I had not been to Hidden Cafe since high school but it was just as fun as I remember it. It is a nice place to hangout and smoke hookah with friends. It's a very chill environment with great music playing and plenty of TV's hanging on the wall for you to watch whatever your heart desires. They have a variety of flavors available which is great because you can order whatever you are craving that day/evening. The coal service here is great so you are never really waiting for coals. When we got our hookah, it was not hitting very well. We let the gentleman know and he fixed it right away and brought it back out to us (great customer service!). Ladies-the women's bathroom is HUGE so you do not feel cramped. It was very clean when I used it, which is a BIG plus in my book. read more

In my health-defiant, eff-cancer, hookah heyday, there was nothing better than a jaunt to Hidden Cafe to smoke 4 hookahs. Now, its been nearly 2 years since I've been (and renounced hookah), so proceed with caution. What made the experience here all the more nourishing was their little menu of Mediterranian appetizers and beverages to wash all that smoke down with-- fruit smoothies, hummus? They've got it. The crowd is definitely young-- newly minted 18 year olds quick to flash their now-valid ID's. It lacks the sophistication that an older crowd would favor and I doubt I'd venture here anymore. TVs are always on and the music (hip hop, house) is bass heavy. The flavors of hookah range from the usual Apple to more exotic offerings. Also, they do combination blends as well. There are plenty of tables and a few couches strewn about. I've never left here without a thick raspy voice the next day-- a mark of a productive evening. They also have a hookah VIP card-- smoke 9 hookahs and get the 10th one free. read more

The only positive thing I have to say about this place is that it was clean. In all my years of living in Anaheim Hills I had never gone to Hidden.Tonite I was seated,orderd where I waited a good 20PLUS MINUTES(mind you, there was no crowd) ...after the 20 min mark is where I couldn't tell you if they ever brought out the hookah..I had left with a friend to Fusion Cafe in Anaheim where I have never had to wait longer than 5mins for my hookah. So with all of that being said this is my first Yelp review....I never thought I would have to write one but I was truly appalled at the lack of service. read more

This Hidden Cafe is bigger than the other Hidden in Anaheim. The coal guy was very attentive, walks around and changes coals for you very often. He's also very open and easy to talk to or start a conversation with. My friend had his feet on the couch and he told us really kindly that it's a rule to keep shoes off the couch. I really enjoyed the music they were playing as well. Some people might not like EDM but I even went as far as to ask for their playlist. The music was definitely my taste. Sadly, they don't really have a specific playlist that they built. They said they just pick a playlist to play off of Spotify. It's overall a very chill spot. I see a lot of people go alone with their laptop or just go to watch tv and relax with their friends. They have a lot of foods and drinks on their menus but I haven't tried their foods, only drinks. This hidden just became my new favorite spot in Anaheim Hills! Saw a beautiful all glass hookah in the window and had to order it! (Why don't more places have these?) The hookah hit really well! Our watermelon mint flavor lasted longer than any hookah we've tried! Even longer than fruit heads! We sat outside on a nice cold night with our fancy glass hookah. I've been to a few hookah lounges and I gotta say I wasn't really a fan. The one guy who was working there wasn't really helpful when it came to questions about pricing. This is pretty much a 18-20 year old hang out. It is a bar for those too young to go to an actual bar. The dark lighting and loud music make it difficult to do much except smoke hookah, which seems contrary to the social atmosphere hookah bars are supposed to be. I guess they see themselves as being to hookah what Lucky Strike is to bowling. It wouldn't be too bad except for their ridiculous rules. One hookah per 2 people. Most other places don't care how many people use a hookah as the more people that use one usually mean the shisha burns faster and they'll order more. With their one hookah per 2 people rule, you're pretty much stuck smoking one the whole night. Not good for those who like to try different flavors. It is also incredibly unfair to odd numbered groups. Imagine a bar having a 4 drink minimum for couples, but any single customer has to buy 4 drinks for himself. It is also horrible for people who don't smoke. They used to let you off the hook as long as you bought some food and drink, but the last time I was there they told my friend he had to get a hookah. Haven't been back since. Rules like that are why the only people who go here are 18 yr old kids with nowhere else to go. read more

