HeyTea is a popular Chinese boba tea spot. And you can tell because it gets crowded easily with long lines despite having a lot of staff. I had to wait approx 40 minutes for my drink (they announce the wait time every now and then so ppl aren't caught off guard). My King Jasmine Guava drink was indeed of premium quality BUT... Customer service is horrendous. Maybe he was exhausted from the endless orders or something but the man who took my order offered no pleasantries. He seemed irritated and was rather rude. After I told him my first drink he immediately switched his tablet to the checkout screen. I said I wanted to order more but he said "no, order was already placed". But I didn't even pay yet?? Since when were we limited to one drink? There was no way I was going to the back of the line to order more. And I saw a few other frustrated customers after so this was not an isolated incident. Not impressed
The shop has a clean, modern vibe that's perfect for grabbing a quick drink or hanging out for a bit. The menu is full of creative and refreshing tea options. From their signature cheese teas to fruity blends, everything tastes fresh and thoughtfully made. I tried cloud crisp grape, tiramisu milk tea, and fluffy cloud mango. All were was perfectly balanced, flavorful but not overly sweet, with the right amount of ice and toppings. The staff are always friendly and efficient. The wait time is long (25-30 mins). I usually will order and walk around the mall for a bit and come back to pickup.
This isn't your typical Kung Fu Tea-style spot. The milk teas here lean more traditional--balanced, tea-forward, and not overly sweet. You can actually taste the tea, which I really appreciated. If you're looking for classic, well-made milk tea rather than trendy, overly sugary drinks, this place hits the spot. Just be warned there are long lines (order online from their QRcode posted on the window for quicker pickup)
I highly recommend HeyTea where you can get the best boba in Nova. Do not make the same mistake that I have made by going on the weekend and waiting in line. Download the HeyTea app on the App Store and order online. The hype hasn't died down here so expect a long wait especially on the weekends. My favorite drink to order is the Mango Grapefruit Boom with less sweetness. I also recommend trying any of their drinks in season as these rotate and tend to use the freshest ingredients. You can't go wrong with HeyTea due to their fresh fruit and high quality tea.
Loved the Heytea x POPMART collab in December 2025! The tiramisu milk tea was so indulgent but retained the fragrant black tea flavor. The sticker pack was absolutely adorable! I hope the workers here get paid well--this boba shop is ultra busy and it's not unusual to see a sea of milk teas on the counter ready for pickup.
Still going STRONG enjoying this spot just about every Thursday! You can say I'm a bit obsessed the prices are a bit high, but the drinks are soooooo goooood! My favorite is the triple supreme matcha and the supreme brown sugar boboa. The drinks are always consistent in taste. They sometimes have deals online where you can get discounts. However, sometimes the online ordering is temporarily out service. Overall, there's inside seating where you can wait for you drinks. The staff try to be as quick as possible, but sometimes there's a wait of 1hr!!! It's a super basic and sterile interior. I think they try and strive on simplicity. The lines here were astoundingly long. I was shocked walking in how busy this place is and you basically need to download the app to know your place in line and when to go pick up your order instead of rely on them shouting out your order. The amount of people inside sitting and waiting are just eye opening. It is definitely not a place to hold a conversation or relax. It is more of a war zone for you and the workers. Best approach is to come in with the app ready or order through the app and watch the order through the app. Go in, grab your order, and get out. Staying inside would probably bother you. As for the tea, I thought it was okay. I wanted to try it to know what the hype is all about. I am not entirely impressed by the quality to price compared to other teas I have had. I thought it was just okay, but great to have another choice than just Kung Fu Tea in the mall.
The cloud magnolia latte is so pretty and fragrant and flowery. Every time I enter this HeyTea and any other HeyTea location, I always get hit with a strong smell of flowers and fragrant tea. I can understand that it could be a little bit overwhelming because the smell is quite strong when you enter, but that is just a testament to how fragrant their drinks are. I've gotten their triple supreme matcha and supreme matcha but this time I got the cloud magnolia latte. Pretty much all of their drinks are very aesthetic, unique, and they taste great too. for what it's worth, it's pretty well priced compared to other milk tea places. The cloud magnolia latte has slightly salty sweet cream dollops in the middle with a sprinkle of matcha powder on top. Very lovely and mild roasted green tea flavor that lingers when you sip. Solid place and nice staff. They have an app and kiosks. Just beware when it is a (rare) BOGO because the line gets long.
I wish they had more milk tea options. They only have brown sugar milk tea so I got the jasmine tea and added brown sugar boba but I don't think there was much milk in it. I'm underwhelmed at the amount of boba I got and the size of the cup as well. The jasmine tea itself was pretty good o think! The boba was also good based off what I could taste of it. There wasn't much syrup though. I had the brown sugar boba at another location and I enjoyed it and the jasmine tea is good so I have this place 3 stars despite not loving this drink. I probably won't frequent here just because when I want boba I want milk tea with boba but they have other non boba yummy drinks too
I would recommend skipping this place during the weekend rush. I have been here a few times due to the convenience (during both weekend and weekday) and on the weekend, you may have to wait 30+ minutes for your drink. There is a screen on the left showing the wait and what order is being worked on. I made the mistake once of not seeing this screen before I ordered. I do think it is a bit over hyped. The drinks are fine. And honestly I still don't know what a "boom" is as you kinda get rushed through when you order at the counter and can't ask the cashier questions or you order at the kiosk.
My partner and I are boba connoisseur. We went on a friday afternoon. Waited and ordered almost a total of an hour (mind you they were still fairly new at the time) The staff a really nice and friendly. For how busy they were, you can tell they take care of their process. From drink to customer. Cute little place. Their boba was really good and their drinks were fun. The drinks are super good! I enjoyed the coconut mango boom the most! Ordered three drinks on a busy Saturday. Usually I would order on the app and skip the long line but this time they turned off the app. Such a bummer because I couldn't gain credits for my purchase! They have nice decor but since it was so crowded, it was hard to appreciate the view! Highly recommend you try this when you're in the area! read more
Customize your delicious boba drink in the mall, and you'll be surprised at how unique the sweet libations are here. But be forewarned, chances are you will be in for a long wait. That's a sign that this place either offers awesome value and delicious taste, or it's a new joint and everyone is dying to give this place a try. I think it's a combination of the two. Had to see what all the hype was about and so far, I get it. It's so clean and minimalistic inside. The staff were also friendly and helpful in explaining not only what was in the drinks, but how to drink them! I got the blue coconut cloud drink for the look of it, only to find that it was also delicious! read more
I got 5 drinks -Supreme Brown Sugar Milk Tea Boba -Yum Berry Boom -Cloud Mango -Mango Grapefruit Boom -Supreme Matcha Latte For what it's worth, the high quality ingredients is fitting for its price. Now for Service, it's still a fairly new and quite popular and so I waited in line for around 30 minutes or more but you have a direct view into the store to see how fast and efficient the workers are despite the really long lines. Overall, I'd say this place is definitely worth the wait if you're with friends as those 30 minutes blew by so fast with others. read more
New bubble tea spot in Tysons Corner mall. Like all the other reviews mentioned, the line here is ridiculously long if you come here on the weekend. I tried this place on a Monday night with no line. Service was fine, there are a lot of workers inside making drinks. The menu is a bit hard to find here, they do not have it on the front outside and when you do come inside they only have it on a small screen next to the register. The big TVs on the wall don't even show the menu. We ordered the Supreme Matcha Latte and the Coconut Mango. Both drinks were good and filled with toppings. Drinks are a bit pricey but that is to be expected nowadays. Worth buying but if you want to wait in that line it is up to you, I'd recommend coming during the weekday. read more

