I think this place almost killed me today! After eating there I started feeling dizzy, nauseated, pounding heart and chest hurting! The "chef" at the hibachi was def not happy about being at work. The buffet had cold food which isn't healthy by itself! Children at the bars alone and when left in booth were having a small food fight! I'll never go back there! The several dozen food trays offered a wide selection of Chinese entrees and sides, plus about a dozen sushi and nigiri options, as well as American style foods (including pizza, fried fish, burgers, and french fries). If that's not enough, there were gelatin and fruit options on the salad bar. The hibachi grill allows you to choose your entrée ingredients and have somebody else quickly cook them. It was 90 degrees out, and almost 80 degrees inside. Inside was dirty. Especially the fountain/fish tank when you walk in. Looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. The rude workers kept trying to push us out after our third plate. The food was low quality, a bit similar to most of the clientele (even more than most Chinese buffets). The fresh shrimp tasted like it was going bad. Would not trust the sushi. Worst of all, there are very few options here. read more

Lots of food at a great price! Love coming here when I have a big appetite and want to chow down! The price for the buffet is very reasonable and the offerings are very good! The service is pretty solid. For the most part, they keep the food fresh and the drinks coming. They also make sure your table is consistently cleared of finished plates! As far as ambiance goes, this place could use a bit of a touch up but for the most part, is a very cool looking restaurant that is kept surprisingly clean! Lastly, the food. They have a lot of good offerings like I said, but there are definitely some items they have out there I think most know to avoid, mostly the sea food. I'm not much of a fish person but it does not always look super fresh. Overall, I can't complain too much about this place. I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to give this location a very good rating today. The first thing, and that wouldn't have been so bad, but when we go in there, the food that's on the buffet is often not hot enough. In fact, a couple items were downright less than room- temperature. That's not very safe for food, not very enjoyable. The main reason I am unhappy with today's experience is something I know the restaurant may not be able to control, but there were a group of people in the back area near the restrooms, probably a table of a dozen people and a couple children, that were talking extremely loudly and boisterously. Downright rude. We did not enjoy our meal experience because of these loud- talking inconsiderate people. Maybe the waitstaff could keep an eye on that kind of excessively noisy customers, and ask them to please talk a little quieter. I actually wish I would have asked our very kind server to step in and do that for us. It is going to be very unlikely that we will return to this establishment anytime soon. TLDR: filthy (literal poop), nonexistent service, midgrade food. I have been here a few times and have never been impressed with the food. Everytime I've come it is for a larger party event (graduation, funeral types). I will say it's a pretty big restaurant. My party today consisted of 5 kids and 8 adults. So decent size and we were charged automatic gratuity for that size. We were there for 2 hours. Never got refills on any drinks. Everyone adult had an empty cup. It's a buffet so we were expecting our plates to be clear but we watched everyone 3 employees sit around chatting at a table across from us. They didn't acknowledge us at all. I will note it was a Monday evening and not busy but other tables did receive refills. Food was typical of a low grade buffet. My kid loved the chicken nuggets and fries and fruit. I tried hibachi. The beef was over cooked and tough and lacked flavor, with it being so dry i could've really used more water but .... Anyway. Spring rolls and Rangoon were the best things i had. I had a long drive home so I decided to attempt to go to the bathroom. When i walked in an employee walked out without washing hands. I watch her turn the water on and run one hand under no soap. The smell was so bad i had to hold my breath. Then i walk over to the stall ( the one next to the one the employee was in and there was a stopped up toilet and literally pile of poop on the floor. The food is good and the price is cheap! Great value for a buffet and they have healthy options like a variety of veggies and salmon.

