There will be a check in host and stand there and wait (it will be located up against the wall with a big secret door right next to the hostess station) It's very New York inside. When I first came in Spring with the amazing, Karen, the menu and everything was great Now, I took my friend who was in town from Nashville and it was a brand new theme. It's the great Gatsby. Even our waitress, Jasmine was dressed for the occasion. I would say this place is known for Absinthe. They have cocktails featuring it or you can get one of the huge apparatus (huge and glowing green) which, if you are into it? I highly recommend. Just one of the huge apparatus makes one regular drink. Or, what Karen and I did, was split it and make it into a shot for the both of us. The waitress comes out and shows you how it works and goes over everything. Karen, who I came with, was a pro and knew her way around it. She showed me the ropes lol. Honestly, if you are here? When in Rome. Go all out and try it, since it's where they shine here. They took off a few menu items and added some themed drinks. ( a couple new champagne themed drinks) They have big entree items but I suggest small bites and sharing and mostly coming for the drinks. There's no bathroom inside, so you do have to leave the bar and go to the closest one (over behind Randy's donuts) and then enter the speakeasy again Both times coming here I've never had an issue. It's a small, packed place. And yet they still have the cocktails flowing and the food coming out in a good time. So the food and drinks are good Atmosphere is lovely. Service is good. Date night for mom and dad away from the kids type of night. Very mellow and chill. Small but cozy. I loved the Gatsby decor. We chose to be seated at the bar. Service was decent. I really liked the clarified strawberry drink, similar to strawberry and cream. I ordered a drink after that unfortunately forgot the name (photo attached with a tall glass) but there was no special cocktail craft taste to it. Just hard liquor taste and undrinkable :( the bartender kindly offered another drink. Unfortunately none of the food was the least bit good. Steak and fries was ordered medium rare and cooked to medium well with what seemed like no seasoning was on there at all. Crab cake was just ok and the slaw beneath it was drenched in a vinaigrette that was just sour and unpleasant. And the Mac and cheese, as we were very hopeful and looking forward to, was probably the blandest Mac and cheese we ever had. We asked the lady bartender for salt and she handed us, no exaggeration (and you guys will probably think I am) a salt shaker with 10 grains of salt in it and said "looks like there's a lil something you could still get out of there" My jaw dropped. But yeah. The shredded meat on top of the Mac and cheese was cooked beyond the point of edible. That one was unfortunately sent back bc we just couldn't eat it. The Blind Rabbit currently has its Great Gatsby theme in action with 1920's inspired décor and special cocktail menu. It's in its final week, so we visited again to check it out. They always do a great job with decorating when they have a new theme in effect, and the Great Gatsby décor is no exception. The room is filled with lots of gold streamers, hanging gold light fixtures, art deco artwork, Roman columns, etc. Reservations are highly recommended. We checked in at the host stand with Emma who was very friendly. She seated us immediately at the bar as requested. We enjoy talking with the bartenders and watching them make drinks. Ruben was our bartender and he was excellent in all aspects. I started out with Between the Sheets from the Gatsby menu (rum, cognac, orange, lemon, $18). Rum and cognac is a great combo. This cocktail is spirit forward and well balanced. She started out with a Bartender's Reserve (you call the spirit and flavor profile, and the bartender crafts something special for you, $20). She gave parameters of no hard liquors like whiskey or cognac, not sweet, and not refreshing (i.e. no cucumber). Ruben made the most amazing gin based cocktail. Some of the ingredients he mentioned were plum, passion fruit, pineapple, lime, and a bit of chartreuse and soda. It was complex and perfectly balanced, with great flavors. We have been here many times, and he even served it in a unique tiki mug that we've never seen here before. Now it was my turn to put Ruben to the test. I also wanted a Bartender's Reserve, and I told him to use any spirit as long as the drink focuses on banana or apricot flavor. He went to work, and after a short time a beautiful frosted glass was served to me. I forget all of the ingredients he mentioned, but it was rye based with banana liqueur, a small foam top, and fresh shaved cinnamon on top. The banana was perfectly present with the rye at a nice level. This was a home run all the way. Of course, she wanted another magical creation, and Ruben went to work yet once again. She was served a beautiful yellow cocktail, and he even hand cut