Today's coffee adventure brought me to Perks of Life Coffee. I was stuck at home for a bit waiting for the plumber to finish up. I had about 40 minutes to get there before 2. Thank goodness I was able to make it in 30 minutes before closing. The venue is very nice. You walk in and you instantly see all the pretty light fixtures and decor. On top of all that, you also see all the yummy looking baked goods on display. I'm sure the cases were full of goods this morning so by the time I got there it was slim pickings. Mind you, even the slim pickings looked delicious! I was greeted by the barista after she finished helping another guest. She was very nice. She grabbed my order, took my name and got my drink started. I got my usual drink, an iced americano with sugar free vanilla and room for cream. While my drink a being made, I made my way through all their merch. It was fun looking at all the mugs, variety of stickers, wall art and to what looked like wrapped book gift bundles with all sorts of goodies packaged in with it. The barista called out a name but I stood there kinda confused. The gal before me got her drink so I was the only one left who needed a drink. She looked at me giving me the hint it was mine. I repeated my name which was not the name she called out. I found it humorous that she couldn't read her own handwriting. I made sure again it was mine and made my way to the nicely stocked condiment bar. Topped my drink off with some half and half and made my way to a table. I like my coffee a hair sweeter so I add a little blue packet of sugar from my bag. It usually gives it just that little extra kick. Well, I didn't need it today. I wasn't expecting how sweet it was. I almost questioned whether or not it was sugar free syrup that was used. I also did ask for room so I can add some cream but unfortunately I had to dump out some coffee to make room. That little bit of extra water does dilute the espresso. It sucks having to dump product out that you paid for when it could have been properly made if the barista had paid attention. I did hang out for a bit and enjoyed my drink after it was modified. The venue is really chill. I appreciate all the fun merch, the creative wall art and baked goods. I can see myself coming back for a girls coffee meet up or for some alone time out on their outside seating area. Hopefully next time my drink will be on point and I'll be able to enjoy my drink that much more while trying out one of their baked treats.

Having just moved to the area, I have been looking for a specific kind of coffee shop and this is the place! When I see Cortado on the menu then I know they are a craft coffee shop. Plus the gluten free pastries along with their delicious looking breakfast menu, I have now found my go to coffee shop. The interior is very relaxing and a great place to have meet ups. They have a quiet room next door with a lot more sitting area. They sell cute gifts: coffee beans, stickers, books etc.

My husband and I have been to this place twice and liked it both times. Their coffee is good and not too sweet. We've tried mocha, Mexican mocha, toasted praline and coconut latte (winter flavor), and gingerbread latte (winter flavor). The first three were really good, but the gingerbread one didn't really taste like gingerbread. As for the food, we've gotten the breakfast sausage burrito and quiche lorraine. Both were solid. The crust on the quiche is delicious but the bottom is a little soggy while the edges are sometimes way too crispy. It might help to maybe parbake the crust first for a bit before baking it with the quiche filling. That's me being nitpicky though -- the flavors are spot on. For the scones, we've tried both the raspberry lemon and strawberries and cream. The scone texture is great -- a bit crispy on the outside but tender on the inside. The raspberry lemon is better than the strawberries and cream one though. The latter needed more strawberries -- it was just sweet and didn't have a lot of flavor. Overall, this is a solid coffee place with solid quick breakfast options.

    Best GF pastries!

Some of the best gluten free pastries I've tried! I wish I would have tried more. The coffee was also amazing!

The cutest coffee shop! I ordered a seasonal drink...Butter beer latte. The mystery books selection has me hooked. Definitely recommend.

What a nice surprise! I recently visited The Perks of Life based on a recommendation. This is not your average coffee shop. The coffee is smooth, balanced and served at the perfect temperature. I tentatively tried their cardamom and cinnamon espresso drink. I absolutely loved it! I have to say it totally exceeded my expectations. The flavors were nuanced, not overpowering and not overly sweet. They offer cookies, pastries and a breakfast menu too. I visited at noon and the place was relatively busy. The coffee house is unassuming with a nice little patio. If you like great coffee this place is worth visiting!!!

That said, Form & Function really does bring something fresh to Eagle. The vibe is modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed without feeling cold. I also think they have the biggest alt milk selection of any local coffee shop I've been to, and I've tried basically all of them around here. Their seasonal drinks are consistently good too. One underrated thing? They're one of the only coffee shops in Eagle actually open on Sundays and open later into the afternoon. That's surprisingly rare around here. (Yes, Eagle Coffee & Bakery is open too, but their coffee always tastes burnt to me.) This place clearly thought about how people actually use coffee shops. Tons of seating options, lots of outlets, side tables that work well for laptops, a big upstairs group table, plus a little play kitchen and games for kiddos. The downstairs can get a little loud because of the high ceilings, but it's still way calmer than most busy cafés. Everything is super clean, including the bathrooms, which honestly matters more when you have kids. One of my favorite little routines now is grabbing a coffee here and taking my daughter over to Stephen Guerber Park afterward.

