We love going to Caffeina. It is so much nicer than going to Starbucks or one of the chains. I think it is locally owned with several locations. We have had great lunches like chicken, Panini's and turkey and breeze sandwich sandwiches. One of their locations is called Jovino in eagle and they also serve wine! If I could give 5 stars on service alone, I would. Every time I've come here, the vibe is relaxed, comfy and cool. Everyone that works here is friendly, eager to answer questions, keeps the place clean and expedites orders. The prices are relatively affordable compared to several other boutique coffee shops in the area. The iced mocha on my first visit was okay...not enough mocha flavor, and the coffee tasted a little bitter. Not the best impression. My second visit was much better, that Mexican mocha was perfectly balanced in flavor. However, the sausage breakfast burrito was a tad underwhelming in flavor. The perfectly cooked burrito was packed with onions, green peppers, cheese, eggs and sausage. Though the mild salsa and sour cream were a nice compliment, the burrito was actually pretty bland. We planned on walking the Boise greenbelt today and grabbing some coffee nearby right after so we decided to go with this place since it was in close proximity. Wasn't sure what to expect since it was our first time. I wasn't expecting it to be that large on the inside. The coffee shop also had a very relaxed and chill vibe. Interior decorations were also great. Staff was super fast with our orders. I ordered their breakfast burrito with bacon and their latte while wifey got their breakfast bagel and a matcha latte with soy milk. The food and the coffee was phenomenal! Just moved here to Boise and I'm in a hunt for amazing brunch / coffee places.. not only for the aesthetics but most importantly, the taste & quality of their food & service. Hubby and I came across this place and thought we should try it, and we did it. NO RAGRETS. The food is amazingly fresh and delicious. It was just a bummer that they didn't have avocados at the time of our visit. But the breakfast sandwich & breakfast burrito was superb! Matcha latte with soy milk & honey was also delivious. My husband got a regular latte and that was also good! The workers are nice & friendly. Very casual place. I recently enjoyed a morning date at Caffeina. It was a beautiful Sunday morning and we were hoping for coffee, breakfast, a time to leisure and play a little cribbage. Caffeina was great for such an occasion. Initially, when we entered, it was crowded and I didn't think we'd be able to get a seat but while we were ordering a few tables became available--they're a popular spot! I ordered one of the specialty, seasonal lattes (the honey bee latte) as well as their vegetable quiche. The quiche was outstanding, Seriously, ample and delicious. The service was friendly and the space is lovely and was perfect for lingering over coffee and cribbage. The coffee itself wasn't my favorite--not quite strong enough for my taste and the honey latte was overly sweet. Aside from that hiccup, I'd definitely come back for some bites! read more

This coffee joint is right down the road from my house. I have had coffee here a couple times with some friends. Today I stopped in to grab a breakfast burrito. One thing about this place is that it's always poppin! It was great seeing all these people out and about on this rainy Saturday morning. I ordered the supreme breakfast burrito. It is loaded with eggs, sausage and jalapeno bacon. It's a good sized burrito. It was loaded with all the goodies. I also grabbed salsa and sour cream. It was so good! I did have to add a little salt to the burrito. It lack flavor but the salt did is magic. I was only able to finish half. I plan on sharing next time. I love the vibe of this joint. There's comfy couches, chairs and plenty of tables to do work or chill. Plenty of plants ask over. The lighting isn't bright which creates such a chill vibe. I just moved here from MN and one of the first things I have been doing is looking for a good local coffee shop to hang out and work from! This is definitely the spot, right up my alley, my gig! Good music playing, great service, good coffee and lots of space to sit! It has a great energy to it for a coffee shop...and there was a big cute dog wandering around! I have only been here once but many more visits will follow. I did not get anything to eat but it looked like they had some very tasty treats! I have spent my first week here waiting for furniture to be delivered and having breakfast sandwiches every morning! I have tried a bunch of coffee spots and today when I came in I had already had breakfast, there will be other reviews to follow. I will give this a try for food next week, can't wait! The downside that they could fix is really uncomfortable seating at a big huge large wooden table near the front door. Ordered the 2 yogurt parfaits, scone and bacon burrito with a coffee. Food was good, burrito was tasty. Parfaits were $9 ish and you got an adequate amount of food and it was good. I had the Costa Rica drip coffee. It was smooth and had good end notes to it. Not great but definitely better than your quick coffee stops. Service is pretty bad. I sat down and waited for my coffee which never came. I saw some coffee dispensers on the side, then I realized I was suppose to be given a cup. Minus one star. Went up to ask for the cup. When my food order was called, I confirmed it was ours and I politely said we order 2 parfaits. Confusingly they said yeah we are making the other one. Why did they call the