Tried out another brewery location for Hi-Wire Brewing, located in Asheville. On this particular beer outing Steve and I had the Lo-Pitch Hazy IPA and we liked this beer pretty well! More refreshing than a lot of IPA'S that we come across. Flavor highlights is juicy, hoppy, citrus and fruity. It is also a very light bodied IPA that is something Steve and I can always appreciate as we often gravitate towards lighter beer fare. read more

I bought two shirts and a sweatshirt. This is a very family oriented brewery, I saw many kids and families here. They have beer of all different styles so there's something for everyone. I normally don't like local brewing companies when I visit cities and towns across America but for me Hi-Wire is 5 stars! I had the peach pomegranate beer. I am not sure what the others in my party had but they liked their beers as well! We enjoyed playing a game of Bucce (?) I am not sure if that is who you spell it but we had a great time! Never been a huge fan of hi-wires beers but I do love their spaces. All the breweries including this one feel spacious and inclusive. Upon entering, parking kinda stressed me out. Lots of signage about being towed if you're in other lots. Luckily I found a spot owned by hiwire. Honestly not sure what I would have done if there wasn't one. We came on a Monday so it was not too busy. Cute and warm igloo plastic pods out front. Interesting. We sat in the main area inside and it was toasty. No like toooo warm. Be sure to jot sit under a heater. Haha luckily we were able to turn it off. The bar wasn't too busy. I appreciate that they have na options (two beers and some lemonade and such). Might be helpful to add on some ciders and/or wine like other places have done. Friendly staff and decent prices. Again- love the space. Nice tables and an easy flow. Dog friendly. The outdoor area in the back (beer garden) was under construction but I have heard only awesome things. Can't wait to come back in summer/spring. read more

So we were looking for a brewery that was close by the Biltmore and happened to find this place on yelp. It is a huge warehouse with event space outdoor dining and indoor dining. Although the dining does not come from the actual brewery it's from the food truck that has a permanent spot outside serving primarily hotdogs hamburgers and cheese fries. The bruise in general are tasty. All indoor dining tables are appropriately socially distance for COVID-19. Guess I required to wear masks until seated and employees are required to wear masks at all times. They have multiple different brews on tap! We started with The high wire Lager and the Munich rye longer. Both were light and refreshing. For the second round we went for things that were a little bit darker including the strongman and the black Pilsner. The strongman was very heavy on the coffee flavor and the black pils was a bit strong for me. We were at the "Big Top" location near the Biltmore Estate. Great brewery within walking distance from the hotel I was staying at. Nice spacious area and table seatings. They have a variety of different beers to choose from and we were able to taste them before picking the one we wanted. I got their lager, which was refreshing. My friend isn't a beer drink so she got a few can cider, it wasn't too great. Friendly staff members and someone even gave me a glass of their freshly brewed beer. It was nice of him to let me try it. There is a food truck outside of the brewery if y'all are craving some foods. read more

Five stars for some good brews and some great hospitality. Everyone here was super friendly and helpful. The beertender allowed me to try different brews while I honed into what I wanted to drink. I had a sour with lactose and it had a great finish (tropical punch). Their lager was very good too. Overall the hospitality would make me come back for sure. read more

A really fun brewery to visit, with a lot of space and plenty of games and activities. The beer selection is very broad, however, and you'll need to weed through a lot of ones you may not like in order to find the few gems. I would swing by again possibly if in the area in order to try a few more, as they have a lot of unusual offerings. (The pickle one, for example). Never really found one to write home about though. There are some pretty good "beach beer" sours at least, but nothing I was excited enough to bring home to a beer share. read more

Awesome experience in the igloo. There's no heat but it does get a little warmer because of the lack of airflow. It's a great opportunity to try something new if you're in town visiting but otherwise the brewery is great in general. Plenty of social distancing and hand sanitizer is available everywhere. There are not a ton of vegetarian or vegan options actually I should say none at the food truck but they have french fries so if you have dietary restrictions just be aware that you'll probably only be able to drink here. My wife and I planned our route to the Isle of Palms SC to go through Asheville, NC so we could visit the Hi-Wire Brewery. We first sampled their Strong Man Coffee Stout beer in Louisville, KY. Their Asheville location did not disappoint, every selection was phenomenal, especially the brown ale and baltic porter. There was plenty of seating at this pet friendly brewery that features a circus theme to their selections. The customers' dogs were so much better behaved than their children. Breweries should allow animals but NO children under the age of twelve without being tethered by leashes or halters. Better yet, free beer voucher if you present a receipt from the baby sitter. read more

