I was fortunate enough to visit the Bucks County Brewery on their first weekend open for business…read more They are a production brewery with a small tasting room. located off of 611 in Pipersville, PA, about five miles north of Doylestown. Their beers are far from ordinary. I was able to try three of the beers, a RYE ale, an Irish Red Ale, and their CrabAloupe Ale. The last beer was the most interesting, a beatiful english style ale with crab apples and cantaloupe added. They also make a porter called Barley Necttar that is a porter with bourbon soaked vanilla beans that had kicked by the time I got there. The tasting room allows you to sample the beers, and take home growlers, (bring your own or they will sell you one.) They currently have no food there, but in the warmer months hope to add tables outdoors and bring in food trucks on weekends. It is so nice to have a local brewery in Central Bucks, and I look forward to trying more of the beers over time.

If there are no food trucks, you can order from the local pizza place, and they will deliver to the brewery.

My wife and I were recently in these neck of the woods and we stopped in here for a little bit, with some solid suds results. You see, my wife doesn't partake in the brews (Invertase did have a root beer available, just for those curious), so this was solely a stop for me and something I wanted to do quickly. Luckily, despite the crowdedness of the place, Invertase had a few spots by the end of their bar area that we were able to grab while I sipped on a flight of four brews. Before diving further into those beer options, I'll say Invertase definitely had its fill of people on a Friday night, but that makes sense being the only place really in the area that was making its own beer. The interior seemed clean and had that "brewery feel", especially with the acoustic guitar man playing at the front. The people behind the bar were also pretty friendly which is always nice and not necessarily a given everywhere you go. Stuck on what to get to round out my flight, I was given a suggestion or two that helped complete things (and it was a mighty fine suggestion I might add!). Now jumping into those brews and what was available, Invertase definitely checks many boxes with a nice mixture of classic and eclectic options. Case in point: the Snowscape winter warmer was on point, while the Notes From Mom PB&J sour was...interesting. I can't say I hated it, though I'm not sure I could see myself drinking a full pint. Other brews looked and sounded good as well with a total of 10 options available. Not too shabby. Overall, Invertase Brewing definitely has a strong hold on the beer scene in this area (easy when they're the only guys in town!). They show some creativity in options while also delivering some classic beer style choices as well. Though nothing necessarily jumped out at me as worthy of cans (they had some available), I'd still venture to say I'd gladly return in the future if I find myself in these parts again. Well, I may be pigeonholed here anyway if they're still the only brewery in Lambertville!

We didn't make it past trying the beers. We knew the place had reopened under new ownership and wanted to give it a shot. We walked in and were seated promptly. Right away I noticed there were crumbs all over the floor. That's a major red flag, not a good first impression. Decided to try some beers. We placed an order with the waitress for three tasters. She informed us one of them was brand new, and all of their other beers were from the original owners. A minute later, another waitress came over and says that our server can't service alcohol because she's not of age and to give her the order. When I said one of them was one of the new beers she had no idea what I was talking about. Strange. What is most strange is that why is a server working at a brewery who can't serve alcohol? That's a new one for me. Let's just say the beers were awful. They were flat, tasteless and not entirely up the temp. We got up and walked out and went to the Trolley Barn across the street.

She remembered our drink preferences after the first round and even suggested a couple of off-menu twists that were spot-on. The food was excellent too. Everything that came out of the kitchen was delicious, well-seasoned, and plated with care. What really stood out, though, was how much attention Dee paid to the little things. She checked in at just the right times, noticed when we were ready for another round before we even flagged her down, and kept the whole experience smooth without ever feeling rushed or overlooked. It's rare to find someone who combines incredible drink-making skills with that level of genuine hospitality and detail-oriented service. Dee elevates the entire place. I looked around the menu seemed limited to different types of sandwiches but ok, nice snack for a late afternoon. Looked for be around $15 so normal price range. We were still waiting to beseated. There wasn't much in the way of business. maybe two people seated at the bar and two-three others at tables. Still, nobody greeted us or even so much as a 'be with you in a moment.' Kept looking around, no sign of wines made in the winery. not sure if it's still running or if it's been turned into an event venue but we were giving it every chance. The place has only limited hours to be open. It showed a limited menu and there was no way the place could have been called busy. For all the attentiveness of the staff, we didn't exist and with no one by the door I'm not sure what someone could have walked off with. Heck maybe there was a server there and she got stolen. In the end we left. Our last visit had been disappointing, but we were willing to give them another try. Against all odds this 2nd try was even more disappointing. It has limited hours and even then, the staff still can't be bothered to even say 'hello.' Save your time and give your money to a place that actually wants to greet it's customers

