Our King Suite had everything we needed, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was also incredibly friendly, and having a 24/7 front desk was a nice bonus. We've stayed at quite a few hotels, and this is easily one of our top two in this price range. The location is great too, just about 7 minutes from Siesta Key Beach. I just spent 8 nights at Hibiscus Suites on Siesta Key near Sarasota and we loved every minute of it! I cannot say enough about the staff. Every single shift had a new person working with a great attitude and beyond willing to help with anything you might need! The rooms must be newly remodeled because they felt new, modern, and very comfortable. They have free shuttle service called "The frog hop" which works only on tips. They will take you anywhere on Siesta Key and arrived within 5 minutes of being called every time we needed a ride. It was amazing! The pool at Hibiscus Suites is hands down the BEST POOL I've ever swam in which speaks volumes! It's beautiful, clean, and actually IS HEATED! I cannot say enough about that pool! Not only does the hotel offer you beach towels to take to the beach daily, but they also offer sunscreen for those who forget, and mind blowing enough they also have a nice selection of beach chairs, umbrellas AND boogie boards that are ALL also available to take with you to the beach on any day you choose! This amazed us and made our vacation much more comfortable at the beach! My kids loved using the free boogie boards that would've cost us $30 a day otherwise to rent at the beach! Excellent perk! Soooo, Thank you to the staff for making our trip extra great!!! {The beach is literally right down the road, you can walk if you like walking or shuttle but you are THAT CLOSE and yet this hotel was priced so well! We needed a last-minute overnight stay when our weekly vacation accommodation in Siesta Key was undergoing construction and was not ready for occupancy. I found Hibiscus Suites online and chose it because of the location. It is quite close to the beaches, but also close to restaurants and shops on the Tamiami Trail. The exterior is not particularly notable. But our two queen room on the first floor, #112, was very clean and it had everything we needed. There was a sliding barn door from the bedroom into the bathroom. The bathroom was very clean. The little kitchenette had a full-size fridge, a two burner cooktop, a microwave, and coffee pot with coffee supplies. The front desk folks were friendly. read more

Nice and quiet area and hotel, which was great for my boyfriend and daughter, both are very light sleepers and said they slept great! Close to multiple beach access points, just a 3 min drive to the closest one, siesta key beach, but you had to pay to park. We drove down the road a little further and found another public beach spot, turtle beach, that was free parking and less busy. We even found some awesome large seashells! Close to lots of good restaurants and we didn't have to wait at all to get in to any of them. Highly recommend and would stay again! read more

My wife and I spent December 2023 and January 2024 at Hibiscus Suites. The room was great, it had a 2 burner cook top, microwave and two queen size beds. The room was clean and comfortable. The heated pool was just across the yard which my wife used almost everyday. The grocery store and restaurants were within walking distance. We walked through the neighborhood daily. I can't say enough good things about the staff they were very friendly and helpful. We got pretty friendly with some of the staff. This location is our favorite spot to stay at when we visit Sarasota. It is within a few miles of a mall. There are plenty of commercial stores relatively close to meet all vacation needs. They do have an onsite laundry room. The outside is nice with an old time look. We choose this place because of their relaxed rules on being DOG friendly. They allow dogs to be left in rooms unattended. We also enjoy the free beach chairs they allow people staying at the hotel to use for their beach visits. They provide beach towels. The chairs and towels are free of charge. As is the free breakfast daily from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. The outside is well taken care of. The pool is a bit small but fitting for thIs small location. It is in perfect condition each time we stay here. The staff is nice and informative. They are there always ready to help. Housekeeping does not enter your room if you are there or you leave your dogs unattended. Housekeeping almost always instantly brings you anything you call the front desk for. The rooms are clean and spacious. The full kitchen comes in handy when you bring your children. It is always a plus to being some foods to cook yourself on vacation. The couch bed is perfect for children. The private bedroom is cozy for adults. Only flaw with the room design is the only bathroom is in the bedroom. They only get 4 out of 5 stars because they over charged compared to our booking price during our last visit. They do have Florida resident discount and military discount. They do have free WiFi. The t.v.s are easy to use if you being your toy stick or Amazon fire stick to watch what you want on them. read more

I have stayed at the Hibiscus Suites Inn on two occasions. They are dog friendly which is Important in my book. I confess I was a little sad to find they painted the hotel white. I could swear it used to be pink. You get a bedroom, a living room and a full kitchen complete with plates. There are coin operated laundry machines available downstairs which is nice if you are in town for the beaches. I drove to Brohard Paw Park and Beach in Venice which is about thirty minutes away. If you are here with your pups then the drive isn't bad. I think Siesta Key is pretty, but too touristy. Lido Beach is beautiful with the sugar white sand if you mind the crowd. Turtle Beach does not have sugar white sand. read more

