White glove service throughout my experience!! My Lexus RX 350 was repaired to perfection and you would never know that there was a passenger door dent and scrapes. Wow! Talk about an honest business...took my brand new vehicle in to get an estimate to repair damage caused by a valet attendant. Andrea went out to look at the damage to write up the estimate. After looking at it, she excused herself, went into the shop, and came back out with one of the guys from the shop. He had a bottle of some kind of liquid and a rag. He applied the liquid to the rag, rubbed where the damage was, and it came right off. He called it "transfer", where whatever the attendant brushed past transferred the color of it to my paint. My car was damaged when I had it shipped here from Hawaii. When I first went in for a quote Andrea and James were so attentive and helpful. James even made sure the other places I went for an estimate weren't trying to screw me over when it came to the repairs and price, which I was so grateful for. This is a tough place to review. I feel like this is a five star place at least, but my last experience gave me a bit of a warning. Background story: Some idiot scraped the front of my car so I called in my insurance to get a claim started. They recommended me to this place and so I went to get an estimate from them. I was glad I did. Although small you can tell that the workers/owner really loves their business and they were all very nice to me. There was also the added $100 discount from my deductible if I used Vacaville Auto Body Center vs. anywhere else. Vacaville Auto Body Center also has a rental car program (Hertz I think?) so it was a one stop shop. I dropped my car off, got my rental, and drove away. Yay! Now, this is where I dropped a star. They told me it would take two days to fix my car. I dropped it off Tuesday, and today is Friday, so it's been three-ish days now. I only got my rental car for three days so I was a little worried that I wouldn't get my car back until Monday of next week (because they're closed during the weekend) and end up having to drive the rental longer than I told my insurance company that I'd need it for. So I gave Vacaville Auto Body Center a call to check on the status of my car... The person who answered my call told me that they had found some more inside damages to my car and had to order more parts. She told me that the insurance company did approve the part replacement so I don't have to pay out of pocket. Now, that's VERY nice and all but where was my phone call?? It's my car and if they found anything extra they needed to fix shouldn't I have the right to know? I would have just approved of it anyways, but anything extra that has to be done should be informed to the owner of the car. Also, since they have to do extra work, shouldn't another reason to tell me be to inform that it might roll over to needing three days to fix so I shouldn't be worried if I don't get a call sooner than I'd expect? It really hurts to give them such a low rating. I want to give them five stars but I think the lack of keeping the owner up to date drops them one star at least. Bottom line: It's my car! I have the right to know what extra problems they find. It's only common sense to keep the patron informed right? I guess not! Rating: 3.5 Stars. read more

From the first contact via yelp to after I picked my car up, Vacaville Auto Body was friendly, professional and helpful. Andrea answered my initial contact via yelp and then telephone. I work graves, so she was always cognizant of my weird hours. She made all contact thru my insurance company and to the rental car company and explained the process to me. James was also extremely helpful in the process and immediately got on the phone to order additional parts when I dropped my car off when he noticed additional parts would be needed. After I picked my car up - which looked brand new - I received a call from Andrea. My daughter had forgotten her wallet in the glove box of the rental car. As someone who grew up with parents owning and operating their own family business - I will ALWAYS choose a family operated business vs. anything else! Family owned businesses just have that genuine customer experience through and through and Vacaville Auto Body is. no different - makes you feel welcomed and assured that your car is being taken care of! I brought in my 2021 Camry SE Nightshade that had damage to the passenger side window. I have a difficult work schedule so I had to have one of my sisters wake up outta bed and go take it for an estimate for the repair. No appointment, no previous call - just told her to show up and ask. After googling how much the part would be, I estimated the cost of the repairs in my head as anywhere from 375 - 500. Depending on how much labor costs were. Andrea helped my sister with an estimate, gave AMAZING customer service. My sister even texted me while waiting to speak to her and said " I love the way this lady is running this office - like a BOSS." We made the appointment for the very next day with a guarantee it'll be done same day (if the part came in on time). Next day, dropped off my car with ease and called in around lunchtime and spoke to Jim who was so helpful with a thorough status check! With my difficult work schedule, I wasn't able to pick up the car until after work hours - 5pm ish. So I had to send my OTHER sister to go handle the remaining balance on my behalf (don't worry I paid her back) and pick up my key! Once I got off work I was able to go pick up my car, which was right in front of the business looking all fancy with a new passenger side view mirror! The whole thing worked out great because I actually had to pick up my friends kid from after school program and take her to Sacramento - part of me was scared I wouldn't be able to pick up the car in time! Silly me for doubting this shop! Both my sisters and I were met with wonderful and welcoming customer service. Didn't feel taken advantage of or looked at as a commission bank. Andrea even estimated the repairs on an ACTUAL labor time rate and not up charged at all as the estimate clearly shows the direct price of the part ( matching my search results online ) and about an hour-ish of labor. It's the clear and effective communication throughout the whole process that really impressed me, as I've worked in a couple dealer service centers myself and am openly admitting to being terrible at it LOL I know if I ever need auto body repairs to go to them! Very unhappy I thought at first this was a great shop until There was problems with my vehicle after the fact my vehicle would not align and was told it was the springs and that would fix the problem NOPE vehicle still won't align and I was told it now needs new shackles 3 weeks have gone by no phone call from them nothing. They also replaced my glass that they broke and they claimed it was not broke but went ahead and fixed it thankfully now there is a bad air noise coming from the windshield I would rather listen to the noice then get interrogation and excuses from James the Manager not very happy with my overall experience with them read more

