Erin worked with me tirelessly in the months ahead of the wedding to understand my vision and help me piece together a design that would photograph beautifully. As someone with little artistic inclination, I was so grateful for all of her input. The day of the wedding, Erin arrived with everyone at 9am. She participated in the rehearsal to make sure that everyone would be positioned well to be photographed. She then immediately went inside the venue and got to work designing the reception space. Few people know this, but Erin is an aspiring floral designer. She took the DIY florals we purchased and created a design that was more beautiful than I ever could've pictured. When I finally saw the finished reception space, I was so thrilled I cried. We didn't pay extra for Erin to provide these services - she simply cared about us and wanted to make sure that our pictures were as beautiful as possible. We did a 1 year anniversary party/vow renewal/reception, so we definitely were going to have more people. Jeanne and I communicated what shots I wanted, who I wanted photos of, etc. Since we only had 30 guests, she came up with this brilliant idea to have her second shooter take portraits and candid shots of them. That way, their photos could be sent with our thank you cards. She also communicated the timeline beforehand, which I really appreciated. On the day of the wedding, she let us know when she was at the venue, and what time she would walk over to the hotel (the properties neighbor each other). She was prompt, professional, and always fun. My husband's family hadn't worked with her before, and she made them feel comfortable in all the photos she took of them. Based on our timeline, she had us take the family portraits after the ceremony. She was efficient, quick, and so funny. Everyone was smiling, we got through them quickly, and everyone was able to enjoy cocktail hour on time. It took about 1.5 months to get the edits back, and needless to say, everyone loved the photos. My father-in-law changed his Facebook profile pictures to the ones she took IMMEDIATELY. I think it's safe to say he liked them. I love how soft and dreamy the photos look. They're timeless and would look good anywhere. I love that the edits aren't too stylized and really captured how intimate and fun our event was. I would recommend hiring Jeanne for anything, really. We have only gotten to see a few of the pictures so far, but from what we have seen we are very excited to see the rest. The pictures were even better than I had planned mentally for! HAHA... When the time got closer to the photo shoot at the lagoon, she sent me instructions on how to get there and a friendly reminder about being prepared with water and sunscreen. It gets really hot out there. My suggestion for anyone with little kids staying at Aulani, do what I did. I took a taxi there so my son wouldn't be fussy and my makeup would still be on my face. We walked back to Aulani because it is a really short walk but by then it's ok if your makeup has melted by then. The photo session with Jennifer was great. She is very patient and understanding regarding how I am self conscious about weight. She is great with kids too. The pictures of me and my 6 year son were amazing. I was actually comfortable looking at the pictures of myself (I usually want to barf). I had a hard time picking my favorites because they ALL were beautiful.
