This review is based on food, service, cleanliness, atmosphere, and value. Had the jalapeno chips, and Atomic burger. Jalapeno chips were very salty. There was only one size, and could easily be an appetizer for 8 people. I wish there was a smaller size, with a smaller pricetag. The burger was good, but not spicy at all. With a name like "Atomic burger", I was expecting some burn. Even the pickled jalapenos were mild. The service was okay. There was some arguing going on in the kitchen while we waited for our food. That was a little strange... kinda comical, actually. The cleanliness was the biggest hit for this place. It's old, the ceiling is stained, the floor was visibly dirty, the table was sticky, and the place just looked unclean. The atmosphere is similar to a waffle house, or other run-down diner. This place is in desperate need of a renovation. Maybe if it was clean, the atmosphere would be a little more appealing. The price for everything was high, which brings the value down. As one who travels, I seek out family burger joints. Habachi delivered the goods. Ordered the bacon Blu burger. Hand pressed and bigger than the bun. Lots of cheese. Cooked to medium well perfection. Finding that the line was too long at the Other One for lunch, we decided to come and check out this restaurant. I've heard previous sayings that their hibachi burger was amazing. Let's just start off and say that the first thing I see is paint and a gas powered leaf blower in the dining room, no menus (well 4 menus at the counter), a small grill and a ton of tickets. We order and well, took in the "ambiance". Finally one of our groups get their salad, not meal, just the salad, which was 30 minutes after the fact. After forty five minutes, I had to go and ask where my order was. The response was the "it'll be up soon, it's just really busy." As a customer, hearing that it's a lame excuse. To me, it means that this restaurant can't handle the business. This restaurant can't handle the demand if they get swamped. For a lunch spot you need to be able to crank out orders, and hibachi burger just didn't deliver. Forty five minutes in and sitting, we haven't gotten anything except a salad. As most places have limited time to eat its not good if you just see deliveries go out and not the people who are sitting in the restaurants getting their food. Hibachi also delivers, so that's what's screwing them up. If you're going to do delivery make sure the people in the restaurant get first dibs because they came and actually ate at the establishment, not just call and get a delivery. Honestly though, everyone should be served on time. Make sure you can handle the people in the restaurant first and mastering that before adding on to deliveries. If you're looking to eat and hoping to get in and out, don't come here. This is definitely my first and last time. read more

The food is delicious and the staff that are working here whenever I've been in have been very friendly and knowledgeable on the menu items. The reason it gets one star is the owners take the staffs tips. As a customer I tip based on the service I'm receiving from the staff working at the time that I am tipping. It's complete crap that if the staff are busting their butts that I can't tip them for what they are doing. There is no other restaurant I have ever been too that steals the tips from their staff. I don't care what the owners are doing with the tip money wether it goes towards their next vacation or they use it for the company, the tip is for the staff working at the time it is given. I was very skeptical about putting some of my favorite Hibachi items and an juicy, great tasting burger patty, together, to make this awesome tasting combination! Evan my husband who is a die hard "basic" meat an cheese burger guy tried it, an it's now his go to choice for a burger! Fairly basic seating and ambiance but the staff is super friendly an accommodating. I had onion petals as my side. I am pretty picky with my battered onions but theirs did not disappoint. Me and my friends came in for some hibachi burgers to try and were extremely surprised with what we found. The burgers were cooked to perfection and were extremely flavorful. The way the french fries are seasoned goes amazingly well with the shrimp sauce they provide, especially when they've been coated in the juices from the burger. It isn't just hibachi burgers they do right. Try out some of the more common burgers like The Titan burger. You'll be pleasantly rewarded with the taste of a flavorful and amazingly cooked burger. I will note that the food takes a bit of time to come out - but it's definitely worth the wait. The staff is fairly kind and I would recommend this place to any of my friends or family. read more

Fantastic idea, mix the Hibachi style of flattop cooking with fresh chopped veggies and bold asian sauces with buns and cheese. They have a small but mighty selection of hibachi favorites and a clever selection of burgers. I truly enjoyed my Hibachi Burger and cheese fries every aspect from the soft special brioche style bun to the melted Swiss, and crunchy stir fried veggies and the delicious pool of dripping teriyaki and creamy hibachi sauce. The burger meat is outstanding and they hand mold their generously large patties. Make sure to get some fry sauce it was a little spicy, creamy and had a tinge of smokey flavor BRAVO! Add it to the huge heap of cheese cries and you are golden. There is plenty of seating indoor and out and the two wonderful ladies I met there are friendly and personable. An important note is this eatery is in the corner of the shopping center under a sign of the former restaurant in that location. This was confusing to me and I actually had to call the place from the parking lot to find them. Equally confusing was that there is a second burger joint in the same shopping center. I almost went there assuming Hibachi was part of "the other one" Overall this is an affordable and appealing eater definitely worth a regular visit. Probably one of the worst experiences in oakridge I've ever encountered. If I could give zero stars I would. The food is sub-par at best. This was the second time we've eaten there and after giving them a second chance we will never do it again. We paid almost $50 for 3 people to eat gas station level food. We waited an hour for our food and it was wrong. It wasn't even busy because weather was not favorable. The staff was the worst part out of any of it. HORRIBLE ATTITUDES! They stayed on their cell phones and when they weren't they were incredibly rude to us and couldn't even wait for us to be gone to start talking about us. Never. Ever. Again. read more

