We dropped in and picked up a quick to go order. 7 Pupusas, queso birria tacos, & an order or platanos con queso and frijoles & a side of platanos. Total was something like $58 which was amazing, Quaint spot in a huge shopping center and very clean, friendly owner and very attentive. Everything was Delicious!! It had been a very long day so I didn't take any photos but it was all so fresh and full of flavor. We all loved our food and the pupusas were nicely filled and so packed full of flavor with the nice cheese crust from the cheese popping out of the seam (my favorite!) Wow! Hidalgos kitchen has the best Mexican/ Salvadoran food I've ever eaten. We walked in at 10:30am and the restaurant was so clean , we were greeted by the sweetest restaurant owners and seated immediately. The food was immaculate.. their tacos dorados were crispy and the masa they use to make their pupusas and tacos tastes so so good. I also ordered a dozen of their tamales to take home and they are the best tamales I've had. The masa has great flavor and the tamales are moist. Their meat is seasoned perfectly in all their dishes. We were in Colorado for a weekend trip. We went here because my husband was craving chilaquiles. So they pulled up as a good brunch spot for chilaquiles. So we went here, let me start off by it was a very welcoming, homey little spot. The workers were just amazing and very attentive and took care of us right away. So service was amazing. It's definitely a good little spot to take a few kids with you and clean. Now let's talk about the food.... The menudo was spot on amazing and I would definitely get it again if we went here again. The chilaquiles my husband was disappointed since they were dry and didn't have a lot of sauce on them. He said the taste was all there but didn't like how they were served. I got huevos divorciados. I got a medium hot. They were extremely tasty, the only thing I was disappointed with was that my tortillas were served under my eggs an they were alittle undercooked. I've never had eggs served on top of the tortilla, it was definitely different. I didn't take a picture but my kids got some carne asada tacos... an well let's just say you can never go wrong with those. Perfect serving portions and they were very very tasty. Overall, I rate this place a 4 only because of the disappointment with the chilaquiles and my eggs. Oh yeah the price was let's just say alittle pricey. read more

I can't say enough about how amazing this mom and pop shop is! The food is delicious every time we go! The service is exactly what you look and hope for in a shop like this. Just fantastic. We found Hidalgo's Kitchen at least 3 years ago when they were stuck in the old location. We are huge fans of trying out hidden spots. Sometimes those spots are a miss, but Hidalgo's was a HUGE HIT! My husband and I went back multiple times for takeout as the original location's dine-in area was not great. Recently I was out with my dad and he said he wanted Mexican. We happen to be in the same area as the original location so I looked it up and found they had moved! Congratulations for them, because the new location is fantastic, has a big kitchen, gas stove and best of all, a bigger and more inviting dine-in area! I swear, with their ability to cook with gas in a bigger kitchen now the food is even better! I didn't think that would be possible but it is. My dad was blown away. Came here about two months ago, we are from Houston, and I wanted Mexican/Salvadoran food and let me tell you, EVERYTHING we ordered was AMAZING! Even better than many spots in Houston. The green chilaquiles weren't just tomatillo sauce, like many places, it had great flavor. The pupusas were top notch, plátanos fritos were so good and the Tamal de elote is a MUST! The family that runs this amazing little restaurant is so nice! Service is very attentive and personable but they don't "bug" you while eating. It's super clean and nicely decorated inside. The food, the FOOD is some of the best Mexican that I've had in this city! They have a huge variety of different dishes and portions are quite generous. It tastes like home cooking. Wow! Small place and easy to miss, but DON'T miss it! I'm almost hesitant to say what I really think because I don't want this gem to get overrun, but they deserve the praise. We stopped in after reading the rave reviews and were so glad we did. The restaurant is small, but very authentic - the signs and menu are all in Spanish. Luckily, the staff will help you find what you want. We ordered Pozole (spicy pork & hominy soup) and a chicken quesadilla. The Pozole came in a large bowl with a side of cabbage, onion, peppers, a lime, and salsas. It was DELICIOUS! I added the veggies & the hottest red sauce. It made my eyes water, but it was soooo good. My hubby's quesadilla was huge, stretching across the whole plate - it also came with some salsas and was very tasty. I also got an order of corn tortillas - HOMEMADE! The only (minor) issue was that they had no iced tea - but the Mexican Coke was good. Looking forward to visiting again SOON! read more
