Mother Earth is a cute brewery with inviting indoor and outdoor seating. We were lucky enough to snag a spot in their small parking lot (score!), especially since my friend and I were both in heels. We came for Plant Bingo hosted by Florra Collective at $30 per card. I tied for Bingo with another gal, but the tie-breaker was rock-paper-scissors and only one of us got a prize. We BOTH got Bingo--even a sticker would've been nice! My card was also taken because I was told it was an "old card," which was a little disappointing. Aside from the Bingo hiccups, we had a great time! Mother Earth's service was awesome, they offer beer, wine AND kombucha, and we enjoyed some yummy smoked BBQ from the Papa Bears food truck outside. Solid beer selection with a few non-alcoholic choices. Decor inside is festive and fun, though we were here early on a Wednesday and pretty much the only people here. The service was great. Husband's favorite pours were Project X renaissance and Nitro milk truck stout. I had the kombucha which was refreshing and tasted the Cali Peaches & Cream - which had nice flavor with terrific peach aroma. No food trucks this early in the day (weekday, noon) which was a bummer, but understandable! read more

Tried to come here right after a Boise State day game and the place was absolutely packed, not an open seat in sight. We left but did come back later that evening and were easily able to get a spot for our group of 8. They have a huge drink variety with over 20 taps, guest taps, cider, kombucha, non alcoholic beer, and wine. Since we had been bopping around drinking all day and they didn't have any sours on tap I decided to go with wine. I was super excited to see the winery for the white was one I had just been to in Sonoma, so I knew it would be good. There was a food truck parked outside so you can get food and bring it back in. This spot was super fun and I'm excited to visit again for a beer flight when I'm back in boise. read more

MEBC brews some of my favorite beers and yet I've never been here before so it's nice that this is brewery visit #270. MEBC has a very well done spot in downtown with a huge patio area. Super welcoming and well done. They have a lot of their beers on tap which I haven't tried before. They just don't market a lot of them as heavily in the stores as the mainstays like CaliCreamin. CaliCreamin and Tierra Madre have long been a staple of mine when hanging out at the pool or the Colorado River. And of course Milk Truck is a great stout. I felt the need to go with beers previously unknown to me though. My flight started with Urban Solace IPA. A really good IPA with smooth flavors. It had a depth to it that is very reminiscent of a milkshake IPA. CaliTruck is a mix of CaliCreamin and Milk Truck. I was thinking more of a black and tan but at least in the taster it was more of just a blend. No complaints as I actually really enjoyed it. Quit Stalin bourbon barrel aged Russian imperial stout was really good. Are we allowed to praise ANYTHING with "Russian" in the name now or does that make me a Putin apologist? I'm not sure of the rules now but honestly I don't care. A Russian imperial stout is good regardless of some sh*€y dictator and ignorant people. But I digress... SWPFTD actually liked this one and she is generally not a big fan of bourbon barrel aged stouts. Last, well maybe not, is the triple berry bourbon barrel aged imperial stout. I'm not sure what Barrie's constitute the "triple berry" in this. Raspberry always seems like a staple and being Idaho you always think huckleberries. Honestly I couldn't identify the three but the flavors all worked really well. I did a little taster of the Peaches & Cream and decided to go with a pint of that. It's definitely a little sweet but not overpoweringly so. Sweet but with really good peach aroma and flavor. There is no food at MEBC exactly but they did have a food truck outside, which was Big Meats BBQ. We may stop in again tomorrow so hopefully they will be open then. I am a big fan of MEBC's brews and will definitely stop back in. They have solid beers and the vibe is excellent. What a great location in downtown Boise! I was in town on vacation and was pleasantly surprised to see there is a Mother Earth here... I used to love to visit the Vista, CA location when it was open, but it closed right as I was in the process of moving out of state. This particular brewery has such a great vibe to it. The outside patio was lovely as was the inside. There's an amazing variety of beers on tap, I especially loved the Cali creamin on nitro and was happy to see it here. Our bar tender was friendly and helped pick out some great merchandise, all around a great experience, definitely worth a visit! read more