This auto body shop can fix any "curves (or dents)" you bring to them - after being turned down by a few shops (my job seemed to small to them)- being fairly new to the area was finally referred to Vacaville Auto Body / Showed James (Meticulous Manager) the front seat problem - he eagerly and promptly ordered the part and gave estimate (very reasonable) - the next day met Andrea (Counter Chairlady) who warmly greeted me and had the part installed in no time - good thing since I had my energetic Labrador and they let her hang out in the lobby - that is when Marlo (Obliging Owner ) came to the rescue with a in-prompt dog lease so she would not escape into traffic on Monte Vista when the door opened - did not get the technician's name but he did a great job - talk about TEAM WORK they have it / Will definitely return when the need arises - whether small or large body work highly recommend this long established shop !!! read more

It took some time to get everything fixed, but was well worth the wait. James took extra care in making sure every detail our car being fixed was as close to factory standards as possible and walked us through the entire process of the repairs, including showing us the pictures during the repair. I just went there today for the first time, and it was a great experience! The woman behind the counter (I forgot to catch her name!) was doing at least 5 different things and I still felt acknowledged and totally taken care of. I went in because the skid plate was basically off of my car, and the guy who worked on it (I want to say Nick? Horrible place worst experience ever. My car was involved in a hit in run I take my car there and let the trouble being. It takes almost 2 months to fix my car I paid over thousand dollars on rental car fees for tax and insurance. There was so many delays and 3 hours after I got my car I get a flat tire from the replaced tire and damaged area. Then 2 days after getting the new tire the rim they polished had begun to have scratches everywhere so I had to have them redo that. I just recently had a tail light changed and shop noticed some imperfection . When the shop took apart the repaired area they were in disbelief . Everything was done incorrectly and parts that needed to be replaced we're just poorly repair. Some parts of the car was simply glued together some of the welds did not even hold and they drilled holes in random spots. Rust was starting all in the repaired area and frame was not aligned. I highly do not recommend this shop they just did enough to cover up the damage . I recommend having your car double check to see if they took shortcuts on your vehicle . read more

I have no idea how this place has no reviews! Vacaville Auto Body is as good as it gets if you want to actually trust the people and work being done to your vehicle. The staff is great, curtious and helpful. There has been some amazing work that has come out of this shop! I have a couple air cooled VW's, and the owner Robert really knows his stuff, and not only loves what he does, but takes pride in his work, and cares about his customers and their vehicles. I typically do my own work to my vehicles, but Robert is the one I prefer to go to for parts, and the one I will call when I need something done that is beyond my capabilities. I live in Martinez, so it's no drive around the block to get there for me, but I still find it well beyond worth it to drive up there when I need something, knowing I am getting what I need, and not being sold wrong parts and things I don't need. Again, the people, the work, all top notch. I can't say enough good things, I would recommend anyone to go here, whether you need new car accident repair or classic VW restoration.
