I made a reservation online and got confirmation for the car, I was really counting on the car since I had made plans with my family for the weekend and I called 1 and a half hour before my pick up time just to see if I could get it earlier and Abraham with Hertz answered the phone and asked the last name on the reservation and he said "Oh meant to call you to tell you I've got nothing available " to what I responded oh well that's not possible I made a reservation and got a confirmation he said oh well online does that sometimes, I said you could have emailed me or call me way in advance to let me know these things. I asked Abraham (Hertz) so that's it that's all I got I was counting on that car, is that as far as your help goes like no other option like a bigger vehicle like other place where I might be able to pick one up like nothing, he said and I quote "That's on you to figure it out". I always tend to go with Hertz when renting a car. However it's been a while since I needed to rent a car and it appears Hertz has really gone down hill. This location is especially bad. I spent quite a while looking online for a car and finally reserved a premium car online to pickup at 12pm at this location. When we get to the tiny office it's closed with a sign saying be back in 15 min. Considering there was 4 people waiting already it had been a while. When the lady finally returns she doesn't apologize for the delay nothing, in fact she has a look on her face like she's bothered by all these people here. Attitude doesn't change once we get inside. Frankly she should not be in a customer service position. Anyways after waiting for all the people ahead of me I tell her I had a reservation. By the questions she asked they had not even looked at my reservation. She pulls it up and informs me she doesn't have that car. I ask her what am I suppose to do as I did reserve the car online and had a confirmation and everything. She couldn't give me an answer, basically I'm sol. Tried calling Hertz and apparently they have joined the outsource your customer service to Indian bandwagon. HORRIBLE customer service, they could not care less about the issue I am having, all they do is repeat the same thing over and over hoping you just hang up in exhaustion. Called again asked for US support and surprisingly they transferred me to someone in the US. Night and day difference, I explained the issue and she immediately contacted the location, told me all they had there was a minivan and a pickup truck. She then tried to locate something in other locations and basically there was nothing other than a Taurus at the airport. So WHY I was given the option to not only book the car I did, but I could have also booked any other number of cars it showed available when in fact all that was available in the whole area was a Taurus??? Over 2 hours of my time and gas to drive to this place completely wasted. Can you imagine had I been coming on a flight or something and had no other transportation?? Amazon can delivery an elephant to my front door next day, but Hertz can't even keep track of what vehicles they have? Needless to say I'm over Hertz. read more

This location is THE WORST. Their staff is always rude if they bother to answer the phone and in person are even worse if that's possible . They have "given away" a rental I had when I showed up 2 minutes after it was reserved (there was NO ONE heading out so clearly they either rented it or never had it) , have forced me into a 30 dollar a day "upgrade" because they had nothing else available, and dumbly when I thought maybe to give them another chance called me less than an hour prior to a reservation I had made days before to tell me they don't have my vehicle or a comparable one anywhere in the area. The staff don't seem to know the classes of their companies vehicles (given a small SUV when a standard was charged for and just saying "we have one car and it's a SUV that's it" and refusing to reduce to the appropriate rate) and the vehicles are always in questionable working condition. I rented a GMC Yukon XL from June 22-29, 2019 for a family trip to Utah and I am very satisfied with the vehicle. If we go to a long road trip, this is the place I go to get our vehicle, aside from not too expensive compared to other rental companies but also I am confident that this vehicle won't give us problems on the road. Of all the time I rented vehicles here, I haven't encountered any issues that's why I given them a 5-star rating. I normally used online reservations here because for me it's easy and direct so that when I pick up the vehicle, no more BS or anything. For me, they are highly recommended. read more

Customer service is okay. The lady who helped us was nice enough, however I'm just completely shocked at Hertz's policies. Fiance and I pre-booked a car through their website several days before our trip. They had no problem taking our $216 for the booking. We came in to pick up our car and they requested an additional $200 for deposit. Surprising, but didn't seem like a problem since we had the funds on a debit card. The CSR told us since we were paying the deposit with a debit, that they needed to run a credit check. Neither of us have good credit, mind you, and this wasn't stated anywhere on their site when we were reserving the car. Their system declined us from moving forward with the renting process due to our score. We're now renting from Enterprise. Their daily rates are cheaper (by about $40) and they confirmed that they will accept a money order for the deposit. No credit check needed. read more

