The 18 story tall Westin Sarasota has breathtaking views of Sarasota Bay with 255 beautifully appointed guest rooms & suites. It's located in Sarasota's arts district, in close proximity of the city's best theater, arts, beaches and 10 minutes from the airport. The location was great were able to walk to restaurants, theaters, the farmers market, and parks. There is a full-service restaurant, spa, and a spectacular rooftop incorporating a large pool, ample deck space, lounge area with fire features, a bar and food services with views of Sarasota Bay that many say has the best sunsets in all of Florida. We stayed at the Westin in Sarasota for three nights. We valeted our car and tried to check in at 2:30. Maria at the front desk told us it would be a few minutes and we can sit in the lobby and wait. We opted to wear a bracelet and go up to the pretty rooftop. An hour later, we waited on the check in line again and were told that our room would not be ready until 4 o'clock. At 3:40 we received a text that our room was ready. Our Suite #1804 was impressive. We had a balcony overlooking the marina & city, a sitting area, a wet bar and a spacious bathroom. Our room was equipped with two large screen televisions, a Keurig at the wet bar, a king size signature heavenly bed, floor to ceiling windows with panoramic views, a safe, a desk, magnifying mirror ... The gym had cardio & strength training machines as well as free weights. Headphones, towels and water were provided. The 19th floor rooftop pool had lots of seating and a full bar restaurant. Our delicious complementary breakfast buffet was served in the lobby restaurant. We enjoyed a drink on the rooftop one evening and watch the sunset. The beautiful spa on 3 had availability for facials, manicures & massages. Shuttle service could take us to Lido Beach, Saint Armands Key, the airport or downtown. read more

I visited the Westin rooftop for dinner and a Sunset view, which was incredible. The bartenders were absolutely amazing. They were so fun! The steak tacos were so good! I can't wait to go back! We arrived at 415 pm. And asked to check in. Check in is at 4. We were told we had to wait room would t be ready for an hour and since we had a suite nowhere to put us. We waited and were told the room was ready. Room was ok kinda twisty and turns but ok. We had dinner reservations downstairs and went to the bar. The restaurant and bar staff were ok. Did not go out of way to say hello or even acknowledge us. There was a large group on site but that shouldn't matter. At bar spent 100 and restaurant spent 400. Room was 500$ for one night. With all spent 1000 plus valet for 2 cars. When I left I called for me car and went to check out. I was asked how things were. The person who checked me out explained that ambassadors get a late check out and they take priority. What...I paid full price for the room and I should be just as important. I left with a really yucky feeling. I went outside to retire my car. He handed me the keys and said here you go. It was parked in a valet spot not near and I had just tipped him 20$. He said do you want me to pull it up? Well isn't that the point. No help loading car nothing. The service will stop me from coming here again. We are Westin/marriott vacation owners and at no property have we been treated or talked to in this manner. read more

Attended a conference at the Westin and found it to be very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The hotel is well maintained, comfortable and they did an excellent job handling the event. The meeting room, a/v and WiFi all worked well. The room itself was comfortable. I did find it a bit difficult to regulate the temperature particularly at night. The biggest challenges I had was with the bedding and specifically the duvet as it continued to slide off the bed and was generally cumbersome. Otherwise it was an excellent stay. read more

It did not start too well. We arrived around 230 to check in. Maria said that our room wasn't ready but would be in a few minutes and that I would get a call when it was. We went to the rooftop on the 19th floor where there is a pool and bar to chill. At 330 we did not hear anything but remember Maria said our room would be ready in a few minutes. We back back to check in and Maria told us our room would not be ready till the 4pm check in. We checked out the gym and at 345 got a call that our room was ready. . The gym is done well Good ventilation and a good amount of machines. 1 thing to note: You can stop at any floor without a room key. The elevators are not set up to only stop if you insert your room key in the slot. Sandra our housekeeper did a great job cleaning our room and making up our bed. Now about our room: While it was an upgrade and spacious it is a be careful what you wish for as we asked for an upgrade. Room 1809 while 18 floors above, you do hear loud noises from the traffic below. The bathroom is right next to the bed so when you flush the toilet makes a loud noise. This is also below their rooftop bar and pool. At around 1030-1100pm when they move the furniture for the night you hear it. Still this was a 5 star experience. read more

Great hotel. I can't say enough nice things. I was upgraded upon arrival (it was off season). They also handed me two free drink tickets (I only stayed for one night). The hotel itself was very clean. The valet was a little expensive, but somewhat expected. My room was fairly high up and came with an awesome balcony, with two chairs and incredible views of the water. The suite they gave me had a small living room, bathroom, and bedroom with the beautiful balcony. The rooftop had a nice size pool, and a rooftop bar with lots of seating. It was one of the nicest rooftop bars/pools I have seen. Plus, you get a nice breeze because it's so high up. It's a good location overall - 5-10 min drive to main street/downtown area and easily walkable to the water. I will definitely book this hotel if/when I come back to Sarasota! read more