I came down to Hibiscus Suites on a work trip. I have actually been here several times for work, but this one, in particular, I have had a prolonged visit. I checked into my room on Monday and due to it being busy season, I was placed in a kings suite - when realistically, I only needed 1 single bed for myself. I walked into my room and was SO shocked at how beautiful and large it was. The entire suite was so clean and tidy. The suite itself contained a fridge, dining room table, living room, and oven/stove. This was perfect because I had planned to stay the duration of the week and it felt more like a home. My fiance came down on Monday night and brought my lab with, knowing this establishment was dog friendly. My dog, Stella, absolutely loves the community. We get coffee in the reception area every morning and talk with the long term residents there. They are SO friendly and even remember our names! Each evening, after work, I come home to clean towels and a made bed - I need that at home! The staff is SO friendly and polite. They are truly there to serve the costumers and you can tell! Another positive is that Siesta Key is literally a stone's throw away. My fiance and I went down for sunset and dinner one night and it was perfect. The tail of two rooms This establishment went Jekyll and Hyde on us in a couple different ways. The most important was with the rooms. Our room, in the 2nd building, not the main one (the one built around the pool), was poor. The walls, not just one, but most, had dirty hand and finger prints all over them. I mean, standing out visibly. Would a wet towel or some cleaning solution be too much to ask to clean them up? Room seemed a little run down, additionally we were put in a handicap accessible room, which we did not request and did not want (no "bedroom" or "suite", just one open room). Very dissatisfied, room seemed run-down. Our friends though had a very nice room, was located in the building #1 (connected to office). Seemed like it was well kept, decent couches, a true "suite", more like the pictures on their website. 2nd Jekyll and Hyde moment: Staffing. Day time staffing are friendly, helpful, and responsive. Night time "staffer" (one person) was obtuse and didn't put any effort into helping the guests. Very odd difference because it was so extreme. Beds were clean and comfortable. Location is great (just off Siesta Key), and the pool was nice and warm! And you can't go wrong with the price. If it weren't for my room (and posted one example), I'd be all over this place for both the value and location, even with the apathetic night staffer (not a bad guy, just wasn't invested). Suggestion: Get rid of the plastic chairs some put out in front of their rooms.... VERY "motel" to have your room-neighbor sitting on her plastic lawn chair smoking for 6 hours straight. This was not my choice for our stay, but we travelled with a group of 18 and whom organized all of the rooms got a decent price at this place...it's no wonder! The check in process was smooth, the hotel overall clean. Breakfast, save yourself the hassle of waking up at 9am to make it. Awful! Everything from the "pancakes" (texture of the waffles) to the sewage water flavored coffee was a waste of time. The rooms have "dishes"...just buy disposable. The bowl fit about 5 pieces of captain crunch in it. Lol Most importantly, I laughed it off the first night; when my boyfriend told me he felt bugs in the bed. On the second night, I pinched one off of my skin at 4am. Kiss my sleep goodbye! I felt things crawling all over for the rest of the night. read more

The walls are all chipped. Not all rooms come with a kitchen. Mine didnt. The decor is old and cheesy. I literally have a plastic chair sitting out front of my room. This was the only place I could find that was not booked and now I see why. On a positive note...The bed was descent and there was a flat screen TV and free breakfast. This place is just a really old motel that they half way renovated. it is loud too. Every time someone opens and closes their door, I can hear it. I was glad that I chose this hotel. It was an easy drive to the local beaches. My room was very comfortable, only problem was the AC unit started leaking in the room the last two days. It was clean and the had a limited kitchen which was just perfect for lunch and breakfast. There were some limited pans/dishes. I had to buy some paper towels. I wish they had a baking sheet provided. They offer a complimentary breakfast, which was nice but when they cook the waffles it get smoky due to the poor venting. Even though I had neigbhors, it was always quiet. The TVs were newer and lots of channels. The pool was very nice! Great stay for anyone on a budget. read more