When we ordered, we were told the Black IPA was kicked, yet we watched 2 black IPAs be poured and were served to guests that sat down after us...not a good look. Our beers then hit our table around 7:35pm (Cutbank IPA) and we were honestly underwhelmed. At 8:000pm, 40 mins after we sat down, we flagged down our server and told her that we were paying for our beers but were not paying for the food that never arrived, and we left. Having worked in restaurants for 8 years myself, French fries and cheese curds take 6-8 mins in the fryer at most, and even if the pretzels were being baked to order, there is no way it would take over 40 mins to hit our table. On a Saturday night, I feel like 7:20pm is pretty much after the 'dinner rush'. The table next to us who were seated before we sat down, also commented that everything "was taking forever". They also received their appetizers (poutine and pretzel bites) and their entrees before we ever got our food. Our server only came over one time between the time we ordered and 8:00pm when we had to flag her down to tell her we were leaving. The only thing our server told us was that "the kitchen was backed up" and that she was sorry it was taking so long." I know you've only been open for a few weeks and we wish you the best, but we will NOT be back.

I tried the Black Tide IPA and the Bridge Street Belgium Blonde. Both beers are strong offerings. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. I love the small intimate space the brewery is in. They also have a nice sized outdoor patio that will be amazing once the weather warms. I'm excited to see what new beers they do next.

We started with a cocktail -- I had the special martini made with Lynchée juice. Served in a frosty glass, it tasted like a slice of summer. We shared the crab dip small plate as an appetizer. It came out piping hot in a cast iron skillet with plenty of crab. I had one of the special entrees - the seared duck breast. It was tender with a lovely sauce to dip into. My husband had the salmon. The portion was generous, and it was served skin side up -- perfectly crispy! The accompaniments were also very generous. The desserts that passed our table looked amazing, but we just didn't have room for any more. But we'll definitely be back -- and will save room for dessert! P.S. The view of the river also makes this a perfect date night spot.

What makes them truly special is their commitment to the community: all their spirits are grown within 10 miles of where they are distilled. They use an 1800s Bucks County grist mill to stone-grind their ingredients, and they even recycle their spent grains to feed local cattle, pigs, and chickens. Whether you're into bourbon, vodka, tequila, or rum, or moonshine they have something for you. They even offer mocktails! My absolute favorite is the BMT--a perfect, refreshing blend of Dark Hollow Bourbon, a three-tea blend, maple syrup, turmeric, and lemon. They have a fantastic tasting room and offer both group tastings for parties and distillery tours. It's a great spot to gather with friends. The space is incredibly inviting, with plenty of character. Whether you want to sit at the long wooden bar, lounge in the leather seating area, or relax on the patio, it's the perfect place to unwind. You can even do a "Shop & Sip" while you explore the village! The staff is so warm and welcoming. On my first visit, they even gave me a fantastic dinner recommendation. They have a great retail selection, including infusion kits, bourbon-barrel-aged coffee, maple syrup, honey, and even delicious bourbon jerky. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in. The moonshine comes in fun flavors like apple pie, sweet tea, root beer, and a few more! They also have a water bowl out front and a beautiful sign on the window that says Dogs Welcome. Other locations include Jim Thorpe (dogs allowed inside) and Williamsport (dogs allowed outside).

I think the tasting is very economical, esp for this area, and it was fun to try mini shots of some of their offerings. The root beer one was my fav, but I couldn't think how I would use it. The bourbon was good and I might have purchased but for the fact that there are many many great bourbons now, some being several dollars cheaper. I did get their clear 91 proof whiskey that I thought was unique, and somewhat tequila like. They have merch available as well as interesting food items that they make at the distillery. Trader Joe's may want to take a closer look to see if any product copyrights were violated ;) My friend bought picked onions that I'm curious about. Customer service was fun and informative, definitely a good spot to get out of the hustle and bustle of NH on a busy day!