The Westin Sarasota is a modern, intimate hotel offering a great location and excellent customer service. As a Marriott Rewards Titanium Member, I was upgraded to a room with an amazing view. The bed was super comfy and the Heavenly Shower was indeed heavenly. They gave me the option of taking points or a continental breakfast for each day of my stay. As they let me order anything off the menu, I definitely believe it's a better deal than more points. The rooftop lounge and pool are spectacular. Unfortunately, it was an unseasonably cool during my visit, but they had heaters for the lounge. Can't beat the view on the 17th floor. There are a ton of great restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. read more

We stayed at this hotel on our very 1st trip to Sarasota many years ago, and we recall loving their rooftop bar. Not just the drinks, but amazing views of the city and the sunset. So...on our recent trip back to Sarasota (3rd time), we decided to revisit the rooftop to check out the sunset. Sadly, the things were somewhat off. First of all, the bar service was WAY too slow...and at least my drink was sub-par at most. Also, there were too many groups of people jamming up the space here and there. The city views were spectacular was before, but the sunset was disappointing. The buildings were quite obtrusive in all the sunset pictures. I definitely preferred the sunsets at the beach. Overall, I was a bit disappointed with the rooftop experience...but at least my son got to see the views of the city from up there? Also, since this review is just based on our visit to the rooftop (not the hotel itself), I'll just leave my ratings the same. If I recall, the hotel experience may not have been perfect, but this was most definitely a snazzy hotel. read more

Had popped by the Westin for the rooftop views and drinks- honestly, gorgeous setup to catch the sunset, with the sights of the Ritz, Gulf and Bay, a birds-eye view of the highways + interstates, and other rooftop bars and restaurants. Just wanted to share that this place is totally worth the views and rooftop bar drinks, but obviously at the cost of this being a bit pricey. On our tab, a strawberry cocktail ended up being almost $23, a beer was $10, and a bottle of water $5. The bill really bites you when you're trying to park which ended up being $15 for the 2 hours that we were there. If it weren't for how expensive the price got with having this type of experience or if you're ready to put down the tab for the views, a really great way of spending golden hour in Sarasota (if you're not already at the beach). read more

We had a 2 night stay at the Weston while we between houses. The front desk checked us in quickly and efficiently. As a Titanium member we were upgraded to a nice room. The room was super comfortable and everything was cleaned to our satisfaction. Housekeeping did a great job. We enjoyed the rooftop pool and bar on both days. They had a full bar with some great beer on tap. Prices are what you'd expect. The bartenders were great and helpful with drink selections. Valet parking is the only option at $40 a night. :-( The AM we wanted our car, no one at the front desk would answer the phone to have it brought around. So, we eneded up waiting at the front door for the car for a while. read more

We arrived at the Westin with high hopes. The lobby was beautiful and clean. The associate at the front desk was friendly and welcoming. We are gold elite members, so they upgraded our room to one with a balcony which was nice. One thing I noticed as we were walking to our room was the heat in the hallway. It felt muggy and had no AC circulating. Thankfully our room was cooler! The room was small, but it just right for my husband and I. We went to the roof top bar & grill and I ordered "the Ybor special" (Cuban) it was smaller in portion but tasted delicious.. I'd definitely order it again. My mom has been at the Westin Sarasota for 3.5 months (so far) since she evacuated after Hurricane Helene. I live in CA but stay there with her often. I am very grateful for the staff who know my mom well now and are kind and protective of her. Everyone who works there tells me how much they enjoy talking to her and know her favorite orders and preferences. Each staff member is polite, helpful, friendly and just on top of things. The hotel is perfect for us. The restaurant has healthy and delicious food, the workout room is always clean and well-maintained, and the beds are extremely comfortable. (I don't often love hotel beds!) But everything at the hotel is top notch. Maria Anderson does an outstanding job running the front desk and other areas. My mom will often say, "don't worry, I will ask Maria." When I am not there, I know my mom is in good hands, and that means everything to me. I highly recommend the Westin Sarasota and find it is a place that feels high end and also comfortable, even after almost 4 months. read more