Five friends and I recently shared a motel room at the Hibiscus Suites Inn in Sarasota, Florida, as we all attended a wedding in the area over the holidays. Since people love to head to the beach for New Year's, the prices had been seriously inflated; perhaps if we had booked a room in mid-February or another less popular time, the amount we paid would have more appropriately matched the quality of the motel. The room, actually, was pretty nice, with a kitchenette; a living area with two sofas, a coffee table and TV; bedroom with a TV; vanity area; and bathroom. However, when we booked the room in September, we were promised two double beds and an air mattress to accommodate the two couples who I traveled with and myself. I even called twice after booking the room to ensure that those sleeping arrangements would be guaranteed and once more two days before our arrival. Of course, when checking in, the man at the front desk told us that all the air mattresses were taken, and had to be wheedled into giving us a king-size bed and sleeper sofa. Plus, the continental breakfast was a complete joke. I wish the motel's marketing materials had hyped the kitchenette instead, so we could have made breakfast in our room. The morning meal comprised cookies with sugar that had been dyed red, dried out danishes and an orange liquid in a pitcher. When my friend asked the man at the front desk what the liquid was, he half-said, half-asked, "Orange...drink?" It looks like the leftover staff holiday party sweets were turned into the guests' breakfast. Despite all of this, the motel was in the perfect location for our needs, just a few minutes away from the public beach and Siesta Key Village. RELATIVELY, the Hibiscus Suites Inn is an affordable motel amongst snooty condos and resorts. read more

We stayed here for a week while visiting some family in town. The location was perfect for us and very close to the beach. The hotel looked like they spent a bunch of money on renovations recently - nice pool and decor outside. Our room was also very nice and extra clean with one exception. It had a full kitchen and a separate bed and bath, but I think they forgot the carpet in the bedroom though...it looked like it had 10 years worth of stains on it. The front desk staff was always nice and helpful. Warnings - There were some big and loud groups that interfered with nap time for my baby a couple days. And the mattress was pretty uncomfortable compared to the big hotel chains (and mine at home). A great stay though! I booked on hotels.com for $100/night and feel like I got a good deal. Double check price a few weeks ahead of time, because it went down for us by $30/night and I was able to change our reservation. read more

We love to stay near Siesta Key Village where we can walk to all we want to do ... unfortunately we could not find accommodations in the village on the weekend we wanted to travel. The Hibiscus Suites Inn is 5-10 minutes from the Village. The staff was super friendly and helpful, they offer a decent breakfast, and the rooms were very updated and clean. We appreciated having a kitchen which we would have used it more if we were staying longer than a couple of days. This is a great, affordable option that puts you close to Siesta Key beach. Great location, economical, but not a 5 star hotel. I'd been here years ago, but this past visit we stayed with some friends (on the sofa bed). I like how the pool is out front and there's a grill, but the grill wasn't the easiest to operate. There's a great little patio behind the second building with a grill, but the grill back there had no propane tank. Lame. The pool was quite busy, and there were a lot of loud people there, which took away from the enjoyment, but this isn't the hotel's fault. Continental breakfast was pretty good, but we opted to cook in our room. This was alright, except for the fact that there were only 2 pans. Not a lot to work with. Also, the floor was really filthy. I didn't bring socks, so regrettably I had 7 eleven feet. Yuck. I'd recommend this place to someone not planning on spending a lot of time in the room. If you're out and about and boating and beaching it all day and need a cheap place to crash, this would work. read more

