Hands down the best burger in the city! Everything is locally sourced beef from the Hollenbeck family farm, always fresh and hormone free. I used to love this place, but now I'm very concerned that their quality is slipping. I went in with my partner today to get my usual: a make you own on a wheat ciabatta bun with cheddar cheese (super boring, I know) with waffle fries. He ordered the stadium brat burger with waffle fries. The meal comes out with some very sad, non-waffle fries (and if anyone has had their waffle fries before, you definitely know that they were absolutely amazing). We asked the person who brought us our food if there was a mix up and she just shrugged us off and said that they switched to natural cut fries. That's fine and all, but why weren't we told when we ordered our meals with waffle fries that they no longer served waffle fries (and their website menu says they still serve waffle fries)? To add to that, the fries were not well cooked; they were very limp, and my partner's were very oily, as if they hadn't been properly drained before being plated. On top of all of that, because my burger was not properly shaped before cooking and one side was much thicker than the other (which I know can happen with patties that are not pre-formed), about 30% of my burger was partially raw. It made it so that I was concerned with consuming that portion of the burger, and had to leave part of my meal unfinished. Again, I want to say how disappointing this visit. It was very out of the ordinary from our usual visits and I hope that these sorts of issues don't continue. read more

Shocked and disappointed. I love Nebraska beef, it's the best, but crave is doing it wrong. Maybe it's the cook, maybe they are a little TOO proud of there beef, but it is definitely over priced for what you get. I had a bacon cheese burger, a basket of cheese balls, and a beer and it was almost $18!!! Ridiculous. The burger was mediocre (patty was not that big, bacon was thin and greasy) and should not have cost $9, the cheese balls were good, and the beer was local and good (just marked way up). I will never eat at Crave again, one time was too many. Eating local food at import prices... Eventually the client base will wake up and the honeymoon will be over. There is another place in town that does burgers for half the cost and they are twice as good (check out "sips and subs" on Saturdays). Not to mention, buying local beef at the grocery store along with a package of Jisa's cheese and a six pack of lucky bucket beer... The reviews comparing Crave to the chain restaurants miss the point. What goes into mass produced ground beef is TERRIFYING (see: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/04/health/04meat.html). It's cheaper for a reason -- it's nothing you should eat. Crave uses local, hormone and steroid-free, grass fed beef, and local cheese and bread too. Given that, the prices seem perfectly reasonable, and the burger size (1/3 pound) is almost twice the USRDA recommended meat serving (3 oz). If you're still hungry, get some sweet potato fries ($2.50 for an amount that served 2 adults and 2 small kids). I am THRILLED to have a restaurant that supports local, high-quality food producers. I don't mind paying $10-$12 for a meal to do it. I'm more of a medium-rare fan myself, so I found Crave's standard of medium-well a bit too overcooked (if safer). I dropped a star off what would have been a five-star for the very LOUD environment With all of those hard surfaces and the narrow room, they don't need the radio so loud. Against our better judgment we decided to try this place. We were very suspicious in general of the positive reviews as frankly Lincoln does not know good eats. I agree with the other reviewer, the beef patties are terrible. 1/3 pound of likely frozen, pre-pressed, spongy nothingness. Cooked to well done. Bun is entirely too large. My Cowboy burger had a few onions, bbq sauce and that was it. For $8 it's a pretty raw deal. Sides were ok, nothing special. It's very plausible that all their sides were frozen and dropped into a fryer. Five Guys has better burgers. Greta's has even better patties you can make at home for a perfect mid-rare. After trying the burger I commented of how the taste reminded me of the nastiness of McDs. Not a good thing. read more

Hollenbeck farm natural beef plus Le Quartier bread makes a great meal. This small burger place has hit the ground running. I had to check it out with all the hype and was not disappointed. I stopped by Sunday afternoon on my way back from Lincoln and was impressed. The metal walls, blonde tables and feel was very nice. Wonderful signs surrounded the space proclaiming all natural beef brought in from their own ranch - how cool! My burger, the stuffed blue cheese, was out of this world. Scalding hot cheese oozing with each bite, the moist and buttery bun was the perfect compliment. Throw it all together with a Lucky Bucket lager and I will be be back soon. One of the best burgers we've ever had! As much as we travel, we always try to explore and find different kinds of restaurants and foods. We absolutely love the farm to table aspect, and the actual burger was amazing. Great flavor, perfectly medium well, and juicy but not greasy. My favorite place for the best burger in all of Lincoln. A little on the pricey side but well worth it. Come hungry and leave satisfied. I always get the same thing but I don't mess with the best. Cheeseburger and waffle fries. The bun from Le Quartier Bakery really makes burger and the bonus dipping sauces. Last but not least is they have Coke products. Hard to find in this town as being a transfer from KC. The kids that work there are friendly and happy to answer an questions, very clean. This place is super yummy, it has to be one of the best burger places in lincoln! I've only been twice, but between my husband and I, we have tried the Stuffed Black & Blue Burger, PB&B Burger, Stadium Bratburger, & the Rasta Burger. All 4 were amazing. The had such fresh ingredients and were juicy cooked to perfection burgers. We've also had both the waffle fries and cheese bites. Both were very good but the cheese bites were a little greasy for my taste. The best part is the special sauces that come with them. In addition to the specialty burgers you can make your own, or have a hotdog or salad. I'm so glad I found this place because my husband lovers burgers and I don't so it's difficult to go to just a burger place but I'm pretty sure I could eat here at least once a week. I would say that the interior also looks nice and clean but I don't think the chairs are comfortable. They look like metal but they are a hard plastic type material. I don't mind that much but even if I did they let you order to go. Staff is also very friendly. Cost is about $10 per person. Definitely worth the price. read more

Our two favorite guys no longer work here, the fries our now freshly made but they're very short crispy fries that are served in a small paper box and the quantity has gone down since them getting rid of waffle fries. Waffle fries may of been frozen but they were good and seasoned. Either make the fresh better and not short stubs that feel like your getting crumbs essentially or go back to waffle fries, I don't feel like I'm getting my money's worth anymore here and this place use to be my favorite. I've purchased meat from Hollenbeck Farms before and it is fantastic so I was thrilled to learn about this restaurant that serves up their wonderful products. I had the HF Stuffed Black and Blue burger, and shared a Crave Trio of sides with my dining pal. The burger was delicious as were the waffle fries, sweet potoato fries and the cheese bites. I will be returning to this place again. I was standing outside waiting for my friend to arrive and saw lots of people going into Chipotle and Noodles, the restaurants on either side of Crave. The best burger in Nebraska. I just moved to Nebraska a little less than a year ago. This is my favorite place to grab a burger. It is a bit pricey but well worth it. The burger is big, the fries are great, the establishment is kept clean, and the employees are all friendly. When I first went in and had no idea what to order, I had the cashier order for me. To this day I still get that order. A couple months ago I brought my extended family in when they were visiting from Pennsylvania.