a little lemon fish garnish. It was mezcal based with yuzu, elderflower, mango, and lime. It was perfectly balanced, the smoke was at the perfect level, and again it had a great mix of flavors. There was some left over, and he even gave that to her in a chilled side bottle with its own baby's breath flower garnish. It's so fun to watch their bartenders create something from scratch, grabbing various bottles, mixing, tasting, adjusting, and then garnishing and serving. In addition to Ruben's delicious creations tonight, Adrian and Sergio have also made us delicious custom crafted cocktails on several occasions. I'm not sure what The Blind Rabbit is like on any given evening, but if Sergio is taking care of you, well then you are in for an extraordinary evening! Not to get your hopes up or anything, but he makes your visit to this speakeasy an elaborate and awesome experience. We came here for a dear friend's birthday, so I had no expectations of the place- we just went to celebrate him! One thing of note: vegans beware! Eat before you come here! Our only option is hummus. Came for the drinks though, not the food. The ambiance is dimly lit to create the intimate vibe and there was a Great Gatsby theme. Had reservations for a party of four (made via online) and was seated right away. Ambiance is dark and intimate but seating was enough to feel like you had room. Such a fun experience! If you're looking for a lowkey spot to sip on some elaborate cocktails this is the place for you! Tables are very limited so I highly recommend booking a reservation online. You check in with the host by the sake barrels and they will guide you in. The reservation allots you 90 minutes to dine and drink, and it was honestly the perfect amount of time. My boyfriend got 3 drinks, and I got 2, all were amazing and so unique! The bartender did a good job of rotating around everyone and pacing you pretty well in the process. I absolutely love this simple little secluded speakeasy within the Anaheim Packing House. The Blind Rabbit was our first speakeasy and for that it will forever hold a nostalgia in my heart but it also serves up some great cocktails, some tasty food and the service has always been tremendous. The Blind Rabbit is very small inside so reservations are always recommended and they typically adhere to a fairly strict dress code (this is currently not being enforced for the time being) and you get a 90 minute limit once inside. We have been here a half dozen times and it never disappoints. The cocktails and food options do change and keeps things fresh as well which is nice although I do wish my Islands in the Heavens drink was still on the menu. The door is very well hidden, I thought it'd be in a basement around the corner or something. The space is really small, so big groups are not advised. I had the niña fresa, a strawberries and creme type drink. Delicious! If you like sweet drinks, otherwise do not get it. I had the Saturn afterwards. Still a little sweet, but mostly sour. The server came by to say that we only had 25 min left, so we hurriedly ordered a last drink. But when he delivered it, it magically became 5 min! I chugged my drink and was ushered out the door. This place never ceases to impress! My husband and I came specifically for the summer soirée menu they have running right now. Everything tasted amazing! The scallops are my favorite thing to order whenever we visit becuase the ingredients are always different. It's currently made with passion fruit rice, Tahiti sauce & scallions and it is to die for! Parking can get hard since the lot is small. The bar is located inside the Packing District. It's best to make reservations 'cause the bar can get packed, and then you'd have to wait awhile. I've gotten mixed reviews for this place and I just wanted to check it out for this place. My honest review is, that it's actually pretty great!! The check in area is on the first floor next to the swings (if you know the double swings at the sitting area) and the host tells you if you can sit right away or if it's reservations only. I went on a weekday night without reservations and the speakeasy bar had some walk-in tables available. The inside isn't too big, usually small table or bar style. I had really loved the food menu on my previous visit, but I didn't realize the menu rotates. This time I ordered the duck confit truffle mac and cheese along with a tequila sour. Unfortunately, the duck was a bit dry, and the top layer of the mac and cheese was also dry and slightly hard, while most of the cheese sauce had settled at the bottom. Found this place while searching for local cocktail bars close to the Anaheim Convention Center. It's located on the lower level of the Anaheim Packing District, which is made up of multiple businesses spread across a few different buildings. The Blind Rabbit is in building B (I think... 