You'll definitely run into someone you kno...or wish u didnt kno here. They play top 40s/house music..and randomly put on movies. Hookahs pretty good...great happy hr w half off hookahs too . Don't get the food here. Don't do it. Just don't. I recommend this to outsiders not wanting to die of boredom during their first night in anaheim hills. For a pittance ($14), you'll get 2 hours of ring-blowing hookah at HC. The plush seating is limited, but you'll be kept comfortable with a mix of Turkish/Persian and Arabic music over the PA. Hookah techs tend to your needs, bringing you hot chocolate, tea and clearing your smoking equipment for maximal pleasure. Might I recommend pumpkin and vanilla mixed tobacco, and have them sprinkle cinnamon on it as well. De-lightful. The owner is a cool guy and I'm probably at fault for again being connected to him through a friend and knowing him on a personal level, but that's what it's all about: MY personal experience! I've gone here 3 times now, in 2 weeks. It has taken a toll on my cardio program at the gym. But I'm down less than $50 total! Heyyyoooo! When my friends and I walked in no one greeted us and its impossible to hear anyone over obnoxious techno music. Chill place. Movie nights are cool. Laker games and UFC fights. That's just the beginning. I've been to Hookah lounges from SF, Vancouver, Seattle, DC, NYC, Chicago, India, and Pakistan... You have to know the place to right a review of it. For one thing, I've been going to either Hidden for years. Why? The owners are friendly. The waiting staff always has change overs so I've already grown accustomed. If you want free wi-fi, some good hookah, not as loud as Dream cafe, and still be able to hang with your friends. You come here. It's clean and if you have a problem, you can tell them without backlash or anyone spitting in your food. They use regular coals, not the crappy quick start coals that some hookah cafes use. The music is a variety or mixes, from Arabic to Desi to House to Hip Hop. Big Groups can call in early and reserve the couches. They also have a frequent hookah card, for every 10 you get one free. Happy hour is every day 6-8pm hookah half off. With Hookah being expensive everywhere...it's a steal. It's comfy, it's lively, it's chill. Have some fun with friends. read more

I liked hidden the last few years, but recently, it had just become "ok". The hookah quality seemed to have gone down. Flavor and duration arent the greatest. But, its clean inside and out with nice furniture. Price for hookah, drinks, food, and etc are pretty fair. Its close to home/work so im happy with coming here. a decent hookah place located in anaheim hills. i only say that because i don't have to drive that far, since its pretty much located down the street from me. lol my friend and i got the vanilla and coke mix, for about 12 bucks. it was decent for the price i paid. it was packed very well and the flavor and smoke lasted for a very long time. i also got the guava drink for 2 bucks. its comes in a 10 oz cup, but it was really nice to drink something that was refreshing! the coal boys come around every 20 mins, and are very professional with rearranging your coals and giving you new ones. they have happy hour from 6-8 daily. i believe. don't quote me on that. its 1/2 off on hookahs. the music is banging in here, and they play your top 40s...with more bias leaning towards house/electro. sometimes the volume gets loud, and if you wanna talk you gotta shout. As with their other location, this is a hang out for the young crowd. The 18+ crowd. The college student crowd. There are 3 TVs on at all times, all showing showing the same program (on my visit it was Ultimate Fighting... not quite what you'd expect to be watching in the supposed relaxing confines of a hookah lounge, but peep the clientele). The TV volume was turned up just loud enough to be overly intrusive and not very easy to drown out. We sat at our table for several minutes before we were even acknowledged. We almost felt intrusive for turning on our table light as a final, desperate attempt to be noticed. Long story short, we won't be back. The biggest disappointment was being there for close to 30 minutes before we could even get the "coal guy" to come over and heat our hookah FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME. It was like he had blinders on and he stuck mainly to the room's perimeter (we were dead center, you'd think we'd be fairly easy to spot). The two star rating is given (as opposed to one) since our coal guy came to finally appreciate that we were the only table in the place that wasn't being rude and waving him to come over. Once he realized we were treating him respectfully he did make several returns to freshen our coals. My friend and I keep trying various hookah lounges and it seems that most of them (like Hidden Cafe) cater to a young, loud clientele who likes their hip-hop and HAS to have a TV on. In the whole of Orange County we've now found only TWO places that are more traditional, attracting an older group of patrons, and make you feel welcome and respected when you're there. Too loud, very poor service, acceptable flavors, good size. It took us forever to get a waiter to take our order, and then even longer to get coals after we had the hookahs (which came out fairly promptly). The hose kept falling out of one of them, and after some intense flagging someone eventually came over and attempted to fix the problem. It continued, and many minutes later someone else came over and actually fixed it. It wasn't even that crowded during this visit. Don't be hatin' on the 18-20 year olds. Everyone needs a place to hang out and relax with friends with rather (but not obscenely) loud music. Good for them for finding Hidden. If you don't mind poor service (and it's not that necessary), Hidden is a fine choice for a place to chill in OC. read more