This place was very unique and hidden. I enjoyed the beers and they did offer two 4oz beers, but they were not doing flights which was sad. They had some good outdoor seating with a few igloos to enjoy. The biggest downfall of this brewery was the bathroom. It wasn't super clean and did not smell good. I would recommend this place for the beers, but the atmosphere during covid did not seem to be the greatest from others in the area. read more

I'll be honest~ we come here for the $10 Burger Nights (on Mondays). I'm not a beer drinker personally. Husband reports in that the beers are good, but not mind blowing or particularly stood out. We have been here twice, and neither time did we see any non-beer beverages for me (wine, cider, mead, etc)- but maybe we just missed it. I ended up ordering a soda from the food truck. (When I asked about non-beer I got a bit of a cold shoulder from the staff at the bar. IDK. Maybe it just that particular Monday.) Felt rather unwelcoming. We will keep coming for the burgers, but this isn't "our" brewery. It's fine. read more

It's a quiet place compared to their other location. So glad we checked this one out! The beers are always amazing and you can do some people watching of the production of beers. They are doing a great job with COVID, staff were wearing their masks correctly, spacing out implemented, and everything was very clean. read more

We happened upon this spot at the end of our weekend touring breweries in Asheville. It was very quiet on a Sunday evening, which was fine for us too. The tasting room area is at one end of the production facility that houses the bottling and brewing function. It's a different feel than most of the smaller tap rooms in Asheville, which I liked. They also have a outdoor beer garden which would be great on a slightly warmer night than we were there. There was only one staff person there, and she was very friendly and knowledgeable about the beer selection and helpful with suggestions and information. There is cornhole to play and giant Jenga to keep you entertained while you enjoy your craft beer. The beers were tasty. It's hard to rank beers because it's so subjective but these were among my favorites in Asheville. read more

This place was amazing. It was my first time to Asheville and everyone kept saying "try the beer"! Hi-Wire's lager didn't disappoint! The atmosphere was great, they had a good truck, and thankfully a little gift shop so I could add to my collection of brewery branded glasses! I'd say my top three were: 1. Hi-wire Lager 2. Uprising Hef 3. Hi-Wire Rose (although this was a little sweeter!) If you are in the area, definitely stop here and try it out. Had our wedding in the bier garden in September. Venue was beautiful, everything went pretty well until after the event. Our parents offered to pay our bar tab the night of as a gift. They were told 20 minutes before event end it was about $1500 total (750 each), which is roughly what we were quoted. No final bill was given, they never were asked to sign a receipt. 2 weeks later they were both charged $1600. It took weeks for us to get a hold of anyone helpful who would send an itemized list. Multiple charges for drinks we didn't even have available to the guests, clearly added in to up the total. The most infuriating thing was the bartender cost. We already paid $30/hour for the bartender. They charged us $500 for the tip (in addition to the cash jar they had out). So they made $130/hour+ to pour beer and wine (no mixed drinks involved). To this day we can't get anyone to explain how that was put on the cards when no one signed off on it and we have been stuck footing this bill. Completely ridiculous, and very regretful we trusted them with our event. read more

I've been frequenting the Big Top more often. Nice big bar and plenty of space, plus you can look down an see the whole operation down the other end of the building. Hi-Wire has some really great beers, and they are all available here. And a few you can get in a Bier Garten style liter mug! I prefer the rye lager and the brown ale, and my wife lovers the Hop Circus IPA. They have a permanent food truck outside (Foothills Meats), or Standard Pizza is right across the street. They have plenty of parking, and it's within walking distance of a few other places on Biltmore Avenue. Nice bunch of picnic tables that can handle big groups, and there is also enough space for indoor cornhole. They also have a merch shop, and beers available in multiple kinds of packs, from individual bottles up to cases. A great place to stop, without having to deal with downtown parking. read more

What I liked most about this Brewery is that they didn't have 96 different terrible IPAs, and one of everything else. They had a good variety of beers. Unlike most breweries, they seemed to understand that all IPAs taste like a trash bag. As a fan of lagers myself, I really appreciated this. All of their beers tasted great to me, but even if they had tasted like a dirt pile, I still would have given them 4 stars simply because of the variety they had. I hope that one day, all breweries will be like this one, and understand that IPAs are terrible. read more
