I'll start off by saying the place gets 2 stars solely because Erin at the front desk seemed like she was doing the best she could under the circumstances. Otherwise 0/5 stars for incredibly slow service for Nor who was responsible for bringing my car from the lemon grove location to this location. I had bad vibes from this shady looking employee from the moment I walked in. Ultimately, I waited 2 hours for my car because of Nor who took an hour and a half to go get a car that was in lemon grove 12 minutes away. I was given a BS excuse that he took so long because there was a car accident, but I looked up the route on Google maps while I waited and it was completely clear. This is my go-to Enterprise in San Diego. I find that they tend to have good inventory and speedy service, especially if you use the app and happen to be a return customer. And they recently extended their hours, so they are now open at 7:30 a.m. My favorite rental was being able to drive off in a VW Atlas for a multi-day camping trip. I was in and out, and received text messages while away to make sure everything was going well with the vehicle. The team is also very helpful and will try their best, sometimes calling other locations, to make sure you get a vehicle that fits your needs. This is one of the primary reasons I continue to return to this specific location. The only reason why I docked two stars -- and this is important -- is that the vehicles need to be cleaned. I have found dusty foot prints, ketchup stains on the vehicle walls and seats and, most recently, a wrapped toothbrush. And these are examples from three different vehicles. That's simply unacceptable. The team has a mini car wash on site, and there is no excuse for the lax cleanliness, especially in this post-pandemic world. read more

TEC ordered the leather, which arrived a week later. On New Upholstery Day, as I idled cheerfully in the dealership's service department check-in line, the lady ahead of me backed up until her car rested atop my bumper. I got out, cursing at her car. Then she moved forward. Though she'd done little damage, TEC's Service Manager noticed scuffing and pointed out broken chunks of foam behind my bumper. The woman's insurance company agreed to pay, and, working with TEC, arranged a loaner for me while my car's front end was repaired. My Enterprise rental process was smooth and the car they gave me was fine. If I'm ever hit from the front while driving a brand new car again, I'll certainly consider renting from this El Cajon branch of Enterprise Rent-A-Car. read more

She was also very pushy and tried to sell me their own insurance for $25 per day. Worse experience possible. My car was hit on Christmas, and needed to be repaired. I was being responsible by calling enterprise to ask the shuttle to pick me up and was informed that I can only make reservations when I drop my car off. The shuttle took 43 minutes to come. Upon arrival to this location it didn't appear busy- just me and another client waiting to be helped. Unfortunately the silver Toyota Camry with Illinois license plates smelled like TEENAGER FEET and THE ARMPITS of a person who has no never used deodorant. I took the car home and febreezed it, cleaned it up with my Clorox wipes. On Saturday I took my friends to Carlsbad and my friend in the passenger seat told me THE CAR SMELLS LIKE A DEAD FUNKY RAT and the seatbelt is MUSTY. I was never so ashamed. Spent about an hour, picking out the car and filling out all the paperwork early so they wouldn't have anything to do when I picked up the car as the car was not available at the time. Two hours after doing all this that has me to come in before 6 o'clock when they closed and I did and that's when they informed me that my car was going to be $15 more a day. I asked them why and they said the BMWs are more expensive. I said I've been in here for an hour working on all the details, pricing and everything and nobody said anything to me why is that, silence. Then I asked why wasn't I called so I didn't have to come all the way back here for nothing again silence. If I can give 0 star I would for the unprofessional customer service I received today. I am writing to express my disappointment with the experience I had at your location this morning. I had rented a vehicle through a different location, but shortly after driving it, I noticed the car was shaking and did not feel safe to operate. For my safety, I decided to exchange the vehicle and visited the [magnolia ave location in El Cajon] for assistance. I politely asked the manager on duty, who identified herself as Rylie, if there was a car available for exchange. She responded with attitude, stating there was only one car available and that it was a smaller model. I paid for a big car already, why would I take a compact one, I then asked if there were vehicles available at another nearby location, and she replied "no," again in a dismissive manner. Out of concern, I contacted customer service directly. They informed me that there was a vehicle available at another nearby location at a Toyota dealership --which, as it turns out, is also managed by Rylie. I proceeded to that location, only to receive a call from Rylie instructing the staff there to give me a compact car, even though I had already rented and paid for a non-compact vehicle. Fortunately, the staff member at the second location, Rayan, was helpful, professional, and understanding. He ultimately assisted me in resolving the issue, and I appreciated his support. While I'm grateful for Rayan's assistance, the overall experience--particularly my interaction with Rylie--was extremely disappointing. I felt dismissed, unsupported, and misled during a time when I was simply seeking help in a situation involving legitimate safety concerns. The worst company and the worst manager ever, I reserved a van 2 days before, went to the office and talked with manager to confirm if the van, they said they will keep the one we liked and will be ready by the reservation day at 7:30 AM ( which they lied about both), the next day we showed up on time, they said there is no van ready here, and they requested one from another location, which wasted an hour of our time, by then they brought a wrong size van, when we talked with them, they said it will take until afternoon to find the van we talked about, for a long trip we planned to leave at early morning, they ruined everything, they even lied about them trying to call us, which they didn't called us. I saw multiple more customers there, all pissed off of their service. The worst experience ever, all of staff were trying to avoid talking with us, scared of explaining their lies. We've been using this location for many years without a problem. But, today when they didn't have the car we reserved the Yahoo proceeded to attempt to put us in a smaller vehicle claiming it was because we used a debt card. While on the phone with corporate an appropriate size vehicle was magically found. Surprisingly my method of payment was suddenly accepted too. Had a horrible experience called before I came made sure there was a car ready when I got here. I've been waiting for about 30 minutes no cars ready the person I spoke with Aaron was supposedly a manager, but can't help me only has one way of payment option for a card that has three different ways of making the payment. This is stupid And bad service. They check you out with tablets, but you can't use tap to pay or the slide feature on your card so if you don't have a chip, you just can't use your payment feature. It's really bad and inconvenient and then they have people just standing around not doing their job. I've been waiting for my for a car. I have rented a few cars from this location, but my most recent experience with Armen and David was great. I had rented a normal car, but I saw a jeep I was interested in getting instead. Armen was able to help me upgrade, and provided me with great service. David quickly ran the jeep through the was. The vehicle had some damages from the previous renter, however I still had a great experience and Armen was very apologetic and provided me with gr service all around. I setup a rental through Costco travel for my husband and I to have a car while our personal vehicle was being worked on for the day. I get there and am notified I'm on a do not rent list and my rental is refused. This is news to me since I've used enterprise several times through dealership for maintenance over the years without a problem. I ask for information and they only have my name and I owe an exuberant fee. No actual date of the claimed rental just early 2016 (over 8 years ago), no credit card on file to refer to, no information about what vehicle was rented etc. They should at least have a credit card linked to it you'd think, because you can't rent one without it. Then I'm given a number to call for corporate to deal with it. I'm left high and dry without a resolution for that day. Luckily, my husband was able to return to pick me up before dropping off our car for service. I called corporate and was told the same info from 8 years ago with no information about the rental. I told them I didn't make that rental it's an error or fraud how do I get removed from their do not rent list. I was given 3 options: 1. Pay the exuberant fee that wasn't mine 2. Email corporate to dispute and wait for decision. (Up to 2 weeks) 3. Call police to report fraud (could take months) I emailed corporate and was responded back within an hour or so and told they've requested the El Cajon office's risk department to remove me from the do not rent list, but they're responsible to do so and will contact for more info if necessary. Still haven't heard from them with confirmation of this happening. So beware of being defrauded at this place and put on a do not rent list for no reason. Finding out about it 8 years later as if now you owe them when you never did. read more

