They neglect Thier patients for them to go smoke. I was not fired I was forced to leave in the middle of my shift due to the actions of the head nurse. I was not staying there for one more min for my own mental health. I was put on a shift I wasn't trained for in Thier facility. They left me on multiple occasions all trough every shift so they could all go smoke together. We are talking wash, bus, serve and be a caregiver with at least 30 patients to care for. The RN in charge had me go into a large room with everyone that was on the floor 4 people, to worked that day seeing I was visibly upset to tell all of them why I was upset. It was probably the most unprofessional thing I've seen in my medical career. I saw her neglect a request for a patient to go to the hospital knowing he was in pain all morning. This patient was beating on a wall and calling nonstop due to pain. Screaming help. Do not work for them. And I suggest you look else where for your loved one.

The staff is nice enough, but they are too money oriented. They aren't well equpped for giving good physical therapy. There therapy gym doesn't have the adequate equipment to give the adequate or proper exercises to their patients. The OT therapist, is a joke. She's very under trained and her therapy skills are very poor. If the patient doesn't do what she orders them to do, she threatens to report the patient to their insurance company, so that the insurance company stops paying for the continued stay there. I really don't see how GS still allows her to work there.

There are a few good CNA's and nurses but the bad ones are reflecting on the entire place. I found it much easier to bring my mother home and monitor her meds myself coupled with in home therapy and skilled nursing. Keeping track of if this place was doing their job was entirely too stressful. I know not everyone has that option and my heart goes out to them. After my mother was released forget about getting a call back from an employee, I had to go to the Administrator to get a call back. I left 5 voicemails for the social worker Gabby over 3 days and have yet to receive a call back. These are not the kind of people I want taking care of my loved ones.

The one they had left had no footrests, so my 89 yr old dad had to keep his feet elevated during the tour. I spoke with the director of Highgate, who told me it was both a liability (seriously?) and a hindrance to their assessment, which also sounds like bs. So, if this is how they care for their seniors when someone is watch, how good will the care be when nobody is watching, and what other goofy rules will they have? My friend speaks fondly of the caregivers and others who frequently visit. In my opinion, Granite View provides a variety of social interactions which include entertainment, visits by comfort animals, church clergy, medical professionals, and others. The workers always greet me with a smile and treat me with respect. I am confident my friend receives some of the best care possible in the Quad city area. I highly recommend Granite View to people who need full time professional care for their loved ones.

It smells horrible. We have brought her teas and drink so she can have when requested and nothing. They ignore her. They ignore her so much that she fell the other day and now has a bruise on her side of her face. Ive tried to talk to the owner and she won't reply back.
