If you love bourbon or are just starting to explore it like I am you have to check out Hewn Spirits in Peddler's Village. I've been here twice now, and it has become one of my favorite local spots. What makes them truly special is their commitment to the community: all their spirits are grown within 10 miles of where they are distilled. They use an 1800s Bucks County grist mill to stone-grind their ingredients, and they even recycle their spent grains to feed local cattle, pigs, and chickens. Whether you're into bourbon, vodka, tequila, or rum, or moonshine they have something for you. They even offer mocktails! My absolute favorite is the BMT--a perfect, refreshing blend of Dark Hollow Bourbon, a three-tea blend, maple syrup, turmeric, and lemon. They have a fantastic tasting room and offer both group tastings for parties and distillery tours. It's a great spot to gather with friends. The space is incredibly inviting, with plenty of character. Whether you want to sit at the long wooden bar, lounge in the leather seating area, or relax on the patio, it's the perfect place to unwind. You can even do a "Shop & Sip" while you explore the village! The staff is so warm and welcoming. On my first visit, they even gave me a fantastic dinner recommendation. They have a great retail selection, including infusion kits, bourbon-barrel-aged coffee, maple syrup, honey, and even delicious bourbon jerky. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in. I have been here twice! And I will always make a stop here any time I'm in peddlers village. It's a small spot and their drinks are absolutely delicious. I always get the avalanche. You must try you can't even tell there is any alcohol in it goes down like juice it's dangerous but the best! The staff is friendly. read more

I'm a sucker for local distilleries. That being said we came on the wrong day to really enjoy this business. In the midst of the holiday light season in the village, they were too slammed to offer flights or even provide much interaction with customers. They were providing hot and cold cocktails, as well as bottle purchases. We waited in line and eventually our turn came. I just got a shot of their single malt American whiskey, as I was sipping I bought a bottle for myself. At home I viewed the website to further educate myself. They use reclaimed very old wood to finish the spirits, some 300 years old. In the bottle I purchased they used chestnut and it goes well. I also like the high proof, just add a lot of ice. I'll try to revisit at a slower time to taste other products. Even being very busy we had great customer service, and it's a pretty chill place to hang out. They were extremely friendly and fun! Our group of 6 enjoyed the interactions and products so much, we made a few trips during our time sightseeing even bought a bottle, which they somehow found us and brought to us before they closed up! One of the final stops of our families annual Peddlers Village visit was this wonderful little distillery and to-go bar. We stopped in and were greeted by the very kind and informative Hollie behind the counter, who went through the menu options with us and even gave us samples to try of the different spirits. I'm a whiskey lover and was pretty impressed with the red barn whiskey, so I made sure to purchase a bottle before leaving. Hollie went through the history of the distillery, the owners background and even some of the really interesting unique distilling processes. I made sure to grab a couple of quick photos as I was sipping and then we were on our way back out into the heat. We will definitely be adding this to our regular stops during our annual trips! read more

Hewn Spirits is located in Peddler's Village. Cocktails to go are available and can be carried around the village! Shopping doesn't get much better. Hewn has rum, rye whiskey, and bourbon available to buy by the bottle. There is also T shirts, hats and other merchandise. The inside is rustic with a chalkboard menu of cocktails. The bartender offered tastings of the spirits. He was knowledgeable and friendly. There were 4 or 5 cocktails available in plastic cups with lids for carry out. I had the "Ryenot" made with rye whiskey, tart cherry juice and a few other ingredients. It was very good! Drink prices were between $10-$12 for 16 oz. A couple of tables were set up in front of the store with plenty of space between them. It was nice to sit outside and enjoy the cocktail. Hewn doesn't have its own restroom available. You have to walk around the corner to the Village rest room. Hand sanitizer is available. read more

Great spot to stop for a drink, cozy up from the cold, or order liquid reinforcements when braving the cold weather! We came here on Sunday afternoon to peruse the holiday shops and see some decorations at Peddler's Village. My dad and husband both ordered Old Fashioned, and could not get over how smooth the bourbon was - both contemplated purchasing the bottle but didn't want to carry it around and risk dropping it (at $35/350mL that would be a BIG disappointment). Both, separately, mentioned it being one of the best Old Fashioned they've had. I ordered a Spiked Apple Cider with vodka, it was exactly what I wanted on that cold snowy day - plus the cider was local, which is always fun! My mom ordered a Pomegranate Cosmopolitan (Pom Cosmo, it was called). She loved it! Due to the fact that Peddler's Village is privately owned, you can take your beverages to go and drink whilst wandering around! As long as you don't stray from the brick walkway! read more

