Hmmmm, I really wanted to love this place as it's in my hood, but I was kinda let down. The staff when we went were super young and seemed a lot were new so I was trying to be patient. But the sweet girl taking orders didn't really know what she was doing and put in our order a bit wrong. The couple in front of us had their order messed up too. The interior of the place wasn't that inviting or clean, but we opted to eat in anyway. But IF we go back that won't be happening. My husband got a basic cheese pizza because that's how he judges all pizza places the first time around. It was just OK to him. I got the pickle chips since they were 'breaded in-house' and the BBQ Burger. The pickle chips were so over-seasoned and salty I couldn't even eat them - and I LOVE salt. What a shame. The only redeeming thing was the burger and fries. While the burger didn't have what it was supposed to on it and you don't get the option on the temperature of the meat, it was still a good burger. The fries were also super crispy and fluffy inside. So pretty hit-and-miss for me. I'm going to have to think twice before I go back. read more

Love hibachi? Love pizza? ummm...together? Well, why the heck not. While they DO have hibachi goodies that can be served on a specialty pizza, note that most of their menu is served as individual, more traditional items (like hibachi, a burger, or pizza...not all meshed together). This place was a bit of a hike for us but so worth it for the delicious pizza. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, garlic knots, and deluxe hibachi that comes with beef, chicken, and shrimp and a side salad and soup. If we were rating this place on the pizza and knots alone-5 stars all day long. The crust is so light, chewy and flavorful. The garlic knots actually remind me of the super unique rolls at the local Brazilian steakhouse. They have an outer chew but the inside is so soft that it almost melts in your mouth. The hibachi was...okay. My first bite of the entire meal was the beef and it was unfortunately so chewy that it was inedible. I crossed my fingers it was just that one piece. Nope. Our family ended up discarding every piece of beef, which was an expensive disappointment. The shrimp and chicken were tasty but overshadowed by the sea of onions and mushrooms. We were grateful for the salad and soup, although we couldn't distinguish what the soup was meant to be. My kiddo asked what the hot, brown salt water was. :-) The ginger salad was iceberg lettuce with a very thick, chunky ginger dressing. If that's your thing, rock on! For hibachi, we will probably stick with Fuji. In general, we will be back for the pizza soon and look forward to trying the burgers, which we've heard are great. read more

My wife and I were looking for something to eat, a place we were familiar with was packed so we searched for an alternative. We weren't sure what we wanted and were intrigued by the variety of options at Hibachi Pizza. We almost missed it because it is the endcap of a small strip mall. The parking lot had seen better days. The windows featured some stickers that made us think they might be a hip place. Entering the restaurant, the order counter is front and center. The staff is friendly and patient as you review the unique menu featuring burgers, stir fry, and pizza (eclectic to say the least). We settled on the Hibachi Pizza. It was ready pretty quickly and it was delicious. A perfectly cooked crust, teriyaki glaze, cheese, chicken (tofu is an option) onions, mushrooms, topped with a sauce we would compare to Yum Yum sauce. It was EPIC - the best non-traditional pizza I've ever had! Made it a point to tell them and looking forward to going back soon! While the diverse menu seems odd - the have definitely done something special. Try it, you won't be disappointed! read more

When I walked in the door I was greeted by a nice gentleman. That was the only thing nice about this establishment. First off, the atmosphere is reminiscent on a mess hall at the county lockup, (which is probably has better food) . Secondly, as far as refreshments the choices are limited since they only had water, Pepsi, ginger ale to chose from. Finally the food was beyond horrific. I have eaten goat entrails on the plains of western Kenya that were prepared with better flavor than the steak hibachi I had ordered. Great, independently owned shop specializing in both hibachi and New York Style pizza as well as other standard American fair type options (burgers,sandwiches, etc). The food is delicious and reasonably priced and all menu items can be ordered for delivery as well (with a $10 minimum order). You might make the assumption that a restaurant is doomed to fail by doing too much or having too many menu items, as is often the case, but with Hibachi you would be dead wrong. The food here is excellent and the owners know exactly what they're doing. They have a great synergy with two owners doing two very different styles of food simultaneously. This was overall a very good experience. We often drive by this location on the way to Big South Fork and wondered if the name of the restaurant was a joke. We decided to stop by and were very pleasantly surprised. It is more of a take-out place, but does have a few tables where you can eat your food. We got a basket of fries, chicken hibachi (which comes with a broth-like soup and salad with ginger dressing), meat lovers pizza, and garlic knots. The hibachi was pretty good, I would have liked a bit more sauce, but good flavor. The ginger dressing was different, but in a good way. Very ginger-y, not too sweet. The soup was just a hot salt broth, I would have liked a couple of green onions in it. The pizza was some of the best I have had recently, the crust was chewy perfection and the sauce was delicious, with a great ratio of cheese to meat. The fries were piping hot and well-seasoned. I would have given 4.5 stars if I could, but giving 4 stars because the garlic knots were a bit undercooked and raw in the middle and they didn't have any plates for the pizza, asking us to use wax paper instead, which was very messy and greasy on the table. We stopped in for dinner the other night and were pleasantly surprised. It seemed like an odd mixture of food on the menu, but everything smelled delicious when we went in. The dining area is small, but clean. The kitchen is open and was also clean. The staff was friendly and appeared to be family run. There was only one other party there to eat while we were there, but there was a busy take out and delivery business going on. Having never been there before, we seated ourselves and waited for several minutes to be acknowledged or for a waitress to bring menus before realizing that you are supposed to get the menus from the front counter and place your own order there as well. We ordered a cheese pizza, a sausage pizza, and a popcorn chicken dinner. The pizza was better than many that I've had in the area and is a New York(ish) type pizza. The crust and sauce were good, although the crust was a little underdone for me. The cheese was also good, but the sausage was just ok - very much like the frozen sausage nuggets that you'll find on frozen pizzas in the grocery store. The popcorn chicken was INCREDIBLE. They use nice chunks of all white meat chicken and hand bread and season it themselves and the flavor is terrific. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender, and very juicy. The fries were nicely seasoned and well cooked also. I will be back just for the chicken! The portion was generous and also included fry sauce and a sauce of your choice for the chicken. The prices were excellent (only $6.00 for a large cheese pizza, and $6.99 for the popcorn chicken dinner). Our daughter appreciated the family friendly atmosphere - there's a chalk board wall which kids can write on while they wait and there's also a flat screen television with Netflix available during your wait and your dinner. Good food. Good service. Love the concept! A house divided against itself has a hard time finding an agreeable place to eat. In my case, one child loves pizza and Italian, the other loves Asian. Finally - a place with tasty options for both! In Oliver Springs (who'd thought?). We got pizza and hibachi beef / chicken & shrimp. All were delicious. Staff took tweaks on the orders gladly.