We've heard about the hype here and we finally decided to make the trip into the mall and check it out. We were not prepared for the line though. It has taken us at least 20-25 minutes for the two times we visited on a Sunday morning. We also learned that you kind of have to time your visit if you want one of the brown sugar drinks. The inside is a little hectic. Lots of employees making drinks (probably around 10) and a good amount of people waiting. Kind of hard to find a seat. The place is decorated nicely though. So far we've tried the Coconut Mango Boom, Bud Longjing Latte, and the Supreme Matcha Latte. All of them were very good. The Coconut Mango Boom was our favorite. So much mango in the drink and the fresh coconut jelly was great texture wise. The Longjing and Supreme Matcha lattes were also very flavorful for being minimal sugar as well. I would say its worth the visit. If its worth waiting in a long line is kind of up to you but it might be in my top 3 favorite boba/tea places in the area. read more
Their Coconut Mango boom is what keeps me coming back. Yes it is worth the long lines and wait times. I've also tried the Mango Grapefruit boom and the Mulberry Strawberry boom but my favorite is the Coconut Mango boom. You can get it less sweet and its just the perfect amount of sweetness. Also they use real fruits, not that powder stuff. I love that the fruit pieces are cut big which gives great texture to the drink. The coconut jelly makes a great addition also. As far as service goes; the staff are helpful and friendly. The lines can be long and stretches all the way out the door. This place is still new and they're probably still working out the kinks but I would suggest they have the menu on the big monitors. The only menu is at the kiosk when you're ordering and that simply isn't efficient. Also their pick up station is right where the line is and it adds so much crowding in the area. I would suggest they change that. There is a self-kiosk but both times I've visited; it was turned off. Overall; there's some improvements to be made to the store but I thoroughly enjoyed my drinks from Hey Tea! read more

