made two trips to Oceanside and managed to move the majority of my stuff that I could handle loading and unloading alone. I returned the van this morning. I mentioned in passing to Travis, who checked the vehicle back in, that I had prepaid for the gas option, but had ended up returning it with the same amount of gas. He refunded that amount, which was really a nice surprise. I waited a couple minutes for Aaron to drive me back to the house in Santee. The total for this huge cargo van, including premium, full coverage insurance from Friday noon until Monday noon was $343. If I had rented the Uhaul for the same time it would have been over $504 including insurance and mileage, plus an Uber ride to and from the Uhaul. And there's no way any Uhaul truck would've driven as nice or ridden as comfortably as that Enterprise van. The customer service was outstanding at Santee Enterprise and they've made a loyal customer out of me. Thank you so much Aaron! read more

My insurance requested a car. The beginning was a little rocky. When I arrived I wasn't the most pleasant and their employee Carlos got the brunt of my frustration. He was very patient with me and was incredibly calm, even despite the fact I was not. Lol He took great care of me. Accommodated me through the whole process. Personally found me a car to best fit my needs. Communicated with me every step of the way. He took my one star experience with a completely different person and turned it into a 5 star experience and managed to turn the whole visit around. Employees like this are hard to find. Didn't have a vehicle available on the first day so we wait two days and come back to sit around the office for an hour. Lack of vehicles and excessive wait times are a waste of customers time. Service was pretty friendly and decent, but that hardly matters when you're sitting around waiting for a car for well over an hour. It was a holiday weekend and they were extremely busy with people in the office and calling.
