This Experience overall has been very inconvenient. It is now 10:00 am and I have been here since 9:00 am. I booked a reservation for a Tesla a week in advance thinking it was going to be available. I booked this rental through customer service and made sure that the vehicle was available. I paid for the reservation as well. As soon as I got here, they didn't have the vehicle available. The customer service rep i honestly didn't feel she wasn't trying to be accommodating. I'm not sure it has to do with company rules. However she explained that the only vehicle that she can accommodate is a camera which is a down grade from what I reserved. I Do Not appreciate this experience at all. This is my first time using Hertz. Instead the company was only able to give us a Kia but couldn't accommodate the price which makes no sense given the fact this was an error on their end. This process took over an hour. I'm not sure if customer service and the actual store employees are on the same page but this shouldn't happen to anyone else. I've had great experiences each time I've rented from hertz until December 2,2025 at the snellville location. The employee named icyses (isis) is very rude and argumentative. This young lady had the nastiest attitude when I asked about pricing and the best solution for my specific rental. She was going back and forth and even her manager couldn't get her to calm down. Not an ideal person that should be helping people at all. The manager LEFT the store and allowed her to finish my transaction. Unbelievable!!! I had a last minute emergency otherwise I would've gone elsewhere after that display of terrible conduct. She continued to be rude and didn't inform me about where the gas was or any instructions about the rental. To top it off the car was FILTHY. I can't help but think this dirty car was given to me on purpose. Including human and pet hair. I took pictures before I LEFT THE PARKING LOT. I'll just stick with enterprise a few miles down the street they even pick you up! Update: the manager called me the next day silly me thinking she was going to apologize and take accountability. I thought that I was getting a good deal buying a "certified" 2022 car from them and then within a year it started having problems starting and then was told well, you didn't get the extended warranties. I rented a car from here and returned it. I kept getting charged for 4 days straight as if I still had not returned the car. $425 in extra fees were charged to my card. Even though I was even sent the rental receipt saying I returned it on time EVEN AN HOUR EARLY. I called customer service and they said someone at the location failed to close my account when I returned the car. And I couldn't get in touch with anyone at the actual location until I DROVE up there 45 min away myself . All for them to tell me it'll fall off today AFTER the 4 days of daily charges. So 39 minutes prior to pickup time i call local location to confirm it would be available and was told the car was sent out for a tire rotation and would not be available until later today. My husband and I rented from Hertz Snellville for a short vacation, thought we had a great relationship with Hertz until we received a phone call from our credit card company the following weekend saying that our credit card had been compromised. Someone attempted to make a $ 200.00 or so purchase from Shoe Palace, and then attempted to make $50.00 more dollar purchase. The stars are strictly for the gentleman in the front with the braids/dreadlocks. He was amazing. He took care of everyone in the building with a smile. Even when the client in front of me was being very demanding for a circumstance out of his control, he was able to accommodate. I myself was impressed with his patience I must say. Exceptional gentleman! Wish I could hire him as my assistant. As for the car, it was definitely an upgrade from what I wanted initially but not the cleanest. They could have washed the vehicle and wiped it down (Covid protocol I would assume). The car smelled new thankfully. It came with a half of tank which was a bit annoying but nothing that altered my travel plans. Understaffed, no cars. Showed up with a reservation in hand. Overheard chatter from the 5 people in the waiting room that they had been waiting all day. There were 3 people in the offices in back that didn't come out to help move the line. The main guy checking people in left to "sanitize" a car for 15 minutes leaving no one to tend to the line. When he returned, he asked for my info and then made an announcement to everyone in the waiting room that they were out of cars. Terrible experience. With my knee brace, I walked to Hertz from the car repair shop down the street (Hertz does not have a pickup service). I arrived a little after 11:30 with a reservation and was told they had no cars. I was told, "Hertz always overbooks." Frustrated, I had no way home; I asked if any vehicles were due to be returned before closing (Noon). The counter person said, "Yes, but who knows?" I had no choice--I waited. Within ten minutes, a woman came in to complain about a mechanical problem with her rental; she wanted to exchange it. The counter person and the woman went