It's been about a month since opening and there was still a line leading outside the store. The wait wasn't too bad, but definitely overwhelming once you get to ordering because you can't see the menu until you're at the front. With its popularity there are definitely growing pains because they messed up my order and had to refund then charge me for what I ordered originally, but they were quick with it! There's a kiosk in the back corner, but I think they turn it off when they're busy. I got the coconut mango boom and it was good, nothing to write home about. Not too sweet and the mango pieces are just blended enough. I think it's a nice stop if you're at the mall, but I wouldn't go out of my way to try this again if there was a wait. read more

I have been raving to my friends about HeyTea after I traveled to NY and Irvine, CA, so you could guess how excited I was to finally have one open up near me! It has only been about 2 weeks since they've been open, so I would say maybe wait about a month or something unless you don't mind waiting 30+ minutes for your order. I came here on a MONDAY during 2pm and the wait was estimated 35 minutes lol. Not surprised since this place is still new, but wow. I mean their quality is great, though. For those who don't want caffeine and are or aren't lactose sensitive, I highly recommend the oat milk brown sugar bobo. It's so smooth, creamy, perfect pairing with the bubbles. I think the most popular drink might be the mango sago one, though? There is a screen that lets you know when your drink is being prepared and when it's ready too. It is good to know so you can maybe walk over to another store and come back within the eta they give you. Either way, I love HeyTea and am super glad they opened one in the NOVA area! read more
Solid new tea place! Some nice and pretty concoctions. I had the Coconut Mango Boom and you can adjust sugar and ice levels. I got low sugar and low ice since I was getting it to go and the mangos were sweet enough. I didn't know how the coconut would be, but it's very soft like jelly. Service was standard, can be a long wait. My friend got the Grapefruit Mango Boom and it looked just like mine, so maybe they messed up. Would go back if I'm in the area, but nothing to go out of my way for. read more
The whole wait time from standing in line to receiving my drink was almost an hour, even though they had been opened for 30 minutes on a Saturday. I'd wait a bit until the hype has died down to get a drink, unless you like waiting in line. I ordered the Yumberry Boom, since they were out of the passion fruit one. It was still pretty refreshing and I would definitely come back, but not with a huge line. Lol. There is a small sitting area while you wait for your drink and they also have an app. I'm hoping that eventually they will offer online ordering. read more
Wow! This place was packed with a 40 min line when I went with my friends due to it opening so recently. When I drank my Grape tea and tried the cloud spirulina matcha coconut tea, it was worth it for the wait. I got it regular sweetness, but it was not too sweet which I liked. It was so flavorful and I could smell the tea leaves when I walked inside as well. You can tell the quality of their drinks are amazing. The chunks of grape added a nice touch to the grape tea. I was skeptical of coconut and matcha pairing, but it works magically. I was very happy with this place and so were my friends! read more