I have had the pleasure of checking out their downtown locations, especially their location at the Sparrow. It's such a great vibe down there! After finding out that this location is right down the road from me, you know I had to make my way in. I came in later in the morning so it was pretty chill. The venue is bright and simple. I love the simplicity of everything. The walls aren't over decorated. The tables and chairs and nicely spaced, the big windows give such great bright lightening and there's wonderful outdoor seating available too. I initially was on the wrong end of the counter. I finally realized and made my way to the register. I wasn't greeted by a barista. She wasn't the friendliest but she wasn't rude, she was there. She got my order squared away and I just hung out till it was ready. While waiting, I did notice all the goodies they had available. The baked goods looked fresh and yummy. I do believe they have a chia seed pudding in the little refrigerated case, it looked good. I'll have to grab some chia seed pudding the next time I'm in! I got myself something different from my normal americano. Today's drink was an iced matcha with almond milk. I did ask for some sugar free syrup. The few couple drinks I have gotten from the two other locations were Chai so it's good to know about not having sugar free syrups as an option. The barista did offer me honey or maple syrup as an alternative. I took up on her suggestion for the honey. My drink looked fabulous. It was rich in color. I really like the ice they serve here, it's great ice to chew on. I do like my coffee/tea to be slightly sweeter so I did end up adding a couple packets of blue sugar to my drink. I did a good few sips before I added the extra sweetner. It was hearty in matcha and you can taste the creaminess of the almond milk. The honey was there but the added sweetener did help enhance the honey. I enjoyed the nice weather today and had my drink outside. They have quite a few options for outdoor seating. Picnic tables, a few andorak chairs and a pint size picnic table for kids were available. I appreciate the big umbrellas at the picnic tables. It gave nice shade. In the space between the coffee shop and the boutique next door is where a lot of the seating is. It's quite charming and relaxing. I adore the strung up lights. I couldn't really enjoy them today since it was so bright out but I can imagine it being a great way to end day in a fall day. A hot cup of coffee, sitting in a huge andorak chair under the lights. It's great to know this local coffee joint is right down the road from me. I have always gotten great drinks from the other Form and Functions so it's nice to have this location as an option. My drink was good and it was nice being able to enjoy it under a huge umbrella today. I do wish the staff was a little friendlier. I came later in the day so my mood is already set. I couldn't imagine having the people working today start my day. I wouldn't be in the best mood. Hopefully the customer service will be a pleasant as my drink the next time around.

I remember they have baked goodies that my husband would be interested in. He's doesn't like all the frilly stuff, just the good ol classics and Eagle Coffee has plenty of that! We came in around 12:30. It was pretty chill. A few guests outside enjoying the September weather and a couple guests inside. We checked out the food cases and found what we wanted. In my last review I had the keto quiche. It was a little overwhelming for me. The Mediterranean quiche was suggested so of course I had to try it. And it looked good in the food case. We were instantly greeted by a bunch a happy faces. I ordered the ham and cheese croissant for my husband. My Mediterranean quiche was ordered. I snagged a small iced cinnamon honey dirty chai with almond milk and a huckleberry lemonade for the husband. I believe everything we got is going to be so good! The ham and cheese croissant looked mighty tasty! It was nicely heated. You can tell it was nice and hot cause the ham and cheese was starting to slide out of the croissant. Husband smashed the whole thing and I wasn't even offered a bite. My quiche had beautiful pieces of zucchini and cheese on top. I really enjoyed the sun dried tomatoes in it. The filling was fluffy and soft. It was a great suggestion from the manager! I might have them heat it up just a hair longer next time, it could have been warmer. The huckleberry lemonade was killer!! It was tart, sweet and bubbly. I was only allowed one sip and I made sure it was big! My first round of chai did not look like normal and it didn't taste good. It was so dark and bitter. I did ask the barista if there was chai in my drink cause it didn't taste like chai. After we got it figured out, a new drink was made. My first one was not what I had ordered, I don't know what it was. My second round was almost perfect. The honey cinnamon chai was so good! It was sweet and spicy. I love the added cinnamon in there. It tastes like it should be cold and holiday season outside. I did pay for a shot of espresso to make it dirty which I never got. It was almost a cup of perfection. I really enjoyed our little coffee date here today. The food was good. Our drinks were tasty. The staff was nice. And it's conveniently down the road from us. I'm happy we stopped in today for our Sunday goodies. I look forward to another round of food and drinks from this joint.

Check their insta and FB accounts for info. If you haven't discovered them yet, you're missing out! WHAT'S NEW: The Herreras retained the name and have kept many of the items beloved by customers of the original bakery but they have also expanded options, as one might expect from a pastry chef with 30'ish years experience. They have added additional cases to the interior and also expanded options for custom orders. All good for eats! PLAN TO BUY AND GO: Too small a space inside for seating and only enough outside for maybe a couple of seats, so this is a buy and take away format. ACCESSIBILITY: That I have posted 22 photos of this bakery since it opened in 2021 to now, it is evident that I am a fan of the offerings and also an avid supporter of mom-n-pop local businesses. But I am also a customer with disabilities and given the ADA will turn 36 years old this month, it is also an appropriate time to say why they seldom get my business anymore. It is all about the location's small parking lot with angled spaces and only one ADA compliant spot at the far end, near a hair salon, with often someone parking (illegally) in the striped access aisle. The only way for a wheelchair user to get up on to the walkway to get into the doors of the shops is through that access aisle and when it is blocked, so am I. For that reason, this good business has largely lost my business. Alas. CHECK HOURS BEFORE GOING: Usually open Thu - Sat from about 9A to 2P but sometimes closed if catering an out of town event so check before you go is a good idea.

I genuinely have no idea how they produce so many baked goods out of such a tiny space. There's really no place to sit, so I think of this more as a pick-up-and-go Italian bakery rather than a café. They also do homemade cannolis (the pistachio and chocolate are both good), although my husband still gives the edge to Tony Cannoli's at Caffè Sorrento. I heard I completely missed out on their focaccia the day I went, which apparently is a mistake I need to correct immediately. I did try the croissants though, and honestly it's hard to find a truly good croissant around here without driving all the way to Janjou Pâtisserie -- and that place absolutely ruins you for croissants forever. One other thing worth noting: check their hours before you go because they're only open Thursday-Saturday. It's also a great little spot to grab packaged cookies or treats for gifts.
