My husband did his homework before buying tires for my vintage car. The tires that had been on the vehicle were close to but not the same size as the original tires. This lead to my speedometer not reading accurately and the tires getting some rub. After determining the correct size my husband decided he really wanted Firestone tires. Our local tire shop doesn't carry Firestone so we opted to try Michel Tires Plus in Louisville. The process went quite smooth. My husband ordered the tires and set an appointment for the following week to have the tires installed and balanced. The business also does an inspection at the same time for brake wear and several other mechanical functions. On the day we dropped the car off the tire shop kept in touch with a slight delay in when the vehicle would be ready. (Only about an hour later than had been originally indicated). We are happy as can be with the new tires and how the car drives. We also were happy with the price and the savings we got by getting their charge card. I would have given the business five stars but they indicated we would be needing a new battery in the near future. Based on that information my husband ordered a battery from an auto shop and then did some checking. It turns out we didn't need a battery at all so my husband had to cancel the battery he had ordered. Although you only need so many tires I can imagine that we would give Michel Tires Plus repeat business. read more

I had been having trouble with my battery. I had the car jumped on Saturday and drove it a bit then sat with it running for 20 minutes. Went out Sunday and no go! A friend came and jumped me today, Monday and I took it to Michel's close to my house. I did not have an appointment but was going to wait anyway because I need my car. They had someone run out and check the battery and alternator, everything was good so that took all of half an hour maybe. I found the service to be good and the few people I talked to were very kind and professional. read more

I went to Michael Tires in Middletown, Kentucky to have new tires put on our car. Both counter help employees decided on the tires that would fit our card. They installed the tires and I paid for the services rendered. When I left their shop I heard the rubbing noise of the front tires when I turned left or right. What happened was they put tires on our car that were too large therefore the tires were rubbing are car body when turning to the right or left. The next day I went back to them and they both determined that they didn't know what was going to happen or what they could do. They said they would contact me in a few days once they got back with the tire manufacturer "which didn't have anything with them putting the wrong tires on our car". I told them to just put the right size tires on our car. They said they would get back to me and they never did. After I disputed the credit card charge they still did not contact me. As of 11-23-23 I still haven't heard from the Michael Tire Plus Store. I would never use their services again. And I do not recommend anyone use their services. They will not stand behind their word. read more

Customer Service is the key component that can make or break repeat customers. My experience @ The Michael Tires Plus was excellent. Charlie the mechanic in the back was very proficient, courteous and took the time to answer a quick question I had. He never made me feel like I was an inconvenience. He was very patient and I looked for hours trying to locate my DEF cap. (which is the entry point to top off diesel exhaust fluid). He found it with ease. I really appreciate your service, time and communication. Time management was of the essence and he truly does deserve recognition for his professionalism. AAA came when my car wouldn't start and said I needed a new alternator. They jumped the battery. I went to Michael Tire and they checked it out and said it was the battery not the alternator. They had me fixed up and out that same afternoon and saved me 400 dollars. They are always friendly and professional. I spoke with Mike and Ryan there. Great service! read more

There are several locations around the Louisville metro area, but my wife and I take our cars to the Middletown location on Shelbyville Road. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable; the prices are reasonable with various options on how to pay; the location itself is well-kept and clean; and it's close to the interstate as well as close to other businesses like Target, Walmart, and Kroger. My daughter had a sweeping/grinding noise coming from her car. I told her to take it in and have it checked out. Michel tire sent me email with the repairs they say JT needed. They said we needed to replace all brake components and even the brake master cylinder under the hood and the bill was $2140. I told them no way and had it towed to my mechanic and he fixed the shock bracket that rusted off and was dangling along with two new shocks. $388. I have that bill also. Avoid this place they are crooks. read more

They quoted me $225 for a Hankook Runflat. I only paid $160 for the same tires less than 3 years ago, so I knew that was extremely high. The service technician said he could knock off $15. I found the same tire for $145 at Walmart, so I had it shipped there. They were reasonable on the installation cost at least. They say they will offer double the difference if you find it cheaper within 30 days, but price matching wasn't even offered to me. read more

Most auto repair places get a negative image because of a bad experience by a few. This specific store has the best customer service I've ever experienced in auto maintenance and repair. You are always greeted upon entering the store with a warm welcome and a smile. My favorite part is that they always insist on calling with an estimated cost of work, even if you don't want it, so there are no surprises in your final bill. They do their best to save you money where they can, but NOT by cutting corners with cheap parts. I honestly can't think of a time where the final bill wasn't far less than what was initially quoted. I take all our family vehicles here and continue to because of the quality service they provide. read more

Best place in town for my car! I always get an appointment at the Middletown location. They staff know you when you come in. I've never had any problems with any work done on my car at Tires Plus. It's convenient, prices are good and fast. I can leave my car all day for tires, brakes and oil change. They were even able to fix my broken sun visor. I won't go anywhere else for car repairs. They seem very trustworthy and honest when working on my vehicle. They have lots of coupons that help me save money with each visit! read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had at an automotive shop The man at the register was rude, condescending and just because I didn't have 1600 to fork over for tires when I absolutely needed one and could maybe swing two told me to limp my car over to Walmart since that's where I bought my last tire because he wasn't going to just put one or two on my car. When I told him their auto center was closed he showed no help no compassion and repeated that I could just limp my car down to another Walmart then. I went to the tire place down the road who was amazing. I'm ones of those that will become a loyal customer when I can but the only thing this place did was make me loyal to another place but hey I'm sure they'd love to thank you for the business. Great service and follow-up, especially on an issue I had with Tire Rack. Even though my tires weren't purchased from Michel, they did everything possible to help me secure replacements for my defective Kumho's. When the replacements arrive. Very disappointing. Typical tire salesmen trying to take advantage of folks. They aren't interested in fixing or repairing a flat...they will make up stories so they can sell you new tires. They clearly want the short term business, not a long term customer relationship. read more