2 story building right off the main road). A reservation is highly recommended, as this spot can only hold about 30 people. As I went alone, my reservation was for a bar seat, which was cool as I was able to watch the bartenders make lots of very cool shaken and stirred drinks. This place serves absinthe drinks plus absinthe served the traditional way (cold water on sugar cube into the alcohol). I did not try that, but was tempted. My pineapple old fashioned (Retired Old Man was what Sergio (bartender) told me) was very tasty. The Tamerand Marg with mezcal that I tried next was just okay (should have stuck with the whiskey!). The ambience is great, but it is quite dark inside. Use the light under the bar top to read the menu. There is food available. I tried the crabcake and thoroughly enjoyed it! If you go looking for the entrance, look for the "boxes" stacked against the wall and the black bunny handle (next to a hostess station that may/may not be staffed). Photos were highly discouraged, so I respected their wishes and just enjoyed the moment. I hope you enjoy it too! read more

I've always wanted to try The Blind Rabbit. Last month, I heard through the grapevine that they were doing a Harry Potter theme, which finally pushed me to book a reservation. Our reservation was at 9:15 pm on a Saturday night, so we had dinner beforehand in the Anaheim Packing House. At 9:15, we walked over to the hostess stand to check in, but we were told that the kitchen was running behind. We would have to wait for a text to call us back. Around 20 minutes after our reservation time, we were finally allowed inside.  The inside of the speakeasy was stunning. Above, the ceiling was charged with the lightning of mystical storm clouds. And underneath, the soft, warm glow of the bar made me feel like I was standing outside an English pub on a rainy night. It was as if I was standing in Hogsmeade itself on a particularly magical night. Our server Georgina quickly made amends for our delayed seating time by delivering a tray of Cosmopolitan shots on the house. All was forgiven. The Cosmo shots, although strong, were refreshing and delicious - and for $0, they were great value.  My favorite drink of the night was the Lovegood Sour. I'm a sucker for tropical fruity flavors, and combining the pineapple with heavy spiced flavors such as the rye and cinnamon worked well and just made sense. Such a cool location! Emma (I believe that was her name) was efficient checking us in and leading is to our table. The waitress was also great and there was already water waiting for us. Since the water was sitting out, it wasn't as cold as I would have liked. But that didn't bother me too much since I ordered a Niña Fresa drink! This was such a fun experience. The theme was the Grinch and it was perfect for December! Our bartender Adrian was super cool and helpful in deciding what to order. I asked for something not high in sugar and he recommended a guava drink that was AMAZING- wish I remembered the name of the drink! And the presentation was soooo cute! Drink was served in a cute little wooden box filled with ice and some baby's breath for decoration! The taste was 10/10! Adrian recommended their fried olives which were shockingly delicious. And I am not a fan of olives but you couldn't tell these were olives you were eating! 9/10 The artichoke and cheese dip with warm pita bread was amazing as well. First, a general tip for those unfamiliar with Anaheim Packing District - take a rideshare or carpool if you can, otherwise be ready to commit to circling around the block many times trying to find parking, valet or otherwise. The Blind Rabbit is a hidden in plain sight speakeasy on the ground floor in front of the Roilling Boil, easy to miss if no one is standing at the host stand. Look for the colorful sake barrels which mask the cleverly camouflaged door. Ambience inside is everything you would want from a Prohibition style bar, dimly lit with mood music playing. Their featured cocktails all sounded promising, and I opted for The Long Night, their take on an Old Fashioned. Unfortunately was disappointed with the end product - although there was some novelty of being served in a hot chocolate mug with a gingerbread cookie on top, the bourbon pour was so sparse my friends asked if they forgot to make my drink. My duck confit macaroni and cheese was so-so. Sounded like a cool concept, but the milder cheese flavor only served to enhance the gamey taste from the duck. On the other hand, my fellow dining partners both ordered the Blind Rabbit Burger, and did seem to enjoy it. Just a final parting note, there is a 90 minute limit to the dining experience. I highly recommend the Blind Rabbit it was one of the coolest places I've been. It's slightly difficult to find but that's the fun! The atmosphere feels like peaky blinders and super cute with a piano playing and the drinks are really good and creative. I'd go here for any celebration. And the service is amazing they give great suggestions for drinks there's also non alcoholic beverages too that's are equally as great! Great small speakeasy best one yet! read more
