My husband and I purchased our first home in 2022, a house built in 1929 and, before us, owned by one family for 30 years. The previous owner had done a lot of patch repairs on the roof himself, so after the rains in 2022/23 and the hurricane this summer, those smaller repairs no longer held and we had a massive leak on our hands. We contacted a few roofing companies, but most were not willing to physically come to our home to look at the leak and give us an estimate. Hexagon was the first company that came out, and Jared showed up promptly, equipped with a ladder and a drone. He spent some time on the roof, took pictures, and walked us through what was going on. As first time home owners, we really appreciated that Jared was willing to take his time and talk us through everything. The issue was felt paper underlayment which was basically crumbling at this point, and the plywood beneath the roofing shingles was exposed and rotting. Jared gave us a few options, gave us a few quotes for those options, and encouraged us to get other quotes before making our decision. Ultimately, we went with Jared and Hexagon because we felt that their price was fair, and they give you a 50 year warrantee for the materials and a 10 year warrantee on the labor, and we appreciated the time and care Jared took with us during our initial inspection. Scheduling the job was a little stop and start, but once we got a time on the books, Jared and his team showed up, and replaced an entire section of our roof in one day. They even went out and got paint to match our house trim so that everything looked perfect, and they installed attic vents (which our attic DESPERATELY needed), that weren't even part of the initial quote. Jared's team took pictures of their work along the way, and while I wish the roofers had been a bit more communicative with us throughout the process (which we told Jared when he came to close out the job), their work was excellent. And the quote was accurate, no extra charges or hidden fees. What's more, we had a small issue with one of our front porch tiles getting cracked in the process of debris coming off the roof, and Jared went above and beyond to make sure the tile was replaced before he would accept final payment for the job. We're planning to have Hexagon and Jared come back to do another section of our roof that's not currently leaking, but has the same felt underlayment. I truly couldn't be happier with the work and customer service, and can't recommend Hexagon highly enough. read more

Hexagon (politely and professionally) contacted me to explain some misunderstanding in my previous review. I wrote that they wanted to bid on a more complete maintenance job, but they've explained to me that they really meant redoing all my ridge lines, which is much more extensive than the roof service I eventually got from another company. So, their bid, while higher, was also for a much more comprehensive project. Comparing that to the work I eventually got done is more like apples and oranges. I want to repeat that I never felt that Osvaldo and Hexagon were anything but upfront and professional. And from the other reviews they get, my impression is that they do first-class work. My feedback might be: it's fine to inform a client that there is additional work you recommend, and to bid on that. But if the client called for a more immediate issue, you might want to also include a bid for just the urgent issues. That could help avoid any confusion, like in this case. read more

Leo and the Hexagon crew did an incredible job replacing my roof. I called for a quote and Leo came out the next morning for an inspection. He was super helpful walking me through the steps they would take and answering all my questions, and their quote ended up being slightly lower than other roofers I met with. Hexagon Roofing just completed a full roof repair for our property in Westchester. I am incredibly pleased. Background - we had several leaks to repair - the roof was done (incorrectly six years ago) with shingles. Tom Malol, the Hexagon project manager, was patient and professional. He sent a team out to the house to assess the property and within a few hours I had a full estimate and explanation of the detailed work. The price estimate was fair and comparable to other companies (we had 3 companies come out and see the house). Hexagon uses technology during the process and it was very helpful as a home owner. I was sent picture links to previous work the company had done, as well as updated photo links throughout the process of our roof being torn apart, new wood being put down, and finally new shingles being placed on top. Hexagon completed the project within the time frame they promised and the roof looks phenomenal. They had 7 guys working on the roof - very well staffed and professional. What a terrible experience. Like every contractor, they were my best friend when the job was being bid and became less helpful with each additional payment. I requested a full roof replacement. I also requested a hole to be cut to properly vent my bathroom exhaust fan. I asked about this specifically several times, and the project manager said, "Yes, yes, yes." Telling me all of the, "Don't worry about it." BS that contractors do. When the job was done, they didn't do that at all. They left a left pipe venting to the o'haugin vent, which works but since we were going down to the wood, I wanted this redone properly. When I asked about this, not only did the project manager say he didn't understand