My insurance company placed a reservation for me at the beginning on the week. I called the day the reservation was made and the service over the phone was unnecessarily rude. The same guy kept answering the phone each time I called to ask questions, and always with the same attitude. The day I needed my reservation I called to confirm q pick up and they had no vehicles ready for me. Upon picking up my vehicle, the lady was professional but not any nicer than the guy on the phone. This location and Hertz in general used to give good customer service, but after I received a lemon of a rental, it took me hours and finally a two hour trip all the way to Sacramento to get a car that wasn't a piece of crap. When I phoned this location, the person was far less than helpful and actually very rude about my problem. I needed a car to drive around my aunt to look around the area. My car wasn't functioning so I got a car here. Staff had Excellent service here Glen was cool, he was professional and easy to talk. He gave me decent and clean car. I had to get picked up from my hotel. It took a while but at least I got a car. Not like enterprise, shame on you. Jerry picked me up, he was cool, he told me what I needed to rent a car. That was cool. After i was done with the car, Zeli helped me out, he was cool and professional as well. Twice when i rented a vehicle, my experience was great. The vehicles were cleaned and ready to go when I arrived. This time, I had to wait for the vehicle to be sanitized and cleaned. I didn't like the Sorento I rented and the interior was dirty. I called to see if I could swap vehicles, including upgrading, but they had no additional SUVs in stock. He did offer me to drive to the Sacramento Airport to switch vehicles (that was sooo not funny). read more

My husband and I rented a car through the dealership after our car needed fixed and this is where they sent us to get the rental. A couple months had passed if not maybe three or four and out of nowhere almost 4 or $500 got taken out of my account for a rental car that the dealership was supposed to pay for. My husband and I called The dealerships and they said they had already sent hertz the money. We then proceeded to call Hertz and then this is where it got really messed up they told us that it would take 7 to 10 business days to get our money back we waited guess what didn't come in tried to call the managers dodged our phone calls didn't call us back so we tried to get a hold of the dealership but there was nothing they could do. After a lot of long phone calls emailing people's bosses and trying to get our money we finally got our money back but we should not have had to wait as long as we did for money that they never should've taken out of our account. read more

Also when you call in to make a reservation they claim you don't get s reservation # if you call therefore there's no record of your reservation when you get there. HURTS TO RENT A CAR!!!! ZERO STARS...$1,793 in unneeded insurance through lies and deceit. THEY WILL CHEAT YOU OUT OF THOUSANDS My family has rented cars from Hertz many times over the years and when I came to need a rental car after I was rear-ended on 680 it seemed only natural to seek our Hertz on recommendation even though I have never rented a car myself before. Honestly, after being rear-ended with my child in the car and the other driver taking off before being detained by an off-duty CHP officer and ultimately arrested for hit and run I had no idea the true drama would begin with Hertz. I told DARCEL I had never rented a car before and that the other driver's insurance would be taking care of the final bill. He quickly set me up with a car and told me he'd bill everything to the other insurance company. I signed and initialed where he told me to and presented my credit card for the "deposit." I honestly didn't give it a second thought as i TRUSTED the business as reputable. Over 30 days later my car was finally completed and I returned the rental. About two weeks later my husband checked our online credit card statement and found a $1,793 bill for OPTIONAL INSURANCE!!!! I immediately called DARCEL to dispute the charge and left a message. He NEVER RETURNED MY CALL and when I finally tracked him down he refused to give me his bosses name stating he would "take care of it." He didn't and now I'm having to spend hours on hours filling out forms and complaints to get the THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OF UNNECESSARY INSURANCE BILLING REVERSED! BUYER BEWARE!!! DO NOT BELIEVE ANYONE AT HERTZ. THEY HAVE SACRIFICED ANY LONG TERM BUSINESS FROM ME, MY FAMILY AND MY FRIENDS. I am disputing the billing but I shouldn't have to. I had pre-paid for a rental to pick up on Feb 11th from this location. When we arrived there were going to be additional fees that needed to be all on the same card. Since i did not haveenoughon that card to add more he said he would cancel and refund onthe card i pre-paid with and recharged onmy regulat bank card. After looking at car it was too small for what we needed so we never got the car and were told the whole thing wkuld be canceled ( now on both cards) Now after endless calls i found out the manager did not put thru cancelation until Feb 26th. Awful experience. First I'm given a junky car with bird poop all over it and a clunky transmission. I was told I could get basic insurance for it for 15$ per day so I said okay. I go to return the car and now the cost is apparently 25$ per day for "this type" of car, which of course I was never told. Why would I care what the price is for insurance on a car I didn't rent? So of course the employee didn't help me, she just said contact that specific employee who told me that price, which will lead to nothing. Thanks for lying to me! This location is the worst in the country! I have rented from hertz in 27 states and 54 different cities. The rented me a car that I found drugs in and when I returned it the girl argued with me that she didn't rent me the car! I have never had problems with Hertz but the two employees I've dealt with at the Vacaville and Fairfield locations have no idea what customer service is! They even we're making jokes about management and customers as I waited one hour and 45 minutes to wait for the car that smelt and was disgusting they did offer me an upgrade for only 20 more dollars a day because it wasn't their fault that somebody partied in the size car that I rented! I was coming in last minute and they made a serious point to tell me over and over that I'm booking right before I pick up. I didn't realize that it's unacceptable to go in and rent a car when you needed it.