We visited on a weekday, and to our surprise, there was still a decent wait--though not as long as during the grand opening. Unfortunately, they ran out of promotional tote bags while we were in line, which was a bit disappointing, but we were still excited to try the drinks. I ordered the Matcha Bobo Shake with reduced sweetness, and it was perfect. The boba was nice and chewy. I also sampled my sister's Brown Sugar Bobo Milk Tea, which was truly delicious, especially with the added cheese foam. You can really tell that the tea and ingredients are high quality. The line was well-organized, and the interior was bright and clean. Seating is limited, but since it's located in a mall, it doesn't feel like a place where you'd linger for too long. The ordering process was super efficient, with a TV displaying orders in progress and those ready for pickup. One thing to note--it is on the pricier side, with drinks averaging around $8-$9 after tax. read more
I hate waiting in long lines , but I'm enthused to say that the 1.5 hour wait was worth it!! Coconut mango boom - good proportion of sago, the mango puree was so sweet and I enjoyed the chunks of real mango Cloud crisp grape - very refreshing, the cream on top is addicting to eat by itself. Enjoyed the texture of chewing real grape bits Brown sugar bubble milk tea - boba was bouncy and chewy and didn't get too hard in the iced drink. Extremely creamy for a milk tea but can still taste the tea flavor My only complaint is that the mango boom was all melted by the time my other drinks were ready due to mistiming. I was in Irvine when I first saw HeyTea and the wait time for a drink was crazy like over 1 hour. When this location in Tysons Corner opened, the wait times were crazy as well. I finally got to try it this past weekend. The ordering process is pretty seamless as you can order via the app. You can also order in store via Kiosk or in person. However, I notice that they close the app ordering when the demands are high or when they sell out certain items. You also earn points and rewards to get freebies if you join their loyalty. Getting to the drinks. I got the triple matcha and my wife got the cloud matcha latte. I ordered the drinks on the app before I headed to the mall. The drinks were prepared when I arrived. As far as the taste, I would give it a mediocre rating. The toppings: matcha mochi and matcha jelly both had smooth textures with a little bit of a chew while being super soft. The toppings were warm so I would recommend shaking or stirring the drink really well. The matcha latte was overpowered with the sweeteners that were added. The matcha jelly shined more than the matcha latte. They have a few places to sit inside but most people take and go. read more

Mmm delish! I ordered the Coconut Mango Boom and I loved it. It was like drinking mango sticky rice in drink form. The drink had mango pieces in it, a creamy coconut base, and coconut sago. It was sweet but not too overbearing in my opinion. I loved the texture of the coconut sago as it added a fun component to it. Would love to try their other flavors! read more

It's so good - like WHAT? I waited forever though but worth it! Was super crowded in the mall because it was also Labor Day. I haven't tried the brown sugar supreme yet but it looks good! my go- to is the cloud mango so far i didn't really care about the matcha blue it was kind of bland I tried HeyTea in LA and loved it and i'm so glad they opened some around my area. BUT still a little far! Please come to Columbia Mall, White Marsh Avenue, or Ellicott City! read more

Finally was able to try this place on a weekday. There was no line and was in/out within 10 minutes. It does take a while for the drinks to be made it seems. There is a single kiosk located towards the back to order. Every drink had a picture and a detail explanation. The cost per drink started around $7 to $9. The ambiance was very relaxed with a few tables. A great addition to the mall and will be back. Enjoy! read more

