Believe it or not, there are some really great places to eat in the Lehigh Valley. This is not one of them, however. I usually go to the century buffet in Palmer, but my friend convinced me to try this one because it had "more variety." It did. It also had slightly better music. This is where I run out of good things to say. I was so moved by how terrible my experience was, I felt compelled to make an account here and write this review. Thank you for listening. I never expected the food to be tremendous--I know why we go to the buffet--but that isn't what this is about. I'm not allowed to describe in my own words how I actually feel about this place, but I must encourage you to consider other options. For example, the ice cream was not cold, yet I could hold it upside-down all day long. When our server noticed I was holding my ice cream like that, she conveniently decided she would ask everyone at the table if they wanted another drink. Everyone, except me. Then we waited for our check. And we waited. And waited. Waited a little bit more. Finally she comes over and scribbles some values on a napkin, pointing at them as if we couldn't comprehend she wanted our money--now. We surrendered our credit cards. She came back with some proper receipts, and hovered over us while we signed. I didn't need any help signing my own name, but she must have thought otherwise. "Service charge!" She pointed to the blank line on the receipt."Service charge for what?" I replied. "Service charge!" She repeated, thrusting the receipt back under the filthy pen I was holding, furiously jamming her finger on it in front of me. "What service?" I said, becoming frustrated. One of my friends included a $2 tip in his assessment of the total cost--a factor of 20% for one lousy water refill--a refill I was never offered. She took his receipt and just about shoved it in my face. "Look, your friend. Two dollar!" She insisted. "Service charge!" She repeated it. I gave up, wrote it down, stared at her, and said calmly, "This is the worst service I've ever seen. The food was terrible, you didn't even ask me for a refill. I'm never coming back here again." She softened. Maybe it was because she felt bad, but maybe she was just satisfied with stealing a few bucks. "Have a nice day," she muttered. Unfortunately, I left my wallet there somehow, and had to return the very next day. "Hi, I think I left my wallet here last night," I said with a smile. I have a pleasant grin. "No. No wallet." She shook her head. "Are you sure?" I prodded. "No," she looked uncertain, "No wallet." Finally another lady asked what it looked like. I described it to her and she pulled it out of a drawer like magic. "Thanks," I said. All that aside, I genuinely think the food at century is better, as far as buffet quality food goes. At least the sushi at century is edible. If you want the sushi here, pack your plate with ginger--a lot of ginger, and don't forget to tip your servers. read more

I would not say this is the best buffet I have ever had. BUT, compared to others in the area, it is actually not bad. If you want BAD BUFFET, Gourmet Buffet and Grill in Allentown is bad and they are charging $11.49 for dinner. Overall, I would give this place 4 stars. read more

It is the best buffet in U.S I experienced. The various seafood are pretty freshed and sushi are very tasted. The food are more than their worth. You cannot image you can enjoy such an good meal with such a low price. read more

I dined here every day during a week-long recent business trip to the area, and it is a find! This is an extraordinary restaurant offering a huge array of foods for a small price. Many of the items are delicious. My favorite is the fried tofu which regrettably, is available only at lunch. There is also a hibachi buffet where the diner selects his or her items and sauce(s). The drawbacks are the repetitive canned music, the fact that not all of the buffet items are available until more than a half hour after the 11:00 a. m. opening, that the hibachi chefs are not particularly friendly, and that the hibachi dishes take too long to cook. If one wants to sample a large number of Asian items at a bargain price, though, in a comfortable atmosphere, Hibachi Buffet is the place! read more

Been here many times with the family...Service is great..very attentive... Many choices and the buffet is always stocked and clean. Its not five star dining...but for a buffet it is really good and not expensive. We have been here many times, and just the past couple days. We will be back. It is good for a good meal. I travel a a lot and it has been a kind of tradition that when I come back home we go to this place... Lots of choices for me and the family. Everybody gets what they want and the food is prepared properly.. Again, this is a buffet. I notice some other posts that try to compare this to five star dining. It is what it is. For about 10 bucks you serve yourself, eat within a minute or two and can go back and back.etc. Repeat, rinse.. So... but then again they have all kinds of other 'live' options as I call them. They have chef or two in the back that will make special orders and is quite good too. So, give this place a try. And the service is really good. Was better when it first opened. Greasy bottoms on the plates, not polite hibachi people. But over all what you expect.

