Wonton soup, very gross & slimy! Cheap chinese carryouts are better. Hibachi meals ok, but the shrimp rolls were disgusting. Had a very bad, fishy smell and tasted worse. Wasabi was weak. read more

I absolutely refuse to eat here! I used to order from them all the time but recently I learned that they put a block on delivering to my address for no apparent reason!!! I called several times to find out the reason for the block and they always say "there is no note in the system". I live in a safe neighborhood and I am always pleasant and tip their delivery person. I have sushi & Chinese food from here. I agree with the previous comment that the sushi is 'generic' but it's not bad. The Chinese food combos have been good. Prices are inexpensive. Hi! It's hard to find an asian fast food. Hibachi Express at Abingdon is more chinese than Japanese, but the food is absolutely great. Not much MSG is added so you won't be leaving thirsty. Bewarned though, you will be leaving thirsty for more food. The teriyaki is a bit on the sweet side, but I think it blends well with their seafood ranch sauce (light pink in color) for the chicken to dip into. I order lunch there 2-3 times a week and never disappointed. The teriyaki chicken and chicken brocolli are my faves. The green and red peppers are lightly oiled and stir-fried just right to leave it crunchy and retaining the flavor. The food is not very oily either. Service is great, even with the lack of manpower, they will clean up after you if you decide to dine in. Their hot sauce is not the typical sour one, but more of the hot bean sauce. For most caucasians, it's a bit spicy, but I love it. This review is coming from a ABC (american born chinese), originally from NYC, and I have a high-standard when it comes to chinese food. Give it a try. The avg price per rice dish is $6-$9 and I think you won't be disappointed. Maybe you'll bump into me since I'm usually the only asian-looking male patroning around lunch time. I have ordered from this place multiple times with little to no problems. Today will be the last time I EVER order from them and will no longer recommend them. I ordered a steak and chicken combo with a soda and a Phili roll. I received a steak and shrimp combo with a soda and no Phili roll. Despite the fact that I repeated my order multiple times on the phone. I'm allergic to shrimp I definitley wouldn't order it. I called back to complain was put on hold after saying what was wrong. I was on hold so long that I hung up and started to drive to the carryout place. I told them multiple times what was wrong, they finally made the steak and chicken that I originally ordered but refused to believe I didn't get sushi because the driver said she gave it to me in a separate bag. After telling them repeatedly I only got one bag and my soda and never received me, telling them to give me money back if they weren't going to give me my food, to call the driver back to give me all my money back if she was going to continue to lie including her tip, it took me threatening to call the police and have them resolve it to finally get my sushi. They have lost a long time customer, I will be happy to take my business somewhere else. read more

October, 2011 My first Yelp review was filtered and eliminated which is not fair to other viewers who should see negative reviews as well as favorable. We have ordered several times and while the first time the food was wonderful and the service was great, each time after the food has gotten worse. The last time we order hibachi chicken and shrimp and when the food arrived the chicken was so tough you couldn't chew it. To make matters worse we found a long hair in the food. We called several times only to be told that the manager would call us back but that never happened. Finally we insisted on getting our money back or a free lunch the next time we ordered and the employee said she would give us 25% off. We told her that this was unacceptable as the food was inedible and she told us she felt we were lying! She actually told a customer that the owner did not speak english and the manager was unavailable and frankly she felt we were lying!!!! We threatened to call the health department and bring the food over to their store in front of other customers and she finally agreed to give us a replacement order the next time we call. Later when we wanted to order the replacement they refused to take our order stating that they no longer deliver to our area which is only 6 minutes away. DO NOT GIVE YOUR BUSINESS TO A RESTAURANT THAT CALLS ITS CUSTOMERS A LIAR! Go somewhere that doesn't want to lose business! UPDATE: August 2012: We wanted to give this restaurant another chance. Now this restaurant will not accept any orders when we give our phone number. This is an establishment that should be shut down for discrimination. I ordered from here ate maybe 3 bites and pulled a black hair out of my food, I called to complain the guy got really rude so I took the food back and spoke with him face to face and I could see the girl in the kitchen with the exact kind of hair that was in my food, the guy told me it doesn't match his employees hair and besides they wear hairs so it couldn't be their hair. Hibachi Express serves decent food. Nothing amazing but ok. So, we have been ordering from these guys for over 2 years, including about a week ago. So, we decided tonight on 7/14, that we would order from Hibachi Express for my wife and I, my daughter and her friends that were visiting us. So, my wife calls to place the order and is told by the manager that Hibachi Express has taken Edgewood off of it's list of delivery locations. So, I decided to call back and I as always gave my address. The person begins to take my order and then hangs up on me as I am placing the order. I called back and explained that I was disconnected as I was placing my order. The manager tells me that she was trying to figure things out. I explained to her that she had just told my wife that her restaurant no longer delivers to Edgewood. The manager said that she would make an exception this time. I then told her that we had just ordered from Hibachi Express a week earlier. This whole thing makes no sense. We have been loyal customers for over 2 years and we always give the drivers nice tips. Oh, well! Their loss! Way to go Hibachi Express management! Here's a tip, if you aren't going to deliver to Edgewood anymore, get rid of your Edgewood phone number! read more

I would like to say that I am really impressed by the professionalisim of the girl who seems to always take my order, to the quality of the food and the promptness of the delivery and very hot food as well as the politeness of the drivers. I live in Joppatowne which I have timed takes at least 12 minutes and at least 6 traffic lights, and they have always been reasonable with delivery time and I have never had a complaint, maybe the longest we waited was an hour and fifteen minutes. The sushi is very good, I have to say my experience has always been great. The fish is very fresh, rolls are tight and the rice is very tasty. Tonight I had the spicy tuna roll and the salmon and avacado roll, wonderfull, simply wonderfull. I also had the curry chicken combination which I must say was very nice on the level of heat. It had me wanting more, not mildly hot, bot not too hot. And to top it off the girl who delivered my food was hot as well, very nice, very nice ink also. I will recomend to all my friends. read more
