I thought about it all week because it was THAT good. 2nd order: I got the General Tso Shrimp again (of course!) and ordered Shrimp Fried Rice for my husband. The shrimp was perfectly crispy with the right amount of sauce, and my husband loved his fried rice -- it even had a nice smoky flavor. Now it hasn't even been a full week and my husband just called asking if I wanted to order again! So here I am waiting (patiently... okay, impatiently ) for my Seafood Delight and his beloved Shrimp Fried Rice. This is our go to Chinese takeout in Bel Air for the past several years. We order from here at least once per month. In my opinion, it is the best Chinese restaurant in this area. It is a small take-out restaurant located in a strip mall. There are a few tables for dinning in. They are open 6 days per week and closed on Tuesdays. I recommend the General Tso's Chicken. It is one of the best. Not overly sweet or drenched in sauce. Their Roast Pork Lo Mein and Fried Rice are also delicious. Not greasy like others. Finally had a taste of home and West Coast Chinese takeout. Found it here, where the workers actually speak Mandarin and can tell me what's in the food. Their lo mein is on point, not drenched in oil, and nicely mixed with veggies and meats sliced small. Their broccoli and beef was so good and not overly soft. Reminded me of home cooking! And their General Tso's chicken wasn't spicy but was very tasty! And you MUST TRY their buns! They're made the Asian way, with butter and milk and so much soft fluffy goodness! The spot is a bit small but it's homey and very comfortable. I look forward to coming back and trying more! So thankful for this spot!! read more

This is my favorite place for Chinese... well it used to be. The last 3 times I got food there I ordered some things in Small sizes and each time I was given Large, and unknowingly paid for a large. They don't give itemized receipts and I'm a regular so I just trust them... until I get home and open the bag! The 1st time I thought it was an honest mistake. The 2nd time I gave them the benefit of doubt again but my radar was now up, but yesterday HE did it again. It's always the male owner who's responsible for these mistakes and I found out he does it on purpose!!! When I walked in he was trying to explain to another customer how the large size he gave him was MORE beneficial cost wise than the small that he ordered! When I got my order he'd done the same thing to me!!! I was livid. Then he said I should've been specific on the phone... which is just a lie because I ALWAYS am, and I speak perfectly clear English as well. When I told him this was the 3rd time he'd done it, and he should give me the large for the price of the small since he's consistently trying to be sneaky, he took my food and gave me a smaller portion and adjusted the price... all the while saying that his cook had quit and how hard it is to find good Chinese cooks and how he has to work so hard and sometimes cook himself, blah blah blah. I've been going here for 10 years... and only here... and even speak to him by his 1st name, but Ethan has likely lost a good customer by being so deceitful and dishonest. Lots of businesses are having a hard time these days. I know this because I'm a salesman in downtown Baltimore, but this is out in the suburbs where money isn't usually a problem for customers, and they are ALWAYS busy. Be warned ... make sure you get your credit card back from the cashier. Last weekend, we did not and someone on the staff conveniently took the card and used it to purchase $ 200 worth of gas at a local station. I have always liked the food fine. B plus. But today a young lady who was chopping raw meat, pork or chicken based upon color, saw me waiting and came over and handed me my food! She did not take off her gloves!! She stopped for a few seconds And washed her hands extremely quickly. She kept her gloves on the whole time!! Gloves are single use in food service. I have been going to Szechuan Express for years now. I live nearby, and for the longest time, we were ordering from them almost weekly. About three years ago, the prices went up, the portion sizes went down, and the service and food quality deminished as well. This was not only inconvenient because there are not many other Chinese food places nearby, but upsetting because there is an item on the menu that I really enjoy and cannot get anywhere else. I was really missing that dish about six months ago and went back. When they get the order right, the food is very good. This is evidenced by the crowd of people waiting to pick up orders on Friday and Saturday nights. Because of this, I have returned on a regular basis. Tonight, they were back to their old tricks. I called in my order and the person took it very hastily, told me how long it would take, and hung up. They did not review the order, give me a price, or even check to make sure the order was complete. Fifteen minutes later, I arrived, collected my order, and returned home. Sadly, the order was wrong. The full orders of items where prepared as combination platers, which meant less food. The portions for the orders that I did get were still smaller than expected for the price. I also did not receive a receipt so wasn't sure if I was charged correctly. I called to report the issue but was again rushed while on the phone, and the only option, despite the fact that they deliver was to return to them to get the corrected item. Who wants to drive back to the restaurant to get the item I should have gotten in the first place while the rest of the food gets cold and gross? This is the second time in the last six months that the order was incorrect. They just aren't dependable, and for those prices, it's not worth the risk of getting the wrong items. Wow... I don't know what's wrong with everyone here... writing all these scathing reviews? I have never had a bad experience here. I live around the corner and eat here all the time. Chinese food can rarely be bad, but it can happen... just not here. As far as their service and etiquette protocols? It's take out! What do you want besides great food done quickly and moderately priced??? Asian people can seem rude (especially when they're busy) but so can Americans. This is NOT a full-service establishment. Don't expect the white glove treatment... expect great food and a price to match. My only complaint... sometimes I wish there was more sauce, but that's just me. I LOVE THIS PLACE and until I move further away it will ALWAYS be my go-to for Chinese take-out. The only place I've truly had better was in Chinatown in San Francisco, where we were the only Americans in a crowded restaurant, and the menu was totally in Chinese! The best part about this place is no filler (water chestnuts) in the Kung Pao chicken! The General Tso's is decent. This is definitely the best Chinese place in the 21009, but there's not a lot of competition. The fried rice could be better for one thing. Make sure you're hungry when you order because I'm pretty sure my order arrived a couple of minutes before I actually picked up the phone to order.