So we decided to try "Siesta Key Beach" for a vacation. We landed at Hibiscus Suites. Very nice hotel. Clean, friendly... kinda felt like we were HOME! The location is great, because you are right across a small bridge to siesta key beach(short walk) & all the key restaurants and hot spots. The best thing about the location is its 1 block to Tamiami Trail that has every thing, wallgreens, restaurants, cell stores & car washes etc. Judith the general mgr. and her staff are so accommodating and available 24/7. The free breakfast has a 4 hour window for the early birds and us late sleepers. there is a FREE FROG HOP transport bus that stops here to take you anywhere. On April 29, 2012, we reserved a room at Hibiscus Suites Inn for two nights during Memorial Day weekend (checking in May 26, checking out May 28). Our reservation was placed using Booking.com, and Hibiscus Suites charged our credit card for the one night deposit, as Booking.com's policy had mentioned that they might. On Saturday, May 26, we arrived at the Hibiscus Suites Inn around 10:00am, very early for check in but we were going to head to the beach for the day and figured we might as well stop by the hotel first in case early check-in was available. We were also hoping to request a renovated room since many previous reviews had indicated that rooms at Hibiscus Suites that had not yet been renovated left much to be desired. When we arrived, the lady at the front desk (I believe her name was Jenn) could not locate our reservation and proceeded to bring over the general manager Chris. The two of them just kept staring at the computer screen without saying a word to us for at least five minutes. Chris, the manager, then went into some dark and dusty back room next to the reception desk and we were left for another ten to fifteen minutes before he came back out to face the music of his property's negligence. In the meantime, we listened to another guest complain that he had managed to fix the air conditioning in his room himself, but the hot water was still nonexistent. Another guest was trying to explain to the front desk lady that he was coming to pay for the additional night that he had booked to extend his stay, but it took her almost ten minutes to locate his information in her computer system, despite the fact that he gave his name and room number multiple times. In the end, Chris' explanation was that Booking.com had notified Hibiscus Suites Inn that the reservation being made was for April 29, 2012, the day that I booked the reservation on their website, and not for Memorial Day weekend. Despite the fact that my Booking.com paperwork clearly stated the proper dates for the reservation being May 26-28, he continued to stand there inept and unsure what to say other than to blame Booking.com and report to us that their property was full for the weekend and they could not honor our reservation. He further claimed that Expedia.com is also known for making such mistakes regarding proper reservation dates, despite the fact that I have used third party reservation sites to travel all over the United States and also all over Western Europe without a single such incident occurring to date. Hibiscus Suites had also already charged our credit card for the reservation deposit, so his solution was that they could refund that amount. Not a solution at all...we explained that we were in town from Orlando (2.5 hours away) and were going to be stuck with nowhere to stay during one of the busiest travel weekends of the year. He basically forced us out the door while he called Booking.com to discuss the situation with them, as I'm sure he was paranoid about other guests overhearing the conversation between him and I regarding this unforgiveable mistake on their part. Several minutes after leaving Hibiscus Suites, Booking.com called me and was able to find us a nicer resort to stay at, unfortunately 8 miles away and near Sarasota Airport rather than the beach, since almost every resort in town was fully booked for the holiday weekend. Booking.com explained their reservation notification process to me, which is usually automated for large hotel chains, but because Hibiscus Suites is a small, mom-and-pop establishment without large scale, automated reservation software, they were sent an email from Booking.com with the same reservation information that was shown on my paperwork. They had to review the reservation, click a link within the email to confirm their availability, and then manually enter the reservation into their own tracking software for their reservation records. A separate link in the email from Booking.com allows them to access the credit card information that they used to charge us for the one night deposit. If Hibiscus Suites cannot handle utilizing third party reservation sites for reservations, which their GM Chris indicated is often a problem for them, then their business will surely suffer, since that is really the only way that most out-of-town travelers would ever be aware of such a small, unadvertised property. Lesson learned: When Hibiscus Suites' response to every negative Trip Advisor comment is to blame the fact that they are under construction and renovating, rather than take responsibility for their poor quality lodgings and management, then negligent reservation mistakes are par for the course. Although our trip was definitely negatively impacted by staying by the airport rather than the beach, I do feel grateful that we were able to stay in a clean room with working hot water and AC, something that Hibiscus Suites was struggling to provide for their other guests. read more

I just got married in Sarasota and chose the Hibiscus and their sister hotel on Siesta Key as the places for my guests to stay. This was a great decision. The hotels gave me a great price for my guests and were super accommodating to last minute changes--which with my family, there were plenty. The rooms are nice and spacious and come with fully equipped kitchens, which my mother- and sister-in-law greatly appreciated. The hotel is also very centrally located--just minutes away from the beach, restaurants and shopping. This made it very easy for my out-of-town family to enjoy themselves. Our priest was also from out of town and enjoyed laying by the pool during the time he was not marrying us. The best part about the hotel was the service. Everyone in the office was so nice and helped my husband and I coordinate with everyone. Requests were filled quickly and they handed out our welcome bags. This was my first time to stay at this hotel and I have to say I am very impressed!!!! I can't remember the last time I stayed at a hotel with so much to offer for the price!!! Starting with the front office, the staff is very polite and informative. The suite is so large with the kitchen and it's just perfect!! So close to the beach, free breakfast and a great breakfast, not just fruit and bagels, they offer a hot breakfast with fresh waffles and biscuits and gravy!! We stayed here for the weekend. It looked a little skechy from the outside but the rooms were somewhat updated and fairly clean. New countertops but old stove. Nice tile floors but older furniture. We tried to use the grill but only one burner worked...we made due. We cooked in our room and definitely got use of the kitchen, however, cooking with one skillet pan was somewhat challenging. We enjoyed the pool and the continental breakfast was pretty decent. I would recommend this to someone who wants to just chill at the hotel for the weekend. We probably won't go back only based on the location. It wasn't where we thought it was in relation to the marina, but that's no fault of the hotel. read more