Great friendly bartender and warm cozy atmosphere to relax with a drink. I only tasted their whiskey and bourbon, and although I didn't love them, I enjoyed the experience of locally made spirits. We picked up a bottle of their vodka to take home but haven't tasted it yet. They had an interesting thing in their gift shop... an empty bottle with 3 types of wood pieces, to experiment with aging your own spirits. Make a great Father's Day gift perhaps. Cheers read more

I am definitely a fan of Hewn Spirits and stop in here every time I visit Peddler's Village. My wife and I both ordered the Apple Cider with a shot of bourbon and it kept us warm for awhile as we walked around the Village. they have a great selection of specialty drinks as well as tastings. I haven't bought a bottle of anything yet but intend to in the future. Great place to visit and take the edge off of traipsing through all the various venues. read more

We won't be back, sadly. Hubby and I stopped by for an afternoon, weekend drink. The samples were meh. The vodka tasted like corn, even though it was wheat based. My cocktail with rum and sour was heavy handed with the sour. Overall, the drinks just didn't seem well thought out. I could forgive the beverage quality, but the atmosphere was the most disappointing part. There was a group of people at the bar, clearly employees of the place. We were the only ones in the main area aside from them. They were loud and obnoxious, as if it was their private basement, while playing a game. One even sounded like a manager/boss! I get it's a slow Sunday, but chill a bit while customers are trying to have a nice, relaxing time. The bartender was VERY accommodating and friendly, but I couldn't ignore his over the top dancing behind the bar. I was uncomfortable and couldn't relax at all. Between the drinks and the bar party, the taste everything left wasn't great. It's a shame because the location and aesthetic is really cool. Oh well. read more

Great drinks, relaxed atmosphere! The distillery itself is the pipersville location, but the tasting room in peddlers village has all of their whiskeys and such, and make some killer drinks to enjoy. Go for the Old Fashioned! They also have beer for the member of your group that isn't a bourbon fan. Cool! read more

This seemed like a great spot to come in from the cold after walking around the festivities in Peddlers Village. A simple order of 3 local hot ciders, advertised both from their outside booth or indoor bar is taking well over 40 minutes. I can't even comment on taste, as we're going upwards of an hour to get a drink to go. Only recommend coming in if you have time to waste or patience of a saint. read more

Wish I had gotten to try the product so I could leave a review! Although friendly, the staff definitely didn't have their thinking caps on here.. Or rather. possibly the management and owners. Was here over the first weekend of the gingerbread houses, the first weekend after Thanksgiving...wouldn't you expect to be prepared? I guess not.. Ordered some hot cider with the moonshine I believe. They were experiencing some "technical" difficulties when it came to the heating of the cider. This was fine, as we were not in a rush and willing to hangout in the cool, cozy spot. It takes approximately 8-10 minutes to BOIL water...but apparently 45+ minutes to get a few cups of cider to above room temperature. I don't really care that your machine broke..you could have offered us replacement drinks, a snack, something, for willing to wait anymore than 20 minutes for these drinks..but we waited 45+. You don't have a microwave? You don't have a stovetop? Anything? I could have gone to get a full sit down meal in one of the nearby establishments in this time frame. Not acceptable. Left without trying anything. The staff besides some friendly apologies, did not try to remedy the situation. read more

Huge fan of their product and atmosphere, not so much the prices for bottles. It wasn't very crowded the weekend of the scarecrow festival (the beer place down the way was packed). We were served immediately. You can get cocktails or simply taste the liquors. I don't know Jack (haha) about whiskey, but I really liked the bourbon. It didn't burn your throat like the stuff from the store. I wish they sold bigger bottles though. They're only about half the size of regular bottles but for the same prices ($29) for only about 12oz bottles. I think the gin and vodka were full 750ml size though. read more

Hewn Spirits uses local corn to make its own liquor and makes all of its own rum, vodka, bourbon, etc locally. They have special drinks combining such things as ginger beer, vodka, etc that are incredible. The rum drinks are fantastic. Average prices are $9. Highly suggest you give it a try. read more

Wife grabbed a cocktail off the wall $9 I asked for a double of shine rocks $26. Wtf. A triple tasting was $8 needless to say I'm not gonna go back. I'm not one to ask why so much.