This hotel is fantastic all around, starting with our room which was luxurious and very comfortable. I preferred it over a similar room at the Ritz-Carlton. Our corner room had wall to wall windows facing the water and city and a balcony that provided amazing views. This is a clearly a well managed hotel all around. All public areas (lobby/halls/elevators) were extremely clean, stylish, and well maintained. The rooftop bar and pool areas are both great spots. We visited them in the early afternoon and they were relaxing and not crowded at all. What really stood out the most were the incredible employees. Our front desk host Valeria was especially amazing and the reason we felt the need to write a review. She was so kind and welcoming, she really made us feel valued as guests. 10/10 During my trip to Florida I stayed in 3 different hotels and this is my favorite. Upon arrival we were greeted by Russ, we were so lucky to have met such a happy wonderful guy! The bedroom is clean and spacious and so was the bathroom. Everything was so clean and perfect. Unfortunately housekeeping fell short of what we expected considering the cost of the room and the cost to park. Our towels were replaced with used towels. One face towel was torn, with holes in it. Great location as you are driving distance from Saint Armands square, and walking distance from the marina, and the downtown area with tons of restaurants and shops. Room was clean and comfortable. Customer service is great. The only thing I was missing was a Jacuzzi! Some nights were too chilly to get in the heated/warm pool since it was rooftop. A Jacuzzi would've been perfection. The awarded 2 star review comes from the unique rooftop experience and the cleanliness of the property. If you are someone who is looking for value on a long stay or vacation, The Westin Sarasota is not the place. Pictures online are an accurate representation of the property and added benefit of the Marriott flag, however especially in the off season you do not ultimately get what you pay for. For a 7 night stay minus valet the total was over $2,200! You definitely get a great room and nice experience but be prepared to spend an additional $50/day if you want their valet (I recommend parking 1 block away at the Palm Ave garage; it's by the hour for a max of $23/day no charge on Sundays! Ask for a high floor because the streets below the hotel are extremely loud and busy 24-7 with street racers and road rage, even on the 10th floor it is loud all night. Do not order their room service, limited menus and so many fees just to order. ($5.99 service fee + $6.00 delivery fee). Overall, I am not a person who needs the most out the money, but The Westin Sarasota lacks reasonability and nickel and dimes for everything! read more

If you want to spoil your mood for the whole day go to the Westin and eat Breakfast there, it was a horrible food. Buffet had only fewer items like burnt potatoes and dry sausages and not so bad omelets! One kind of yogurt and pieces of melon. That's all for 24 bucks plus tax. It was a motel breakfast that usually serves in motels for FREE. I just sat and the server rushed to me asking for drinks even I didn't have a chance to look at the menu. I ordered a coffee but that coffee was free with a buffet!!! Wow. Anyway she charged me for the coffee 7 bucks plus tax. When I complained about the poor breakfast the server told me to choose from the a la carte menu but I had a man near me who ordered from that menu and they brought the same shi...t to him burnt potatoes and dry sausages. It should be improved, otherwise the reputation of the Westin hotel will go down! You need to learn how wonderful Russian restaurants are doing with buffet breakfasts. There are so many items on a table that you don't know what to choose, in the 3-5 star hotels the breakfasts cost only 10-15 bucks including champagne and they are wonderful, so tasty that i wanted to come back there just for eating breakfasts!!! Stayed here for a weekend and while the area was nice, there were a few issues. When I was here they didn't require masks from guests. This made elevator rides really awkward because 90% of guests simply didn't wear masks. The room was large, we had a corner suite. There wasn't much of a view but we did get a little view of the water. The rooftop offers some really nice sunset views. Staff was all super nice, and were all wearing masks. The other major issue is the location of the entrance. You're only able to drive in through a one way street. If you miss it then you have to drive down quite a ways to make a uturn. Valet is the only option if you're parking a car. read more

I want to thank the entire staff at this hotel for such a memorable experience. When I checked in to the hotel I was advised that I am upgraded to the 17th floor with a Bay view. I also was given 4 free drink passes for the roof top pool bar. I walk it to my room and see I have a bottle of rose, strawberries, and a beautiful note from Juliana at the hotel. Thank you Juliana!!! This hotel is top-of-the-line, very classy and elegant. The aesthetic is giving.... rich. Perfect for a boujee Queen like me lol. My boyfriend, his friend and I came here the other night. We went to the rooftop bar and we got there at 9:30 pm. I'm a server/bartender as well so I understand that it's annoying to have to ring in food when the kitchen is about to close. Well Bailey, the bartender who finally came up to us after 15 minutes of being ignored by everyone (including her) didn't say hi, didn't ask how we were. We asked for a food menu and immediately got a reply back of "You need to order in 5 minutes then". Mind you, only 1 of the 3 of us were getting food. And my friend ordered 1 appetizer that took a while to come out. In between being rushed to order over priced appetizers, we ordered drinks. We told Bailey our order and she made my boyfriends and his friends drinks immediately and came up to me and said "I'm so sorry I already forgot what you wanted". I ordered a vodka/cran. It's one thing to be busy and rushing and forget 3 drinks (which she wasn't). It's another thing to go out of your way multiple times to be mean and nasty for no reason simply because I'm a girl. And I can't stress enough how much I understand being in the service industry. But it's not hard to just say hi or be friendly. Anyways, she finally gets my drink out and it's just cranberry juice. I tell a different bartender I'd like to change my drink so I order an Espresso Martini. I ask Bailey to separate my drinks off my boyfriend's tab so he doesn't pay for $11 for a cup of cranberry juice and a $19 watered down drink. When I ask for the check, she didn't take off the vodka/cran (I didn't drink it so I wasn't looking for a free drink, I just wasn't going to pay $11 for something I didn't order) so she gets an attitude with me over asking if she can take the drink off. She eventually does and gives me the fakest smile I've ever seen. Needless to say, we won't be coming back ever again thanks to Bailey. read more
