Had a 75 minute Signature massage + energizing scalp massage add-on with Melissa Sanchez today at The Hills location off Walnut Hill Ln. I typically go to Hiatus (Lovers Ln) as a once-a-year treat using the gift certificate my brother gives me for my birthday. Melissa really listed to me when I said that I prefer light pressure and even lighter pressure around my neck. This was the best massage I've had in years. I took a day off from work to relax and it is exactly what I got. I've been a long time customer of Hiatus (Lovers Ln), but this was my first time at The Hills location. I'm very sensitive to pressure. What people would call normal pressure is considered a deep tissue for me. It makes my skin feel bruised. However, Melissa provided the perfect pressure! She was even extra careful, which I loved! Thank you! I also accidentally locked my locker incorrectly, but they were able to unlock it right away for me. One thing I wish that was different with the layout was that the women's room was tucked a little more away from the front lobby area. read more

By far my Favorite Hiatus Spa location ever. I i've been coming here religiously for the past year as an ode to self-care. I pay for the monthly membership because I come so frequently that it saves me money doing so. The monthly membership gives you discounted prices in addition to one free essential service a month. I can always expect the team to be friendly, and I've found my go-to people for certain services! Skincare: Hannah Maggio and Italy Flores Why? They absolutely know my sensitive skin better than I do at this point! I try to book months at a time to keep my Skin looking great. If you have never gotten a facial, I recommend booking the tailor-made essential facial. You can pick between a 90 and 60 minute. Your skin care expert will assess your skin needs and tailor a facial specifically for you. This tends to be my go to with add-ons like the honey peel, scalp massage, etc Body wraps: 100% Italy Flores She is 100% someone I trust with understanding my body and its needs! Not only that, but I always leave feeling refreshed, calm, and at peace anytime I see Italy. Body crops are great overall for making you feel completely renewed from head to toe. You'll leave with skin that is completely hydrated. my recommendation is to continue drinking lots of water to flush out any toxins! Massage: Cedric Greenwood or Jelani Washington Jelani is my 100% Go to for massages and at this point I really wanna gate keep him because he's not good. I've tried quite a few massage therapist to find the one that I'm most comfortable with and it is hands-down Jelani. If you're looking for a female massage therapist I recommend Elaine. However, since I tend to favor medium to firm pressure given that I work out heavily and weight lift -- jelani and Cedric just make sense. On top of that, my massages are where I am the pickiest and I think it's just because I'm a very anxious person and a very empathetic one. For example, if I have a massage therapist whose hands I can feel crack in my immediate thought is, oh my God is my body too hard, am I causing them pain? Lol in all seriousness though, I would have a really hard time going somewhere else now that I've found the people I trust to always make me feel like a goddess. read more

I had a great experience at Hiatus Day Spa. It was my first time visiting this spa and everything was first rate!

I'm not sure where to start. What a terrible experience. I scheduled a 90 minute massage which I ended at the 60 minute mark for several reasons. 1. The massage was terrible. I can't believe the therapist was licensed. It consisted of her digging her knuckles into me and just rubbing me up and down with lotion. I could do this at home. It was in no way shape or form a "professional" massage. 2. I was so COLD. Ultimately this is why I ended the massage. I told her I just couldn't enjoy it. I could feel her hands were cold and the lotion she was using was cold. 3. They do absolutely nothing to manage the noise in the halls so the entire time I can hear these girls yelling and they continue to do so while in the lobby. I have never been to an expensive spa where they do not insist on Quiet. There wasn't a single minute of this massage that I was relaxed. The cherry on top of all of this is that they OVERCHARGED me for a 75 minute massage! Not only should I have received a discount but I DEFINITELY shouldn't have been overcharged. I will never, ever go back there and I recommend that anyone thinking of going there instead consider "Spa Habitat" in Uptown. read more

I feel lucky to live so close to this place. I've never been a spa person before, but after experiencing Hiatus, I'm a spa girl for life. I've gotten massages, facials, and one mani-pedi here; all of them have been amazing experiences. I was nervous about all the logistics of a new experience. Where do I change? Where do I put my stuff? Will it be awkward being semi-nude during a massage, etc? I told one of the ladies at the front desk that it was my first time there, and she walked me through the bathroom, explained how to use the lockers, showed me the relaxation waiting room, and helped me understand what to expect. What a relief! The process is seamless and all the staff have made me feel totally comfortable. I can feel the serotonin/dopamine/relaxation increasing in my body on the drive here, lol. I love sitting in my robe in the relaxation lounge area after my treatment, enjoying a cup of hot tea (complimentary) and a good book. Become a member - you won't regret it! read more

I became a member after my first service which was great. However, once a member it was downhill from there. I had three services which were supposed to be 80 minutes. i paid more than the monthly fee. However every time the service lasted 60-70 minutes. I canceled my membership since nothing was ever done. For my last facial yesterday, they attempted to not let me use my last credit. Luckily the individual who assisted, let me. I will never return. read more