that, but he also went on to say that's not the proper way. I'm not a pro, but I read articles about home improvement quite a lot, it's also very suspect when this didn't come up at the beginning during the bidding and planning but it did come up at the end of the project when they were in a hurry to get their final payment and leave. After demo and the permits, they left a gaping hole in my roof left uncovered. We have roof rats and raccoons in the neighborhood. I called them to come back and cover it up. They mentioned they don't normally do this unless it's going to rain, but really? A hole in the roof: at least 2ft x 2ft with no grill, uncovered for 2 days? Overnight would be one thing, but 2 to 3 days waiting for the job to resume? I don't need rats in my garage. Further, being reasonable I expected that I might find the errant nail or staple in my yard after the job was done. My gutters were absolutely filled with them and my yard was littered with nails and staples. It took a lot of time to clean out my gutters and yard to make sure my dog or kid wouldn't step on one. Then, they sent me an additional bill for $5,240, that I have to respond to them that I already paid this, I'm not paying it again. Now 2 months late, here they are with their permit fees. This company is disorganized and not helpful. I'm filled with incredible buyer's remorse, and of the four contractors that bid this job, I choose poorly. read more

Although Hexagon is more expensive than other roofers I received quotes from, I am giving them five stars because of Tom Malol's responsiveness and customer service. They came out quickly when my regular roofer said it would be well over a month. They repaired a wood section of the roof that had water and termite damage and installed a drip edge, as well as replacing some Spanish tiles on our garage. I'm not an expert on roofing but it looks like the craftsmanship was solid and they cleaned up after themselves well when the job was done. They also send photos as the job is in progress. I hired Hexagon Roofing in September of 2023. Osvaldo and his team began work on the 27th and finished on the 28th. I came home, enter-ed my bathroom and found an air duct protruding through my bath- room ceiling. Black debris found on my bathroom floor. I emailed David Lyani, project manager, twice on the 29th with my complaint and photos of damaged ceiling. 12 days later I finally hear from them. They send me the final payment and NO mention of the damaged bathroom ceiling. I pleaded with him to have him pay for the cost of the damage. I emailed David a written estimate for the repair of the damaged ceiling. Thank goodness that he'd agreed to deduct the repair cost from the final payment. So on December 21st, 22nd and 23rd, it rains. I get up from bed and walk into my bathroom only to find water and black debris on the floor. I emailed Abraham M, David L and the main office with my complaint on the 23rd. I got an email back from Osvaldo M. on the 26th stating that he will send his roofer on Thursday the 28th. I waited all day. His roofer did NOT SHOW! On Friday morning it rains again. Found water and debris on the floor, again. I Emailed Osvaldo about my complaint on the 30th. He emails back on the 2nd of January and says that his roofer had an emergency. Okay. It happens. He then says he will send someone on the 4th. That day comes and again NO ONE SHOWS. I waited all day and missed work again. I then contact David on the 5th about my com-plaint. He says he will have Osvaldo send a team for the repair. Finally someone came on Jan. 8, 2024 taking photos of things found wrong on the mast sealing around vents. These vents are not related to the ceiling damage. He only addressed that problem but not the main problem. Then on Feb. 1st it rains again. And I still find rain water on bath floor. I try to contact David Lyani & Hexagon to schedule another repair but to no avail. Finally they replied to schedule a repair. On Feb. 9th, I had them remove the bathroom vent flashing from the roof and seal the hole completely. Thinking that this will finally reslove the problem. Now its Feb.14 of 2025 and it rained for the past three days. I found water on bath floor, again! They have performed two warranty repairs so far and working on the 3rd. This is very frustrating. On Feb. 22, Hexagon finally arrives and repairs my roof, 7 days later after I posted a Yelp review. The roof still looks shoddy due to Osvaldo supervision. There are still some areas of concern that Abraham did not want to address. He tells me their committed to delivering quality, lasting work. I still have zero confidence in their work. Alan and the Hexagon Roofing team are rockstars. Hexagon Roofing has replaced my entire underlayment and enhanced the reliability of my roof for many decades to come. During the initial assessment and estimate stage, Alan has been nothing but honest. He has such technical awareness and knowledge of the issue and exactly how to attack the problem. He was able to assess root cause, provide corrective actions and identify additional changes that will prevent future occurrences of the issue and similar issues. Alan worked with me on a few different trade options on how I would be able to afford the fixes and also look at various coverage of the fix and additional correctio ns that would be well within price range. As such, I have opted for the most coverage of fixes that guarantees further enhancement to our roof. I am beyond satisfied of the overall value. The contracts