I come here at least once a month. It's a great spot to chill and relax with friends or by yourself. Free wifi. Just ask someone for the password. The hookahs are pretty damn good here. They burn longer than any other places I been to. Not to mention the selection of flavors they have. The hidden mix is just delicious. The service is great. All you gotta do is press the flood light on the table. Not that hard. If you had a bad experience here, it's because you went when it was super busy (weekends/sporting event/etc). It is difficult to get a table then, unless you don't mind waiting. As for the location, the name says it all. It is a bit hard to find it since you can't see it from the streets. I give this place 3.5 stars, one because the owner is great, second because Danny the employee " tall guy with glasses " is great at his job and very welcoming and polite, Mario is hard working and sometimes too strict even with usual customers, Greg is also extremely helpful and polite, and third star because the place is in convenient distance from my house and some of my friends go there. Other than that, service comes with attitude some times, it's dirty and dusty most of the times with lack of proper ventilation. And some employees are in my opinion physically there but not paying attention to the tasks given to them. I really miss the old days at this place when it was organized, clean and valued the every day customers. Few weeks after " French fries are great here and service has improved a lot and looks very clean now. So 3.5 stars update." Another recent change I don't understand is now they are asking for one hookah per person. Very questionable move since less people are coming here on average I would rank it now 3.5 stars if I could. Check it out of you are in the area and judge it for yourself. 50/50 chance of good hookah. I feel like none of the hookahs here ever get washed. It doesn't matter what flavor you order because all the pipes and hoses are so stained with flavor that everything tastes the same. I only smoke mint and every time I order it all I taste is fruity leftover flavor from everything else that's been smoked in the pipe. This places is a bit pricey and I feel like for what you pay, the flavor you get should be crisp and fresh. Not only that but the tobacco they use seems to burn so quickly that it's unpleasant to smoke after about 20 minutes. I've made a few specific requests before and never get what I ask for. All that being said, I really love the atmosphere here and would definitely be a more frequent patron if not for the high prices and poor quality. read more

Hidden Cafe . . . One of the best hookah spots in all of so cal. As a hookah connoisseur, it generally takes a lot for me to leave my hookah to go out and pay for hookah. Hidden Cafe is that type of location. Friendly staff and owners, the more you go the more they get to know you, and they will make you feel a part of their hookah family. They use real coals, and high quality tobacco, meaning they do NOT cut corners. The music is lively, but not obtrusive enough to prevent having a decent conversation with a friend or a date. If you show up unannounced they will do their best to get you in as soon as they can. Once you are in, they wont try to force you to leave. If you are there, you are their guest. ive been here many times and i never had any complaint about this place. Even if there would be a problem, i would ask and the servers there would be generous to do so. i came here 4 days in row this week and quite enjoyed me time there. the past two days we asked for a house blend, 15 different flavors, IT WAS GREATTT!! its like sweet with many different fruits and towards the end, its like sort of minty in a way. I have a confession to make. After quitting a while back, I've started smoking hookah again. This place is alright. The flavors are good, but sometimes, the hookahs they use can be in various states of disrepair. The last few times I've gone, my hookah had leaks, introducing air into my hose as I tried to smoke the shisha. I confirmed this by blowing into the hose and feeling for escaping air. Also, it's too dark and the music is too loud. It can be difficult to talk to your friends sometimes. If they turn the lights up just a little bit and turn down the sound a notch, I think I would have a better time. Alas, this place will never compare to my old favorite, Al Basha Cafe. read more

