The team from Lara's was great to work with from the bid process through the permitting, materials ordering, and installation. Our condo complex has 10 units across two buildings, and they did a great job on both, finishing one before starting demolition on the other just in case any rain came. We're in Santa Monica, which is notoriously difficult with the permitting department, but Roy represented us well and pushed back when the city made some silly requests. Roy at Lara's Roofing made getting a replacement roof so easy and affordable! I had received a notice from my insurance company that they would not renew the insurance unless I replaced the roof on one of the 3 buildings of a triplex in Torrance. From Yelp, I requested bids from 7 of the highest Yelp rated roofing contractors. Roy contacted me immediately, while some of the others waited 3-8 days before they responded. Out of the 7, only 5 of them responded, and I only received 4 estimates. It didn't matter because I had already decided to go with Lara's Roofing from day 1. I was also fortunate that he gave me the lowest bid. Roy was straightforward and honest with me from the first time I spoke with him. His communication skills are outstanding! My insurance company gave me a deadline to get the new roof installed which was difficult because it rained almost every day during the week leading up to the deadline, but Roy did whatever it took to get it completed! He also kept my tenants informed of any schedule changes due to the rain. His crew was always on-time!! He even took care of my tenants' concerns, which wasn't even part of the new roof installation. My mother's roof needed to be replaced, and Roy & his team made the process so seamless that I wish I hired them much sooner. Roy was able to tell from the front lawn that we had a wood shake roof which meant things would be a bit messier, but not a problem for his crew. I was initially nervous about the project because the Eaton fire had started a few days prior and the smoke and ash felt intense where we were. I worried that if the crew didn't finish putting plywood down then the interior would smell of smoke. But the large crew worked so fast that they removed the old shingles and installed fascia and plywood by the end of Day 1. To give me peace of mind, Roy even covered the roof with protective plastic sheets. The next business day, the crew passed the initial inspection and finished installing shingles on the entire roof. Roy had promised they could finish everything in 3 days so I was happily surprised when they finished even earlier. I really appreciated how the crew took care of everything--from putting tarps over my mother's garden to going over long-term care instructions. My tenants were very pleased since they work from home. I had a 40+ year old roof that leaked in the same place for as long as I can remember. Roy Lev explained how they would resolve this issue and when it came time, he called me to explain what they needed to do and sent me photos as well. I didn't end up using Lara's Roof for my roofing needs, so I cannot speak to the quality of the work, but I will say that I very much appreciated them taking the time to speak to me about the issue I was having with a leaking garage roof, and providing me with valuable insight even though they would not be performing the work. They took a look at the satellite image of my house, and indicated that it was not a job that they would be comfortable taking on, due to some complexities with an adjoining wall on the roof, but took the time to explain potential issues, additional potential problem sources that should be inspected, and even gave me a quote on the job if they were willing to take it on, which will be helpful to me as I evaluate quotes from other companies. But that really told me that they care about quality and will stand by their work product and warranty. And I very much appreciated the time and conversation when they could have easily just hung up. How you treat people speaks volumes, and I know from experience it is not always easy to find trustworthy contractors so I would not hesitate to give them a shot. read more

We first heard about Lara's Roof from other referrals in our town and are certainly glad we did. The job was to reroof our bungalow 1400 sq house along with the 2-story back guest house. We were very pleased with Roy's inspection/quote and decided to proceed after considering at least 5 other companies. The guys came in their truck on the first day to demo the roof and were done in no time. They worked very hard and were definitely efficient! After the demo, I believe they replaced all the necessary broken pieces of wood. On the second day, a truck dropped off materials. Typically they use a crane to load the materials on the roof but due to the front gate and palm trees in the front, they couldn't do that. So they unloaded on the front grass and later some guys came to bring the materials on top of the roof. Later that day was the inspection and passed with no concerns. The third day was the day of glory and the new roof was placed on and looks great! We also had a decent storm pass by and luckily no rain leaks! Roy was the main point of contact and delivered great service morning noon and night. For me, constant communication was key along with Roy's problem-solving abilities. read more