I like a casual yet palatable set of hot dishes. Nothing special, nothing bad. Would come again if live nearby.

This buffet is one of the better ones. I have been going there for over a year. Yesterday I was with my girlfriend eating around 2pm. It was busy and the waitress picked up my girlfriends cup to refill it. She took the cup over to the next table to clean up after the guest who just left. The waitress picked all three cups by putting her fingers into all three cups. She came back with the refill and I ask if that was a fresh cup, she said they always get a fresh cup for refills. I placed a small smug of food on the bottom of my cup a requested a refill. To my surprise my cup came back to me. Again I ask the waitress if we get fresh cups how did I get my dirty cup back. She started to speak with a heavy accent, which I understood. She said they don't have enough cups for everyone so they must use the same one you first get. Okay, I asked when you picked up my girlfriends cup with the other cups with your fingers in them, how do you know which cup was hers? I must have confused the neck out of her and she went from a heavy accent to I don't understand. I mentioned it to employee who charged us at the register who claimed to be the manager. The waiters are always nice and friendly!The food is delicious. the host is friendly and fun! It's clean. Kids get balloons when they are done. My cousin got a sword and she was very happy. They get out candys too. We love it there! The fruits and food is always fresh. There is many choices and lots of different ice cream flavors.Theres a claw Mach with many different toys to win.Theres a giant koi fish pond with many fish and three . The price is reasonable and there are more choices of food. Way more delicious seafood than other buffet around and the favorite part is the hibachi. This consider the best hibachi around the hood. However on the weekend it would be very crowded, I think it is better to make a reservation. read more

Our group of 6 ate at the Hibachi Grill tonight and this is NOT a Hibachi place at all, I've been to Hibachi Restaurants, where you sit in front of the Grill, the cook takes your order, prepares it in front of you...this is just a buffet...inasmuch as it is a huge buffet, some items did not look fresh..it was crowded, because it's a cheap buffet, some items were very tasty..you don't really relax like in a nice restaurant..you eat and as soon as you're thru, the check comes, they want you out of there so someone else can take your table..you can't enjoy a "social" time with your guests. You feel rushed...but, if you want a quick meal, cheap and in a hurry, that's the place to go...odd the drinks are not included in the buffet though... I didn't see any scallops except something called "fried" scallops in a clamshell that was tasteless, all filling, didn't find any scallops in it, but there were alot of tasty items...so try it...judge for yourself... There is Ichiban Hibachi Steak & Sushi Bar up 611 above Stroudsburg that is very good. I would give that a much better rating than this place.. read more

Always loved this place, we eat here at least once or twice a month. Loved the hibachi. However lately, the chef has been in a bad mood. He didn't even care to ask what sauce I wanted, wouldn't let me add some chili in my plate, and yet didn't understand how much chili I wanted in my food. He used to say "Thank you, thank you very much!" all the time, but not anymore with his bad temperament. I'm very tempted to get him a free pass to CRFannys or Platinum Plus just so I can get him to cook my food as it used to be before this pissy fits. read more

This place is a frequent haunt because it's good for birthday lunches at work. Pretty much everyone can find something to eat. The only time I ever had a long wait for a seat was when we got the bright idea to go there on Mother's Day (seriously, how long could the lines be?) And, the food is good. Frankly, that's about all you should expect at a buffet. For those who get too picky about the food or the atmosphere, remember that the word "buffet" comes from an old French word meaning "eat until you hate yourself." Anyone looking for subtle nuances of flavor to titiate his discriminating palate is delusional, not to mention a wee bit egotistical. A buffet is about appealing to the least common denominator in a self-serve environment. Most Chinese buffets are cookie-cutouts of every other Chinese buffet. And, Hibachi's food tastes pretty much like every other Chinese place's food. It's hot and tasty and plentiful enough for us fat Americans to stuff ourselves to our congested hearts' content, and then waddle out the double doors with the meat-sweats. Hibachi has a wider selection of grub than most places, including some anglo food for the critically caucasian patrons, or for those with spoiled brat kids who won't eat anywhere that doesn't have a playground attached to the restaurant. Hibachi also has sushi and a Mongolian BBQ. Again, If you're gonna snob it up about how "jejune" the sushi is, go somewhere that doesn't make you dish it yourself off of a steel tray.