I hate to admit that I can get behind the hype over this tea spot. I've ordered the signature supreme matcha latte and the jasmine tea cloud on several occasions and they have been consistently delicious and not too sweet. Ever since I saw lines for this place I have only ordered during "off times" and the wait was not too long. Nowadays I order on the app just in case! The service is friendly even on those super busy days. It is a well-oiled machine back there - they have a lot going on with a lot of workers cranking out orders. Luckily, there are a decent amount of seats in the place, but not really meant to linger if it's crowded. Super casual and quick place to grab an afternoon pick-me-up and head on out. Still one of my favorite boba places to grab matcha in the area. read more

Finally, HEYTEA has arrived in NoVa! If you're used to boba made with powders and syrups, this will ruin other shops for you. They use real fruit, premium tea leaves, and actual milk. HEYTEA at Tysons is a must-visit. read more

The tea was very flavorful, and a great experience, but not worth the wait and hassle in my opinion. We waited about 10 minutes to order, and then another 30 for it to be made. The app is nice because it will tell you when the tea was ready, and the tea itself was good, but the busy mall made the experience less enjoyable read more
Overall pretty decent fruity drinks! I saw this place all over my social media so my friend and I decided to stop by. I think we were lucky cause the line was super long on a Sunday afternoon. I got the strawberry fruit drink while my friend got the mango coconut drink. The drink definitely tasted more natural and less sweet; however, it wasnt mind blowing good. I think I prefer the mango drink more but both drinks were good. We went with our server's suggestions of less ice and less sweet. Overall, I thought it was just an average good drink. read more

My wife and I stopped by quick a few times previously but the lines were so long. Luckily this time we just need to wait 5 mins to make our order but we were told to come back in 30 mins to pick up the drinks. After 30 mins, the drinks were ready. We ordered the cloud coconut blue and the bayberry. Both of them are ready good. It is a bit pricy compare to its competitors. read more

Boba selection is limited but that's great for people who can't make decisions ! And the quality of this boba tea can't get better, I am loving the cloud matcha and cloud mango, would come back to try different flavors too. Sadly the price is kind of crazy, but quality makes up for it. This place has been super popular (lines almost out the doors), so you will have to wait for your drink up to 1 hr. Service is nice and quick otherwise. I hope the workers get paid extra because every time I have been, it's crazy busy! read more
Would recommend coming on a weekday for a bit shorter of a line! Ordered the Mango Grapefruit Boom and Supreme Brown Sugar Bobo Milk Tea. Both were made fresh, very delicious, and not too sweet. The Mango Grapefruit Boom tasted sort of like a mango sago, and there was barely a grapefruit flavor -- very refreshing and comparatively light for a "milk tea." The Supreme Brown Sugar Bobo Milk Tea had cheese foam on top and boba nicely coated in brown sugar -- on the heavier side but very tasty, and be sure to mix the drink well beforehand! The staff are super efficient despite many orders. Some indoor seating available, though most of it is taken up by people waiting for their drinks to be made. Probably one of my new favorite boba spots in the DMV! read more

Saw this store while walking around the mall and noticed the huge crowd inside waiting. With this many people, it must be good, right? I ordered the cloud matcha latte. A couple of thoughts: 1) I'm embarrassed to say that it took me a few minutes to figure out how the cap opens. I've never seen these caps before, so twisting it was not intuitive. I wished they had arrows or something to make it easier 2) the tea and cream foam topping was really good. The sweetness level and matcha concentration was perfect for my taste 3) $8 for this drink without any toppings and/or fillings seem too much for me. read more

Service is great, ambiance is so so! Seating areas is filled with people waiting for drinks not much room for anyone to sit and enjoy drinks and chit chat. I ordered Guava Purple Grape slush, but i got what seems to be the green grapes instead with hardly any guava or grape pieces in it. Also, it was melted liquid form than it is slush. The flavor of guava is great overall my experience was so so! Might return in the future where wait isnt over 40mins + and give it another try and re-rate it read more