Great place to just relax and socialize. The owner here is very helpful (although I always seem to get carded whenever I come in), This place is not super loud unless it is a Saturday night and there is a UFC fight going on. Also, if you go around 8pm on a Saturday night it might be crowded and you may have to sit outside so make sure to bring a jacket. Hidden cafe has very good quality hookah that lasts very long. Ze Hidden Cafe. Where to start. This is a hookah lounge and I am a regular. Prices are great, especially happy hour. I've come to know the owner Abood as a kind and fair owner. Summers, Danny, Mario, Greg are all great workers. All except for Brooke. Shes amazing!!!!!! always great service from her!!! And last but not least Joe, he's the best in the West. Sometimes the hookah can be better and a lot of times the coal service can be better. But this is the case with most hookah bars nowadays. Just hoping Hidden can rise above the rest in this regard. I used to go here all the time back in my early 20s. Hidden Café's prices are very reasonable and their happy hour (6pm-8pm I think) prices are very low. Yes, they probably use cheap Egyptian hookahs and yes, the quality of the coals and the quality of the tobacco is probably subpar. At the same time, the place has a good ambience, the employees generally seem friendly and attentive, and I've always received reasonably good customer service every time I went to this place. Keep in mind I used to go to this place 1-2x/week back in the day ('07-'09). The seating is pretty comfortable and back in the day, they used to pay-per-view the UFC fights here which was a HUGE draw for the customers. The food here is ok, nothing special. For drinks, I recommend the mango juice, it's pretty tasty. read more

While this place is a hit or miss for me, I still find myself here on the regular. First, the pros. The staff is very attentive and friendly, take the time to say hi to them and you'll find out they are great people and they treat everyone wonderfully. They have a large selection of hookah including many flavors, fruit heads, iced hookah, drinks, food and more. Hit up this place at happy hour, and you won't regret it. The biggest benefit of Hidden, and the reason I keep coming back is the environment and atmosphere. The variety of costumers including regulars and new comers don't make anyone feel out of place, like some hookah bars do. And it doesn't turn into a crazy wanna-be club like Starbuzz does. (I'd go to a real club if that's what I wanted) It's a laid back, yet still enjoying myself kind of vibe. Which is exactly what a hookah bar should be. And if you come around often enough, you'll meet a bunch of cool regulars. On the flip side: Sometimes the hookah quality isn't the best, and you'll struggle for coals. I also think the whole place could be a little more clean. But I think they can work on that. read more

This place has gone downhill so much. The hookah tastes gross now and the hoses are all taped together. They are not friendly and helpful like they used to be. We were smoking and after an hour an extremely rude lady said happy hour is over and took one of our hookahs. We loved this place for years and it's sad to see our local hookah lounge turn into a crappy place. Hidden Cafe is the best hookah place in my books. Its the perfect place to study and just hang out. As a night owl studying for the bar exam, its the best spot because it opens until 2am Sun-Thurs and even until 4am on Fridays and Saturdays. They're even open on holidays! I am a frequent customer at Hidden Cafe (La Palma location) and I must say, I am content with the general operation of the hookah lounge. I go there so frequently with my friends that it comes to the point where we know the whole staff (who is new and who is not). Unlike other hookah bars, they don't blast music to where you think you are in a freaking concert. This place plays decent music at an appropriate noise level to where you are able to have a legitimate conversations with your friends. As for the ambience, it is a pristine setting. When it comes down to the flavor/tobacco, I am very satisfied with the quality and whoever packs it. I also like how the staff can tell me their honest opinion of flavors that I have not tried and what goes well with each other. Another thing I like about them is that they have this thing called "Spot On" which is a reward system for how many spots you accumulated. For instance, a free refill I think is 5 spots, free hookah is like 8, free hookah and refill is like 10 but there is more than that. In addition, in order to get a spot, I believe you can get 1 per day for each hookah but don't quote me on that For the things I don't like, I don't like how it can get crowded on big nights such as fights, games, or movies that are being played but you can't blame the customers for loving the area! Even though that is something that is not really a big deal, there is this one (without offending anyone who reads this) mexican employee who does not seem to be very good in giving coals and arranging them. I mean come one, even a new person that was recently hired was better. Other than that, EVERY employee besides him is very nice, kick back, and understanding.