The selection and food are excellent. It kind of reminds me of a cruise ship buffet. There is imitation crab. Sushi. Shrimp, and so much more! I even found a bottle of Yum Yum sauce for my sushi. The ambiance is so nice and the restaurant was quiet enough to hold a conversation with family and or friends without shouting over the music. read more

We are back on Christmas Day. Ample parking located in the strip mall. The staff seem nice and helpful. The food is absolutely just gross. It's gotten worse. Super low quality Americanized Chinese food, supplemented with lots of random fried food. Such as chicken nuggets, fried donuts, fried chicken wings, etc. all the food is either too salty or too greasy or both. The clientele is super sketchy too. Everyone looks mostly unwashed and afraid of some soap and water. The people next to us were laying across a number of chairs. If it weren't for the fact that others in the group wanted to eat here, I wouldn't have. I can see how they make money here. The food is so bad, it's all you can eat of nothing. I spent most of the time sipping my water and people watching. Would not recommend if eating is what you want to do at this place. read more

I was particularly impressed by how many fresh vegetables and sushi options there were. The salad bar had seasoned cucumber and tomatoes, as well as totally raw veggies. A really nice pasta salad, tender on shell shrimp and other salad fixings including two different kinds of greens. So nice to have something crisp and cold to go with the fatty, flavorful, fried foods Chinese American food is known for. Also, surprisingly nice desserts, such as little cups of cheesecake with strawberry sauce, coffee flavored cake and cinnamon coffee cake. All the meat dishes I had were really flavorful and the egg drop soup was very good, not too salty. Fried rice was good, lo mein was not too oily, and the various sea food dishes were well seasoned. I did not have the hibachi but like a nice selection. The only issue I had was that the fried dumplings over by the seafood were not quite hot enough temperature wise. Quick service, great food, went on a Tuesday at about noon and not too busy, plenty of soda refills. Really impressed by this place. read more

This place is amazing and the management is doing a surpurb job abiding by Governor Whitmer's almost impossible regulations. The food was fresh and amazing tasting. Clientele was more respectful than what I've seen at other places (where they've just made a huge mess with the food without any regard or consideration to others). This is by far the nastiest buffet I've seen in Lansing. The second worst is City Buffet. Let's see... For starters, the dishes at the buffet are halfassed washed. Utensils are hit or miss. The presentation of the food is horrible! There is no effort in maki g any of the buffet items look well arranged and attractive. The tables are either quickly wiped down, or not at all. I always have to ask the waiter/waitress to bring a clean damp cloth to the table. We used to go here as a family, but how we travel all the way to Okemos "New China" buffet. And then there's the issue about the bathrooms. Yes, they look like they get cleaned once a month. And that's just me being generous with the description. Bugs were present as well. Ok a few months ago I gave it low scores but we went there last week and I'd say it was pretty good. They made a lot of changes since the last time we were there. Almost a 3 star....but not. This newly opened Asian/American buffet is average at best. Decor is predictable. Service though pleasant had to be flagged down for everything...water, napkins,refills etc. The food choices are all something you've seen before...grilled meats,chicken,seafood. Salad bar. Deserts. Sushi. Hibachi cook to order station. Though this description and even the photos may look appealing, it's not that great in person. Much of the food is overcooked, bland or off tasting. We are not food snobs at all...and love a good buffet...but this is not one we'll be coming back to. The buffet is always filled and as soon as it empties they bring another tray. I have to travel a half an hour to get there with a friend and we go once every month. I brought my grandma here for lunch today march 10th 2022, the food was alright. but when we got seated my grandma and I went to the restroom to freshen up and wash our hands and by the time we came out our drinks were not at our table so I told my grandma let's go ahead and grab food. by the time we got back to the table our drinks still weren't there! at that point it had been almost 15 minutes from the time we came in to the time we sat down. we ate our food and when we were ready to go I asked the waitress for the check (unsure of her name). she then said "tip me $5!" mind you my bill was $21.09. witch means she was asking for over 20% tip. I find it rude when someone tells me what I need to tip them. she would've gotten a $10 tip but instead I gave her a $4.22 cent tip. I frequent this place allot and usually tip over 20% but I don't think I'll be back here until they teach their staff manners. read more

Had Hibachi Grill for a friend's birthday celebration last night and thought it was nice. They had a good selection of [Americanized] Chinese favorites including peanut butter chicken, sweet and sour chicken broccoli chicken, pepper steak, wonton soup, hot and sour soup, egg rolls, spring rolls, rice, noodles, and more. They also had sushi that included options that were about what you'd expect for a buffet (California, spicy California, rainbow rolls, etc.) Their hibachi bar was nice and included your four major proteins with a variety of vegetables (I.e. pork, beef, shrimp, and chicken). The restaurant was clean and the service was good. The price was very reasonable ($61 for five people and three sodas) and you can sometimes find coupons in the coupon mailers. read more