order when it wasn't ready. That was fine. The burrito came with no salsa so I asked if there was some and if so may I get it. The girl working the food with the left arm tattoo was super rude. No acknowledgement, grabbed a container put some in there and handed to me with no acknowledgement acting like she was annoyed. Put the salsa on there in the first place and I wouldn't have to ask for it if it's that annoying. It was super rude. - 2 stars. This was on Saturday 8/3 at 11:15 am. We placed our order and went to find seating. I had the vegan burrito and my daughter had the quiche. We also ordered a 20 ounce matcha with oat milk. We were told the matcha was unsweetened so I added sugar for taste. The matcha tasted a little off with the flavor. It tasted a little bitter. My daughter said the quiche was delicious! She almost managed to finish it off. The size is really generous. My vegan burrito was was big. After half of it, I wasn't hungry. It felt a little dry and the salsa didn't help. The quiche was definitely popular as I saw many patrons eating it. There's different seating options such as table and chairs, couch,es, bar seating, and more. Caffeina has quickly become one of my favorite coffee shops to work out of. Pretty standard good free Wifi which is super important. It's right off of State St. and has a great parking lot that they also share with a laundry mat, public library, and antique store. The free parking is a big thing for me and I love looking through the antique store after getting some work done. There's great (covered) outdoor seating and tons of beautiful plants everywhere. I love the vibey atmosphere that all the plants and decor give off. They have various types of seating - your standard 4 top tables, longer tables that accommodate 6+ people and couches if you want to get super comfy. I usually either get a flavored iced latte, cold brew, or iced Americano. The prices are on par with most other hip coffee shops like this. They also serve beer and food! The quiche here is huge! I got the bacon quiche with a side of sour cream and salsa for 50cents. There's always tons of students studying and other folks working out of here. If you're looking for a unique take on the classic cozy coffeeshop this is the place! I'm part of a fitness group that meets at different coffee shops and caffeina is part of our rotation. I love that this is is a larger cafe that still feels cozy. I noticed all of the plants and comfortable seating right away, accented by warm lighting. The counter is right at the front and i found the menu board easy to understand and prices to be fair. In addition to drinks they do pastries, quiches, and breakfast burritos. Everything is well prepared and their hot chocolate is AMAZING! If you're not a coffee fan, like me, or have kids you want to treat it is well worth it. This was destination coffee stop based on reviews. Liked it fine to have tried it once but it wouldn't be destination again for me. The brewed coffee was good enough, it just wasn't what I prefer - on the day of my visit they had only two medium roast options available. There were no "just-a-little-something" food options available to go with the brew but a couple of donuts and what looked like a few shrink wrapped scones. Also, the majority of table seating is high perch and those bar height seats don't work for me. Also because, Oy Vey, the booming music selections really didn't work for me...Kurt Cobain, anyone? How about Anthony Kiedis? (Sure, you do too remember the Red Hot Chili Peppers.) In addition, I've always found the strip mall in which this is located sort of, well, seedy and so poorly laid out as in the developer just threw it up and got away with it. But it is funky-industrial pleasing design inside with cool light fixtures and a sofa and chairs and also has an outdoor patio too. Sparkling clean. Those are all good things. I can see why it works for some folks even if not for me. Different strokes. There were people camped out with laptops and documents spread across the tables - it does seem coffee places are study halls and portable offices in the main these days, doesn't it? PARKING: There is a laundromat at the opposite end of this same building and on the day of our visit although about 40% full of people in Caffeina the lot was full and it appeared largely laundromat customers. ACCESSIBILITY: Is a problem at this relatively newly renovated 'strip mall' site. But there is one ADA spot near the laundromat. Disappointed. I had a mishap at this shop where I asked for a sausage bowl and they gave me a burrito.... This happened twice within the same visit. I couldn't wait for the bowl because it was about a 20 minute process so I reached out to the owner for a refund. I never heard anything back. Mistakes happen and I was very kind in reaching out. Leaving empty handed and having no reconciliation doesn't feel good, I think it ruined this spot for me and I don't think I'll be back. read more

Wow! So happy that there is a coffee shop in my neighborhood open late. It's nice to have a decaf cappuccino after diner at a place open until 9pm. The space is huge. Lots of warm wood and inviting spots to hang out. Very cool to see all the roasting and brewing equipment in the back. The decaf espresso tastes great. Not too harsh. Could be the water process they use. Looking forward to coming back and trying the other beverage options: beer, wine, and kombucha. We had a delicious chocolate chip cookie from Gaston's bakery. There is a case with other breakfast type items. Maybe there will be more food as they get rolling.
