The people that work there are always so friendly! The pupusas Revueltas were so good that I went back that same day to pick up more for dinner. They're authentic Salvadorean pupusas. Ordered for takeout. Got the mixed pupusas for both the rice flour and corn flour. Rice flour definitely has more chew to it. Corn flour has more taste. Both are good in their own ways. Not greasy at all either. My only complaint is that their slaw isn't sour enough and their salsa is very runny and not spicy at all. Also tried the pork with fried yucca. Yucca was a bit overfried but very crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. Loved the pork a lot. Super tender and has a nice crisp from the frying. The pupusas here are really good. I find myself coming here often and the service is nice. The ambience is good too with music playing when I was there. There were a bunch of people from the city coming in to get some food and we will all be able to get food pretty quickly. read more

Hidden Paradise came up and we took a 15 minute drive over hoping this place would hit the spot...and it absolutely did! The pupusas were handmade and made to order.The prep time was about 10 minutes. We ordered a couple of the 2 pupusa 1 drink combos for $12. I personally ordered 1 cheese and 1 revuelta, they were both good but the cheese was excellent, my bf loved the asada one. All of them were tasty, as was their curtido and sauces. They weren't greasy and tasted homemade. The inside of the restaurant is small, just a couple tables but it is air conditioned and has one customer restroom. Hidden Paradise is literally the only restaurant operating in the second floor right behind the metrolink station. Plenty of parking too. Upon entering the restaurant, there was a strong smell of wet carpet and every time someone would go to the restroom there would be another strong odor permeating through (the tables are right next to it) so I wouldn't eat inside due to that. I got two of their pupusas (chicken and revueltas), they took around 30 mins to come out but they did give me a heads up so I didn't mind. The problem was that there was no chicken whatsoever in the chicken pupusa? There was only cheese inside. Not sure Hidden Paradise is still a hidden gem after 5+ years. Judging by the line of people waiting in line, it is fairly well-known to people working around downtown San Bernardino these days. I am glad they made it through COVID but was a little surprised that they are not open for indoor seating yet. In fact, there is only enough room for one party to be inside to place orders then wait outside until the order is ready. Since there is no table nor bench outside either, our options are limited to eat in our car or take it back to the office/home. It is my co-worker's first time trying pupusas, I suspect it will not be his last time. I ordered a chicharrone (pork) and a camarone (shrimp) myself. They are served hot off the grill, stuffed with fillings. They were made to order so be ready to wait 25 minutes or so. Next time I think we will call ahead to place our orders. read more

Our go-to place for pupusas in the San Bernadino area. We usually get the six pupusa special (a great deal!). We like to call in our order ahead of time and pick up the food, but as long as it's not hot outside, it's not too bad to wait outside either (the interior is fairly cramped due to lack of space). We've also ordered just salsa and curtido before, after getting frozen pupusas from a grocery stores--they were good too. We are vegetarian, so we usually get the cheese and jalapeño, bean and cheese, zucchini and cheese, garlic and cheese, and vegetable and cheese pupusas. All delicious. Great customer service--sweet little ladies who are patient when I order using my limited Spanish (I typically order in English but I get brave sometimes). read more

Our first time trying pupusas. We enjoyed them! It's interesting how the photos look so boring and they all look the same, but in reality the taste is so dependent on the filling you get! They said the bean & cheese was their most popular, but we found that one a bit bland. We really enjoyed the chicken, shrimp, and zucchini pupusas! Each comes with salsa and a cabbage thing to put on top, but we liked them a lot better without that stuff. We also got the plantains, which were sweet and yummy. Tamales - The chicken one was SO good! It tasted more moist and was bigger than other tamales from stands/markets that we've had before. Really good! We also ordered a corn one, and apparently that just means it's ALL just the tamale corn meal. : / Definitely would not order that again. The biggest downside was how long it took to get our food! It didn't seem very busy, but it took 20-30 minutes for our food to be ready! Plus, the lady did not call our number very loudly - so we missed it, which made it take even longer. read more

horrible experience!!! we usually order from this place and have it delivered. I never really encountered any problem. Food is good, and we overlook them being stingy with the sauce & curtido , the kitchen not very organized or looking pleasing to the eye, but like I said the food is good and I belive the restaurant has an A grade on the window .when i called i ordered 8 pupusas i asked for spicy sauce she said I would only get one and 2 regular and 3 small bags of curtido by small I mean the smallest zip log bags , which I said was fine I'd make it work she did not offer to sell me more or nothing. the last time we actually went to the restaurant was during the pandemic. they did not offer dine in options, and anyhow, the place is kinda a hole in the wall. I never really thought the offered dine in . Today however we were out and about and decided to call and do an order to go when we got there we noticed they had tables and decided to eat there we were taking a seat grabbing a high chair for my daughter she kept staring like we were doing something wrong i had ask if we can get some plates and the cashiers rolled her eyes and rudely said that we ordered to go but fine. it literally killed the mood, ended up getting up and leaving didnt want to inconvenience her or be getting looks or being told off as we were eating this ended up ruining our meal. I've never tried pupusas before. I've always heard people rave and rave about how good they are. I'd have to say they are not my favorite. I enjoyed the fact that they cook everything fresh. Be prepared to wait a little since the food is fresh. It takes about 25 mins or so depending on what you ordered. I really wanted to try their empanada with cream however they didn't have any. They needed to wait for the plantains to ripen I guess, so they said to try to come back in about 3 days. Their plantains were good but they're good mostly everywhere. The shop is small- no where to dine in but you can sit at the tables outside. It's kind of hidden- by the train station there isn't much around. It's one of those hidden "gems" ONLY for people who love this type of food. I gave it 3 stars because they were friendly, the food was fresh, and although I don't have other pupusa experiences to compare this to I'm going to say their cortido was lacking. I brought someone with me who has had this type of food before and he also said the same. I don't think I will go out of my way to come back but hey- if you like this stuff this might be your place. read more