outside, and she drove off. I don't know what happened with her, but when the counter person returned, he said I had a vehicle. No one returned a car while I was there, so why suddenly did they have the SUV I reserved? I believe employees use cars for personal use and tell customers they have no vehicles available. Because it was close to Noon, and I had a brace on my knee with no way home, the SUV miraculously became available. You would expect your rental to be clean; however, mine was filthy inside and out and smelled of cigarette smoke. Do Not reserve a vehicle at the Snellville office. Went to pick up my car at 8:30 am on Thursday morning April 6th there were at least 10 people in line and only 1 agent at the counter it took almost an hour to get service. Many of the people that had made reservations in the past few days were told that they didn't have cars for them even though they had confirmed reservations I had reserved a hybrid vehicle for a trip to South Georgia the car they had was a electric car. I was told that a hybrid and a ev were the same vehicle and they did not have any other options I could go to the airport and trade it out "they had a lot of cars ". So I book with the car rental company days in advance, to only be told on the morning that they don't have the car I had booked, but I can get another car at triple the price. This after waiting an hour longer than my booking time. The server was clearly on a go slow and became hostile once I asked his name. If you're on a time crunch, they will slow you down. Had a reservation at 9:30, car wasn't cleaned yet and it's going on 10:05am right now. Unfortunately me and my mom rented a dirty on the inside and outside of the car from this place, and called in enough time for it to be cleaned yesterday but it wasn't, it didn't even smell clean,and you would think with covid going on they would atleast rent a clean car , with the price over 600,+ it should have been cleaned we were not happy but it was at the end of the day and pressed for time ,I will be contacting corporate at my earliest convenience . I experienced the absolute WORST customer service ever at the Hertz in Snellville, GA after booking My reservation earlier in the day for a full size car I arrive only to be met with a complete attitude, you here for pick up or drop off, I reply pickup, we ain't got no cars and we don't do same day reservations, obviously you do same day reservations because here is my confirmation and I'm a gold member and I've never had to wait for my vehicles, mind you he had just told the couple in front of me that he had to upgrade them because he didn't have the vehicle they requested but not me he told me you gon need to pay more money to upgrade and we holding an additional $200 on your card as a deposit and you have to pay the difference to upgrade to another vehicle, I ask how much my $360 full size rental was now going to cost me $873 I said so because you all make an error with your vehicle supply it's going to cost mean additional $500? He said yes throws my card and my ID on the counter and started helping the next person who was also met with attitude we were the last two customers and he was alone but being overwhelmed in a position that requires you to deal with the general public is UNPROFESSIONAL to say the least I'm reading the reviews and this seems to be a pattern of behavior for this young man at this location, I have rented from Hertz for over 20 years at various locations, this was completely HORRIBLE customer service! If you can't be cordial in dealing with the public it's best that you move on because the company is going to lose more money and this young man is going to meet his match! FIRST ERROR Upon returning the car I left an item in the vehicle which was found and returned to the rental facility in Snellville however, now it mysteriously can't be found. So I guess they decided to keep my belongings for themselves. SECOND ERROR When I asked to speak to the manager her repeatedly told me the same story and didn't do anything about the situation. It was un-professional and we ended up having to get a car smaller than a corolla for a family of five. The service was terrible and when we got there they didn't even have to car cleaned. Horrible place to rent a car. Everybody who works there liar. They gave me broken car and can't replace it in more than two hours. All they said 20 minutes or you can call Hertz customer service. When I Hertz customer service you can not find anybody to talk about the problem. They can not print out my receipt that shows my contract had been voided. I would give it less than 1 if I could. I reserved a mid sized vehicle the night before with no issues. However when I got there in the morning and waited 20 minutes before being seen, I was told that they didn't have a midsize and I would have to upgrade to an suv, which was an additional 35 dollars! I told Malik that I don't understand why I was not notified and could he see if any discounts where available with my GOLD elite status. He quickly said no and this was the only option. Because I was in a hurry I agreed and then waited another 30 plus minutes before he finally came around with the