I'll admit it. Mother Earth is one of my favorite brewers out there. I've been eagerly awaiting the opening of the Boise tap house. After months of drinking cans of Hop Diggity instead of getting it fresh from the tap, the holiday season has provided the gift of Mother Earth in Boise live, on tap. Judging from the crowds opening weekend, my husband and I haven't been the only folks waiting for the grand unveiling. We grabbed their seasonal Hazy IPA offering, Conditioned Reflex, and hustled back outside. Cold outside for sure, but hordes of unmasked strangers aren't our thing in pandemic times. If you're rocking a booster and feeling feisty, the seating inside is basic, open, and typical for what you might find in a tap house. Nothing too comfy but built for business. Drinking business. Staff was friendly and attentive despite the chaos of opening weekend. There's a gas fire pit and heaters to keep you warm while your beer stays cold outside. I assume tables will grace the patio when the weather warms. Six pack prices are comparable to what you find at the grocery store. There was a food truck on site. Our beer was perfectly poured and happily consumed. If you like any of Mother Earth's offerings, this tap house needs to go on your list of places to visit. read more

I was really disappointed that I didn't like this place as much as I thought I would. Mother Earth has always been one of my husband's favorite beers. When we lived in California (i know, I know) he would always order this, so we were super stoked to find out that this was an Idaho based brewery. We went here Friday (02/24) around 4 PM and were shocked by how packed it was. The smell of old fraternity sweat and dog urine immediately overwhelmed the place the moment we walked in. We got our beer/cider and stood at the edge of a table until a few other seats cleared up. They had live music start at 6 PM, but it was so loud in there that it didn't seem a single person in there seemed to notice that anything was even happening. They would be better off just keeping the music over the speakers on in the background. While we were there, my husband had the regular Cali Creamin' and tried the Orange Creamsicle for the first time. I got the black currant cider. Both were relatively good, but didn't blow us out of the water. The simple smell and how overcrowded this place was are the primary reasons why I will not come back. I'm hoping that the Nampa location is a little less crowded. read more

Cali Creamin' on nitro!!! My fav! I've stayed down the road three times and had no clue this brewery was so close to my hotel. So excited to find it! Big open area with seating, it was snowing a lot, but could tell there was some awesome outside space when it's warmer. Bartender was very sweet and welcoming. Kids and dogs are welcome! Tried out the new tap house. There appears to be decent space for outdoor seating when the weather is better. Came in on a Saturday night around 7:30 and it was pretty packed. Line for beers moved quickly though. There was live music which I thought was great! Everyone seemed to enjoy their beers. We just stayed for one round as it's hard to get seating and hear anyone in your party talk because it's so loud/echo through the building. read more

I have been to this location multiple times to sit and do my homework, chat with friends, or just grab a drink. Never once have I ever been told I cannot be there if I do not order something, until today. I was sitting at one of the tables inside doing my homework when the older lady came up to me asking what I wanted to drink. After I told her politely that I was just doing my homework and didn't need anything she told me that "they don't let people sit and use their free wifi if they don't order anything because they are a place of business". I explained to the older lady that I wasn't even using their wifi, I was using my own hotspot and I've never been told this before as I have came here multiple times to do this same thing, I live right down the street and it's nice to get out of the house to work. I then told her I could just go outside and work when she told me that it doesn't matter because it's still on their property. read more

We stopped in while waiting for dinner nearby, and it was an interesting visit. It's 80/20 outdoors. So on a breezy day, you're going to want to make sure to have a jacket. We went in and ordered from a limited menu. I think if we would've have questions on the notes, our particular cashier would've been less than enthusiastic on sharing that with us so that's a bummer. We ended up ordering 1 round of drinks, went outside and just tried to enjoy the ambience. My hazy ipa was heavy, but it was expected and still tasted good. 2 beers for like $14 including a tip wasn't too bad. read more

I started going to the Thibido-Vista brewery way back when it opened and they just had wine barrels for bar stools(no cushions) and it's fun to see their success here in Boise. She then seemed annoyed I was paying cash instead of card, she literally threw my change down and as i'm trying to pick it up, puts the drink down aggressively and starts talking to the next customer as i'm scrambling. Really like the beer. Great patio downtown. Stopped by yesterday after Mother's Day lunch. Wife went and sat at one of the last open tables while I got the beers. When I got to the table, I saw that the chairs were chained to the table. So I went and asked one of the staff members if she could unlock them. I was told no. There was rain in the forecast, so they were staying locked up. Then she went on to tell me that two or three tables had been unlocked and that if one of those tables opened up, we were welcome to sit there. Patio full of folks, on Mother's Day, huddled into seating that can move more than a couple inches from the table. Would have had a second round, but wasn't interested in dealing with retardation. We visited Mother Earth Tap House last weekend for a couple beers. It is really nice and inviting place plus new is always good. We have been to the brewery in Nampa a number of times so nice to have them in Boise now as well. There beers are pretty tasty. They did have a live band and it was a bit too loud for the small space. That needs to be toned down for sure. Could even hear the bar tender sitting right at the bar. read more