Disrobing in a medium sized room open to all affords no privacy especially when there's a large noisy party of 8 in there. Guests need to be reminded to be quiet. It's a spa. A man was on the phone in the communal waiting room. It must not be common sense to be quiet in a spa. Would signs help? The front desk - where to begin? It must be a really challenging job booking appointments,, following printed directions and charging accurate prices. All I can think is they must not pay well. They do everything that they can to protect you from a possible COVID-19 exposure. I received a pedicure here and i was very happy with the end product. The zero gravity chairs are very comfortable, so I slept through most of it. The one complaint I had was unclear procedural instructions. The instructional email they sent said to show up 15 minutes early, and then wait in your car for a text from them letting you know to come in. This is exactly what I did. After waiting 20 minutes, however, I still hadn't received a text. So I called and they said to come on in. I asked why they hadn't texted me if they were ready and they said they rely on ppl texting them to let them know they were outside. They also said the ppl's text is a response to a reminder text the spa sends out. I did not receive any reminder text and there definitely was no mention of the client sending out a text in the instructional email. So I felt a bit like a jerk for showing up late but also mad because it was from following their instructions. I don't believe they rushed my pedicure at all from me showing up late, I think they just pushed everything back, and I greatly appreciate that. read more

My massage was with Ross and that was amazing and better than massages I've had at the plaza in New York!! My facial was with Kenna and she was so knowledgeable and my skin looks great!! I signed up for a massage yesterday for today at 1015 am. I came in for my massage, and they tell me that my appointment is at 1215 not 1015. I showed them the email showing my appointment was at 1015. Then they said that masseuse is no longer with them, and had to move to a different time. Shouldn't they have known that masseuse wasn't with them when I signed up online the previous day. It's not like I signed up weeks in advance, it was 1 day before. Then the lady says that they left a vm about the time change which I never got. I don't understand why they would change the time without me confirming, or atleast call again or text confirming the change since they didn't get a hold of me the first time. I wasted my time and gas coming to this location. I will not be coming back to this location. read more

I really hate to write this, but Hiatus just isn't what it used to be. The estheticians and massage therapists are not as experienced as they were when I started my membership ~5 years ago. The massages and facials used to be great, but are very poor now. Lately, the massage therapists will get you from the waiting room 5 minutes late, then they take about 5-7 minutes to let you derobe, but the massage will end exactly an hour after it was supposed to start. So you essentially get a 45 minute treatment. My most recent massage was not at all a massage, but was simply the therapist rubbing lotion on me. The therapist kept banging the chair into the wall and I could hear everything in the lobby so it wasn't exactly relaxing. I'm not going to name the therapist b/c I understand that people have bad days. Unfortunately this has become the norm though. Even my facials have been unprofessional lately. If you do find someone you like, they don't stay employed here for long. The receptionist is very friendly. I think her name is Madison. The spa is new and clean, but it's not a relaxing atmosphere. The design is very sterile and airy. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I'm used to darker/quieter spas. I would definitely NOT recommend going here if you're going to pay full price. If you pay the membership price then you may be able to justify the service. read more

Tania worked to schedule 11 service appointments across 6 girls, adjusted when one of the girls had to pull out, and worked to ensure the services happened around the same time so we could all leave together for the next stop. After reading the reviews on here, I decided to give a Haitus a try. My facial was great. Very relaxing and I walked out with an amazing glow. However, I'm only giving Haitus 3 stars based on the customer service. I did not feel welcomed. The receptionist was not friendly and welcoming. Honestly all I was thinking before my aesthetician came to get me was I will not be returning here. After my service though , I was really happy with my facial that I decided that I wasn't going to let a bad apple ruin my experience. I even booked another facial. Fast forward to a couple of hours after I left the facility that I noticed how smooth and soft my hands and arms felt. I called the spa to inquire about the products that the aesthetician used and spoke to a "Billie". Billie said she would find out and call me back. Never heard back from her. I called again the following day and the day after that and no one ever answered the phone! I decided to send an email and no one ever replied to it either. Hell, all I wanted was to purchase the products that were used on my arms. I guess I can assume my business is not wanted or needed. read more

I'm a long time member and I've had my massages canceled on me three times in the last six months and there are so many times I call and no one answers the phone. Melissa was amazing. This was my first massage after a 6/7 year hiatus and it was incredible. The location is beautiful, the front desk staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Everything is pristine and very clean. The relaxation room is stunning and a welcome reprieve after a busy week at work. Once I went for the massage I was first given this amazing foot rub. Afterwards, Melissa asked what type of scent/oil I would like which was a great thing to do for the client. Once the massage started, wow....all the stress in the world seemed to disappear and the tension I always carry in my neck vanished! When it was over, I wanted to pretend I was the next appointment, however thankfully I am more honest than that. Truly stellar experience all around and I look forward to booking again. read more

The experience with this place was TERRIBLE and I didn't even get a service. Billie who works there needs to find another job where she does not interact with people. She is rude and condescending. My husband booked an appt for 3:30 pm and she called at 3:27 pm to tell me I was canceled because I failed to show up for my 3:15 pm appt. She refuses to believe that we made an appt for 3:30 pm and pretty much called us liars. She said her masseuse had kids and left so despite me driving 45 minutes I was not getting a service. This is the second time I've been canceled. The first time their person failed to show up. I requested to speak with the manager Grace and she was conveniently unavailable, so I requested Grace call me back. No surprise that Grace never called. My husband also called requesting a call back from manager Grace and oh guess what...manager Grace never called him either. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRIBLE PLACE.