and finance team were able to happily work with me on payment and in some cases, partial payments and scheduling accommodations. Thank you, of course, to Alan for acting as my agent in those instances. The team on the roof are the hardest working personnel I have ever seen. They came in early to start work and left the premises, each day, clean and maintained. Alan provided me videos and photos of the work in progress. In some of the videos, they captured how detailed the team are handling the various tasks at hand. I could see that they were working with the common objective of giving me and my family the enhancement of the roof above our heads. At the end of it all, the product and the work executed by the team is overly satisfactory. We hired hexagon in march to repair a leak caused by what they explained was bad underlayment. Little did we know, we had to deal with a long process of inferior work. The quote called for replacement of underlayment on on side of the upper roof, replacement of drip edge, which was not done, replace flashing, which was not done, and replace up to 6 plywood, which none were supplied or used. On the first visit, the company took out two rows of tiles and slide some underlayment under the tiles on top of the old underlayment and put the tiles back. They were in and out in 2 hours or so. We had to explain to the project manager Edwin that it was unacceptable. The old underlayment needed to be taken out and the new one put in and the reset of the quote they did not perform. They came out the second time two weeks later. They did half the job then left. They were only there for 2 hours and they claimed family emergency. The way they left the roof, water still got in the house when it rained. They claimed to have waterproofed the area, apparently it wasn't since several rows of tiles were not installed. They then tell me they had to wait on additional tiles. After a couple days, the project manager Edwin would not respond so I contacted owner, Abraham. Abraham assured me it would get fixed. The next time they arrived and finished the last row of tiles but they were not properly placed, more tiles were cracked, they used mastic to repair some cracks, the ridge line was not proper, the tiles in one corner were not laying flat. The edge was not even at all. They were asked to come out again to fix the issues after contacting Abraham for a second time and he said the same thing. He assured us the tiles with mastic would get replaced and the ridge line fixed. He did address the fact they didn't match and offered to spray paint them. We gave him the benefit of the doubt and left it up to him if he thinks spray painting would make it look better. We were more concerned about the underlayment and tiles getting installed right and the flashing was done properly. Although the drip edge was not touched and the flashing was not replaced. They came out that Saturday then said they will break more tiles if they go up there. They said they would come back the following day when they get additional tiles. We agreed. They should have had the tiles before Saturday. The following day, Sunday, they attempted to fix the ridge line, moved around tiles for them to lay flat but that is about all they did because we had pictures taken of the work and there were still tiles with mastic and broken tiles. We are not roofers but we still don't think the flashing is done right. They said if they have to repair the broken tile, it would break 15 more tiles because they were secured. Each time they came out we were riddled with nails and debris in the backyard. They semi clean the front yard. We ended up picking up after them in the backyard. To this day the issue is unresolved. 2 and a half months later still unresolved. I will be making complaints to BBB, license board, and any outfits we see fit. This type of repair is unacceptable. Would you pay 7k for this type of work and to have to tell them they did it wrong? read more

These folks did exactly what they promised: professional all the way! Matched their bid, did the work promptly, cleanly and with a minimum of disturbance. We were very pleased with the whole process! The roof was torn up by the February, 2023 storms, leaving us with a water-logged house. The insurance company refused to pay for any but a few of the most egregious damages. For example: they refused to pay for the roof repair, even where it was obvious where those areas of the roof were destroyed, allowing the rain-water to destroy the interior. The Hexagon people limited their work to those areas of the roof clearly obvious as the most susceptible to future damage, keeping the total cost to a minimum, something the insurance company was not even interested in! The job was finished in less than two weeks, with a minimum of disturbance to occupancy. Our cost was precisely as promised and the resulting product better than we imagined it would be. After our insurance said they would not renew because of what they claimed was rot on our roof (it was actually leaves), I called a number of roofers to clean and check our roof. Hexagon called back right away and Ido came out to look at our roof. We discussed what needed to be done, and within about a week Ido and his team were back. They did a through inspection of our roof, cleaned it and performed needed maintain ace. The great thing about Hexagon, and Ido S, is that they did what they said, when they said they would, and Ido was really concerned about doing the best job possible for us.