vehicle. However, it was not the SUV he mentioned to me, it was a Honda HR-V which is comparable to a mid size or could also run as a standard based on truck and seating capacity. Total bait and switch on me and I was hyper upset at this point, but after waiting over an hour my wife was already late for the appointment. The front desk lady has a huge attitude problem. Mind you I was only there as a ride for my boyfriend whom was coming to pick up a rental. From what I heard in their conversation when I came in, she spoke with blatant distain. Face looks like she was bothered just by having to interact. When being told they should have him in their system from two weeks ago she said he wasn't in there and she couldn't help him due to not having a confirmation number and said they were sold out even if he did provide one. When I decided to look up from my phone she was staring at me with that same bothered face like she was just mad at the fact we were in there. My family and I planned a vacation to drive down from Georgia to Alabama to visit my wife's family. I reserved an SUV to accommodate the family, luggage and animals through Hertz in Stonemountain Georgia - a week prior to our departure. In fact, the day I was scheduled to pick up the vehicle I made it an appointment to drive by to confirm the vehicle reservation. I was told unequivocally "yes your SUV or like vehicle would be ready at the designated time". Two hours prior to the pickup date I received a call that the vehicle was not available and the only thing they could offer me was a mini-van. WTF... Zero Stars, but cannot post without at least one. This is the worst place I've ever been to for a car rental. They have no sense of urgency. It took 1hour and 49 minutes to return a vehicle. That was all standing in line to return the keys. It took all of 5 minutes once I got to the desk. I would never drop the key in a drop box. They are not dependable enough to get the key and show the vehicle returned. I will sit in rush hour for two hour and go to the airport as I've always done before I ever step foot in this place again. Funny how they can drop your price by $200 and add insurance. You know they get commission on selling insurance, right. I never but insurance from rental car agencies, I buy my insurance from an outside vendor, but they have their ways in this office. The day I was there a man was there in the office with a dog. An unleashed dog, who, by the way pooped on the floor and in this barley air conditioned office, we had to smell this while the owner went outside to get something off the ground to pick it up. If you go there, be prepared to wait a long time in this dirty office where no one cares about your time. I have no idea why Hertz still has this place open. Never see me in there again. This has been too long already. I want even go into how long it took to get the vehicle and how it wasn't the size I reserved. I don't even have the energy. Good luck going there. I had an unfortunate little kerfuffle with another car hitting me, so my car was in the shop. And, unfortunately for me, my insurance recommended that I rent a car from this establishment. Since I didn't have much of a choice, this was the place I went to. I mistakenly thought I could get this situation cleared before work, so I came here two hours early. The only reason I gave this place two stars instead of one was because they included (or maybe my insurance covered it?) a shuttle to and from the shop. Well, it ended up being an Uber and not a shuttle, but I liked that they offered that in their services. That was the end of my pleasant experience. There were several other people in line before I got here, as well as several sitting in chairs waiting for their cars, I guess. But the people that work here are just incredibly unkind, miserable people. I actually saw one of the workers berate someone because they didn't speak enlish very well. Despite the fact that the line quickly grew, there remained one person at the front. Even though I came right around the time they opened, a second worker came in about an hour late, and just milled in the back. I'm not sure what they were doing, but as the line grew inside, they just... never appeared. That meant the one person at the front had to answer the phone, bring cars around to the front, check people in, AND check people out. I mean, when the phone was even answered. That was a problem when I was intitially attempting to make an appointment, the fact that I had to call half a dozen times to even talk to another person. But I got a chance to see that in practice as the worker was unable to answer the phone because they were doing so many things at once, and they were rude about all of it too. I'd probably be cranky as well, but I would just quit if I had to deal with that amount of stress, as it reflects poorly on both you and the company you work for. At any rate, I wouldn't recommend anyone rent a car from this place. The customer service is terrible, the wait times will be terrible (you only waited 30 minutes? Well I waited almost 2 hours, with only two people in front of me...), and to top it all off, the phone will never be answered if you have any concerns. read more
