We returned to Sonoma in 2026 with a small group and booked another tour. Booking and communication was a breeze. Very good. Ends up the property I rented offered a wine passport and we were to receive a discount. I called to confirm and they let me know the driver would apply the discount when we paid him the day of the tour. All sounded wonderful and was very clearly communicated. The tour in 2026 only went to 3 wineries. Two were just ok and one was not good. I don't think anyone on our tour purchased anything here. The time at each winery was like a typical tasting with some information on their winery. But no real information on Sonoma and Napa and the history of the area. At the end our driver had no clue on our discount and kept telling me he would get in trouble for charging me less. He insinuated I was making it all up. In the end he did honor the discount but seemed he did it as a favor not that it was a program that Platypus participates in. All in all I was disappointed in this wine tour and would no go on a platypus tour again and would not recommend them. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day. Luckily all the people on our tour were delightful so that made for a nice day.

Motor coaches, mini busses, vans, limousines, they got it all and they do a great job at showing up on time and in professional vehicles. Umbrella Bus barely got our passengers from Point A to Point B, did not do so efficiently, and arguably didn't do it terribly safely. We booked Umbrella for a 54-passenger shuttle to transport wedding guests from our wedding hotel to our ceremony venue, and then from the ceremony venue to the reception venue ($1050 total). I confirmed this itinerary with their staff by email and phone several times (at least three), because they kept sending me invoices that only showed a partial itinerary, but they assured me that they had the correct itinerary written down and would read off the correct itinerary on the phone when I called. On the first trip, the bus driver got the bottom of the bus stuck on a steep hill, rendering it unable to move. Guests had to walk nearly a quarter mile from where the bus got stuck to the ceremony site. The bus was also blocking the entrance to the park where the ceremony was held, meaning that park visitors and several wedding guests who were behind it were severely delayed in getting into the park. We had a couple of guests who missed some of the wedding ceremony because the bus blocked the entrance for so long. It would've been 3.5 stars if only for this, since it wasn't 100% the driver's fault, though he should really have known what the buses he drives are able to handle. On the second trip, though, despite me confirming the destinations in the itinerary with Umbrella MULTIPLE TIMES, the driver had somehow been given the wrong destination by their dispatch, and took guests back to the hotel instead of to the wedding reception venue. My family members had to argue with the driver, who insisted that he'd been told to take everyone back to the hotel, and "I'm only doing two trips, how will people get back to the hotel?" but he eventually relented and took everyone to the reception instead, but meant that most of the guests were delayed by quite a bit in getting to the reception. This definitely wasn't the driver's fault though, and was clearly the fault of the company/dispatch. He did eventually take the guests where they needed to go, which we appreciate.

Wonderful Experience with A Taste of SF Tours - Highly Recommend!…read more We recently went on a Muir Woods tour with A Taste of SF Tours, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Our guide, Peter, was excellent--professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable. He even texted us the night before to confirm the pickup time and location, which we really appreciated. Peter arrived right on time and emphasized his goal to start early in order to avoid traffic, secure good parking at Muir Woods, and get ahead of the crowds. Sure enough, his planning paid off--we bypassed a traffic slowdown near Mt. Tam, parked conveniently close to the entrance, and entered the park well ahead of the busier groups. This gave us a more peaceful experience and allowed us to take stunning photos without too many people in the background. By the time we were finishing the loop, crowds were just starting to arrive--perfect timing! We had plenty of time to soak in the natural beauty, enjoy the crisp morning air, and take in the quiet serenity of Muir Woods before it got busy. After our walk, Peter took us to Sausalito, where we had the option to either return with him to San Francisco or take the ferry back to Pier 39 or the Ferry Building. We chose the ferry so we could explore Sausalito more leisurely, enjoy a delicious lunch by the bay, and do a bit of shopping. It was a perfect way to end the day. Even though Peter has only been leading tours in SF for six months, he impressed us with how much he knew about San Francisco, Marin, Sausalito, and Muir Woods--he never ran out of interesting facts and stories. He's also a great driver, which helped ease my nerves on the winding road up to Muir Woods. (He mentioned he used to be a Grand Canyon tour guide, so he's clearly experienced with mountain roads!) As a side note, I've lived in San Francisco for 20 years, and this was my first time visiting Muir Woods on a tour. I had avoided driving there myself because of the twisty roads, but taking this tour was the best decision. It was stress-free, enjoyable, and gave me a whole new appreciation for this beautiful spot just outside the city. Highly recommend this tour to both visitors and locals looking for a relaxed, informative, and well-organized way to experience Muir Woods!

We parked in a garage right next door to it and it was $18 since we entered by 730. He showed up early and we went off to the next pick up spot. The shuttle was full but comfortable. We got to see some great sites. It was nice to check out the Golden Gate Bridge from a different angle. The Muir Woods were beautiful!!! Thanks to Peter, we got there early before all of the crowds that were coming in as we were leaving. Sausalito was a nice area. We had a really nice time on this tour and would do a tour with this company again.

In this case, it was beyond horrible. I had a terrible experience on the day of the event to start of, so I continued to emailed them a couple of days after to let them know in detail about our experience and NEVER got a response back. I then got an emailed to review our experience at the day of our tour and was honest about the whole experience being a terrible one. Of course they did not post it on their website, but why would they- it would take business away. Until that review, I finally got an email response. After reaching out and calling them to discuss this further, Drew Patterson, was by far the worst person to talk to. When attempting to explain to him what had happened, he shut me up several times and would not give me a chance to speak. Until I finally, of course angrily, demanded for him to let me speak. This is not how to you treat someone with customer service, nor do you tell them they are wrong. I could go on regarding the tour event but believe me, I thought Yelp will allow be to write such long review. With that said, AVOID GuideYou by all means. You will be wasting your time, money, and most importantly an experience that should be relaxing and fun!