They never talked to each other. The worst insurance I've ever worked with. There's no customer service, your adjuster never calls you and when you do, their VM is full so you never talk to anyone. Their choices suck as well. It doesn't connect you to the department you are asking for but they try to sell you other things like direct tv. What has that got to do with insurance. They asked me to wait in the crowded waiting area. After a time they called me and took me outside, like we were going to get the car. Once outside they tried again to sell me an upgrade. I was in an accident where my car was totaled, and insurance got me a rental car from Enterprise. I had this rental for upwards of 3 weeks with no issues, and I have rented from this location in the past, with good experiences, until now. When the time came where the insurance stopped paying for the rental is when my experience went from good to terrible, and there is no one to blame for that except the incredibly unprofessional, out of line, and completely disrespectful store manager", Mikayla. When I say I've never been treated this poorly, especially when I've been a good customer, and a repeat customer, I mean that. They were about to close when I was informed the rental deposit was due, so I asked them to extend me to the following day as I had appointments scheduled and work in the morning. Not a crazy request for a repeat customer who has been renting for weeks and has been communicative and responsive. Well you'd think I was planning to turn the car into a getaway vehicle for a bank robbery, the way Mikayla snapped instantly into an angry demon and demanded the car, despite my long rental history. Not only was she incredibly rude and condescending, treating me like a criminal instead of a loyal customer, her attitude was completely unprofessional, making the entire experience frustrating and unpleasant for everyone, like it's her job to repel good customers instead of appreciate them. To make matters worse, she heavy-poured so much unnecessary drama into the situation by reacting as if I intended to steal the car. She went so far as to call my emergency contact, and was a rude bitch to them, threatened to repossess the car, and the biggest insult: She threatened to report it as stolen!! Ok, uhhh what??!! Surely shes not threatening to get the cops involved as if I am some kind of car thief. Oh but she was!! This over-the-top reaction was completely unwarranted and only served to make the whole ordeal her personal shitshow. She's a mess. And a nightmare. Good job Enterprise. Here's the bottom line: Mikayla will continue to lose good customers for this company, as she is an entitled brat who lashes out at customers because being a cordial, level-headed manager would require she be good at her job, which she NOT.