Hibachi burger has a lot of different flavors on their plate, but dont let the fusion-restaraunt name scare you off. The hibachi and burgers are equally delicious! I prefer the burgers only because I'm not personally fond of plain white rice with my Hibachi, but I have tasted both and it was pretty yummy. Its obviously not Miyabi's or anything, but they do a good job not to get too gimmicky and let one side of the fusion fall flat. The burgers are a great deal! $6 for a HUGE burger that tastes like an old style pub burger and fries. Way better use of your money than McDonald's. I don't have many good things to say here... I almost walked out without my food because they were so slow. 25 minutes later my chicken and beef hibachi combo was ready. The food looked nice, but the flavors didn't match. The meats were quite bland aside from the teriyaki sauce that was put on at the end. My beef was so incredibly gristly that was tough to chew, and I ended up spitting out half of it. The rice was either poorly prepared or left in the cooker way too long. Either way it had the look and texture of day old rice. The mixed vegetables were prepared next to hamburgers and thus were dripping with burger grease. I hope the burgers are better, but the "hibachi" offering was terrible. Oh, the staff was friendly though. read more

Really, I'd like to give 4 1/2 stars but I don't want to take away a whole star for atmosphere. It's one of those great local, hole-in-the-wall places where the food is to die for but the atmosphere is waiting to happen. The food is fantastic. I had the BBQ burger and it was so incredible I couldn't put it down. They don't use BBQ sauce on the burger, they use their fry sauce instead, but somehow it works and is still reminiscent of BBQ. Pricing can't be beat. The hubby and I went and each got a burger and fries with water to drink and we were out the door for $15 and change. I got the California Burger with pickle chips. My husband ordered the Atomic Burger with chili cheese fries. The burgers were both delicious. The chili cheese fries were also yummy. The pickle chips are fried pickles and I have to say I was disappointed. I like to order fried pickles at just about any restaurant that offers them. These fried pickles were SO salty that salt was all I could taste. My husband and I couldn't not eat more than two a piece. The order itself took longer than expected. Overall we say 3 stars because the atmosphere is not the best, fried pickles are too salty, and it took a long time for our food to be ready. The burgers are delicious though! read more

Anyone else get banned from the owner's bar for having an issue with the restaurant? Not my experience, but two weeks ago my friend ordered large order from there... spent 65$ so understandably he would want the food to be made right. Asked for no vegetables on one of the plates... cook doesnt classify mushrooms as a vegetable since they're a fungi(he says). Then they leave out the shrimp sauce. Friend calls and explains problem. They say they wont remake food and wont reimburse if my friend stops at the store to buy shrimp sauce that should have came with his meal. They tell him he has to come back and they'll give him sauce. He doesn't actually live in oak ridge and was almost home at this point.... he says if I come get the sauce, my food will be cold. Hibachi burger employee tells him he can just microwave it. If you spend 65$ to eat out on fresh cooked food, you ARE NOT gonna wanna heat it up in the microwave. This makes my friend a little upset, to the point he can't believe he's being treated like this over their mistake. He proceeds to drive back and asks for a refund (the food wasnt made right anyhow, and none of it was eaten). In my eyes this was reasonable given the situation. My friend gets there and asks for said refund. Restaurant refuses refund. My friend calls orpd to please come to the establishment them there to make sure that they get a witness to him leaving the food, let he be accused of something. While he is on the phone to get them over there, the blonde older bartender from next door comes stomping through the door and screaming at him while he is on the phone with orpd over the ordeal. Really unprofessional. When you make someone's food wrong, its understandable they would want it to be remade. If a customer is having a problem with your establishment and they can maintain their composure and not be a total jackass, then the restaurant employees should not have an issue with the remake. The bartender who was not involved busting through the door out of nowhere to yell at my friend over the restaurants screw up was not cool. I won't be going back there myself because of this, neither to the burger place or the bar. This is senseless. My friends and I have been coming to this place for years. Never had an issue. Until now. I don't know what happened to the management but this needs to be fixed. How do you let an employee yell and cuss a customer who is having a legitimate issue with your establishment, and then ban the customer from the food side business AND from the bar? I for one, will not be back. And I think it's no coincidence that the employee who told him he was banned happened to be the same blonde lady who cussed him over the food issue. This is really unprofessional. Sad to know I will have no more memories with my friends in the bar there, but okay with my decision. There was no need for all that when they are the ones who screwed up his food. When you run a restaurant business, you are not only selling the customer the food but also the experience. When someone spends 65$ in your establishment, and you make their order wrong, you should be concerned with their experience... I would be. Lack of customer service and inability to separate the two businesses is why I won't be back. Makes no sense to have an issue with the restaurant and get banned from the bar... especially if the request was reasonable. Wish you could leave 0 star reviews. And who is gonna be such a smartass that they say, technically mushrooms are a fungi not a vegetable? That may very well be, but every red blooded American I know is gonna classify that as vegetable... and every cook I know that sees no vegetable is gonna leave off the mushrooms... or at least make the server clarify.
