Açai bowl in Kaneohe, O'ahu, Hawai'i…read more.. I happened to be near Windward Mall and saw this food truck across the street from Zippy's, so I parked the car and walked over. There were some customers from the new Planet Fitness... this location is so convenient for them! The service was super friendly, efficient, and helpful! The young gal told me what wasn't available since it was just about closing time and they had run out of a few items. I decided on the #2: Ōhelo Papa Bowl or "Strawberry Bowl" with blueberries, strawberries, banana, granola, raw honey, and açai sorbet. It was very filling, fresh, and beautiful! Thanks for the stamp card! I'll try all of the bowls! Also - thank you for the açai smoothie sample while we waited for our order! Your thoughtfulness is much appreciated!

I love peanut butter on mine so I added that on and it was amazing. My daughter was pretty hyped about her bowl. She got matcha ice cream instead of the acai. Of course we couldn't eat it all so we brought home the rest. The service was relatively quick...we got there before a bunch of customers lined up so we didn't wait that long. The price for $15 a bowl seems about right since a bowl averages around $7 or $8 elsewhere. There aren't any tables to eat at so you just order, grab it and go somewhere to eat. We ate in the car. Lol. The ladies take their time to ensure the order is correct and are very friendly. Love the vibe. They offer a loyalty card (buy 10 and the next one is free)! Lots of parking either on the street right by the truck or park in Windward Malls parking lot. Check them out the next time you're craving a huge bowl and support local.

This place has always been solid for me. It was my first time at the Kailua location, and they were super helpful. I ordered the Kailua Monkey and had them go light on the peanut butter, and they had no problem customizing it. Everything was quick and easy, even though it was pretty busy. Parking was easier than I expected too. There are a lot of shops there, but I didn't have any trouble finding a spot. Inside is a little tight, especially with a couple strollers in there, but honestly it wasn't a big deal. I still got my smoothie fast, and it was really good. Just a heads up -- they may use Skippy or organic peanut butter, so if that matters to you, just ask for organic. I'll for sure be coming back when I'm in the area here, they made it quick easy and I was out the door in no time. Definitely recommend! SYOY! Deb B

It's a gentrified and heavily congested area with all the tourist that visit year rounds. The parking is horrendous so I would suggest visiting mid-late morning on the weekdays or just before they close if you want to beat the rush. I order the same thing from Lanikai Juice because this smoothie is that good! I typically order the Kailua Monkey which consists of soy milk, peanut butter, banana, protein, honey and ice. This is the smoothest and most creamy smoothie you'll ever enjoy. The service was fabulous on the day I visited. The female who took my order was very friendly and they complete my smoothie in less than 10 minutes.

I'll explain later. Before we even went to the location, we yelped it. We saw they had Açaí bowls and shaved ice. When we walked up to the store, the front window had all the items that was "available." I'll post the picture. When we walked in, we asked the older man if we could have 2 Açaí bowls. He yelled and said it's not açaí bowls, it's only the bottom part...NO FRUITS! My daughter pointed at the picture that had an açaí with fruit, right behind the old man. He said no fruits!! Ok fine, so we are still getting charged $8.60 for a medium size cup of only the açaí and no fruits? That's pretty expensive. Even the very best açaí bowls with fruit aren't that much!!! So we decided on the shaved ice, he said we don't sell shaved ice here! Now I'm really confused. Maybe they use too. But all the Yelpers/customers had pictures of shaved ice and açaí bowls. Our 4 girls decided on the ice cream that was in the deep freezer by register. The older lady kept shutting the freezer door on my girls because they took too long to decide. It's not like the ice cream was going to melt in 30 seconds, but whatever. Never again will I come here! The pictures I posted are of the front windows. Each picture, I zoomed in closer so you can finally see the "sign" that says no açaí bowls! I circles it in red. They definitely need to update pictures inside and out as well as the yelp account.

But when my niece was out here, she stopped by and said the food was really good. They also had live music. So when I found myself heading home from my parents, I stopped here to eat cause I was starving! I entered and it was a little busy so it took a while for the friendly server to come give me a seat, and she apologized. The menu is pretty extensive with a lot to choose from. I decided on the Hapa Loco Moco, a corned beef patty and a hamburger patty. I also asked to sub the kim chee fried rice, which is extra. I also ordered a side of mac salad, which was good, but different. But the Hapa is really good! Rich gravy over it all. I do wish there was more corned beef than potatoes in the patty, but it was good. I do recommend getting the kim chee fried rice because it's AMAAAAAAAAAAZINGLY delicious! So full of flavor! The service was great! Lots of locals coming in as I was getting to leave. Great place to come to! Mahalo Cafe Kalawe!!!

The manager automatically argued with me saying it was the right amount and told me I'd need to purchase new bowls if I weren't satisfied. I did argue for 2 new bowls to be made she then asked me for the 2 bowls I had brought back and threw them across the room into the trash. Completely unprofessional! It baffles me that they continue to hire horrible workers. They should either get someone in there that is able to run a business smoothly or close the location. Absolutely HORRIBLE!!
