Hibiscus is an institution for hungry workers from the nearby AF base. The food is always fresh and delicious, and the place is clean with a modern aesthetic. I highly recommend calling in your order ahead if you dine in during a peak time (right at lunch) as they typically have very little extra waitstaff as a family restaurant and don't seem to handle large rushes well. I don't view this as a place to get in and out on a strict lunch break. The staff could not be friendlier but they can just get overwhelmed when it's full. read more

The food is absolutely delicious. Thus far, I've had the gyros and salads and have never been disappointed. I will say the portions are fairly small for the price, but smaller portions aren't necessarily a bad thing and I do usually end up full. Taste is absolutely on point and as I write this, I think I'll stop by for lunch lol. I have yet to eat inside the place, but when I go in for my pick up order, the space is light, open, and airy. It's on the smaller side, but that contributes to the family feel and no one ever seems unhappy. The staff are so incredibly friendly and thats what ultimately makes for a wonderful experience. Additionally, the single server around 3 PM was very thoughtful filling my Greek Frappuccino when it was half empty. Because my friend gave me left over beef gyro prior, I wanted to try other dishes. First off our waitress was wonderful. Incredible energy and very knowledgeable about the menu. I was torn because I wanted a Gyro but I have never had Musaka. She met me in the middle and recommended a dish not on the menus yet.... Spetsofai. Damn.... What a dish. We called and asked them if they could do sort of a catering order for 35 people for a memorial service so I could serve food to the family. The man who passed away and his wife loved to get Greek food for date nights. They happily accommodated and were great to communicate with. Mary helped me get the right amount together at a reasonable cost. The food was all ready right on time and everything was made to perfection. It was packaged very well, all hot and not soggy. We got gyro and chicken pitas, hummus and pita, dolmas, salad, lemon potatoes, spanakopita and cheese pies. It was all great. They packaged the extras like onion, tomatoes and sauce for the wraps separately so people could create their own and so it wouldn't make the food soggy. Salad dressing was packaged nicely on the side. We highly recommend this place. It's authentic Greek food. Anytime we go this direction we will stop and eat. Came here with a friend to try something new. It took a little while for us to get a waitress. I ordered a beef gyro and the strawberry shortcake. The gyro was good and the dessert was some type cream. No cake really, not really strawberry tasting, it was unique. This place is traditional. My friend got the lasana looking item with baked zuccani, it was icky to both of us. My friend ended up getting a gyro as well and liked to chocolate cream dessert. Have been going to Hibiscus Cafe for many years. The new location is phenomenal. It's big enough for parties, luncheons, etc. Mary remembers everyone and makes you feel like family. The food is consistently spot on. I had the Pastichio and it was very good and filling. I couldn't even finish it! My husband had the Kokinsto and liked it, as well. I stopped here for dinner on a Saturday night on a business trip. I figured that any restaurant close to the base would be able to serve up delicious food with a short wait time. The service and dining room were great, but the food and prices were just okay. I surveyed the menu and decided that I wanted to something easier to prepare, so I ordered the gyro salad. It was underwhelming. First, it was not served with complimentary pita bread. It's been years since I visited a Greek or mediterranean restaurant that did not serve complimentary pita bread. I was not in the mood to order some bread when I would probably only 1 or 2 of the pieces in the order of 4, so I stuck with the salad. The salad itself had some crunchy veggies in it, but I was disappointed with the contrast between hot and cold. One of the things that makes a meat salad great is when the meat served on top is piping hot and it contrasts with cold dressing and veggies. This was not the case here. The gryo meat was the highlight of the salad - plenty of umami in there. Beyond that, the veggies were just food service quality. The worst part of the salad was the dressing. It didn't come with enough for my taste, so I ordered some extra dressing. When it came out, I tried a little bit and discovered that it was...olive oil. There might have been some other ingredients in the dressing, but I couldn't taste them. No herbs, no vinegar, nothing else. On top of that, they charged $1.00 extra for a 1/4 cup size container of extra dressing. I wasn't expecting that since it's not common practice at other restaurants I have visited. Besides the food, everything else about my visit was good. The dining room is decorated nicely and is well lighted. My server took an interest in getting my order right and taking care of me. If I'm in the area again, it would be worth a return trip to try the lamb. They were unfortunately out of lamb when I visited. read more
