I was skeptical about staying here because of all the reviews, but I noticed that they were over five years ago and a couple of the most recent reviews were better. I was pleasantly surprised when I called to update my reservation at how nice the woman was who took my call AND even more so when we pulled up to this property. The new owner, Shane, was amazing. Please, disregard those prior comments from 5yrs ago and give this place a shot. He has worked hard to turn this place around! It was perfect for an overnight stay. Shane was accommodating to our request for a pull through, the property was clean everything worked and easily accessible. This RV park is being advertised on its website as a mountain resort with retreat quality amenities - what a joke! In reality it's a rundown dump where basic utilities barely work and regular maintenance isn't performed. Rates are not as advertised, with additional fees and taxes tacked on without warning, reservations are not honored, and no refunds are allowed whether you stay or not and no matter how dissatisfied you are with the services. The bathrooms aren't kept clean and smell of backed up sewage, with missing shower/window curtains and filthy stalls that do not lock. The laundry room is full of dirty & broken machines, many that are not marked so you don't know until you lose your money or clothes don't come out clean. The trashcans are full because they are not emptied, and the dog park is full of poop due to no baggie dispenser and people not picking up after their pets. It's trashcan is the worst of all, always overflowing with feces. The grass goes uncut with tall weeds and pokeys that stick in feet & clothes and get tracked into RVs. All of the roads are bare mud & full of potholes and ruts - they aren't plowed in the winter and steep hills become icy. Piles of rocks/dirt/debris are scattered everywhere along with lots of holes & ditches, making walking around the park dangerous. All the signs/fences are faded & falling down, and the grounds are scattered with trash blowing in the wind. The pool is green with algae and closed most of the time, frequently broken from lack of maintenance. The clubhouse is hot & bare, lacking any activities or equipment, and it appears to have homeless people living in it right now. The wifi advertised is nonexistent, and there is no cable or antenna channels that can be picked up. The basketball court is tiny & covered with dirt, picnic tables broken and placed near smelly septic tanks, only tetherball pole is missing it's ball, swing set isn't anchored and tips over, and short hiking trail that runs the length of the park has low hanging branches and big rocks. The sites are short, narrow, unlevel & close together, lack picnic tables, fire rings or BBQ grills. They have hookups on opposite sides that are shared with neighbors, and either lack shade or have dead tree branches overhead. The water pressure is low & leaks are frequent, electric boxes exhibit signs of fire & melting, and breakers blow under minimal load. The park has very few 50 amp sites available, and all the security lights are burnt out so it's pitch black at night. Most sites are full of live-ins in old rigs and cluttered yards w/dog kennels. Short term spaces are not cleaned after use and the only tent sites are very close together with no campfires allowed. Coyotes & snakes are frequent visitors so keep your pets in at night and watch your step! Cars speeding within the park is a problem even though there are unsightly speed limit signs every ten feet, and rules are not enforced so problem people are permitted to do whatever they want. The park has had 4 owners in as many years, each worse than the last, with the most recent being a corporation based out of Texas who doesn't have any local management to watch over the park and has failed to invest in any repairs or improvements thus far. The RV park has steadily declined due to owners being unwilling to pay for maintenance or hiring employees who are willing to do any work, even the most basic of tasks required. The most recent managers to be hired to live onsite are meth addicts who have drawn other drug users and criminals to the area, scaring residents because of the sudden influx of shady characters. They are erratic and incapable of performing any sort duties on a regular basis because they are too high to function. The couple act paranoid & are seen doing weird stuff at odd hours, randomly open the office & appear to be selling drugs out of it. The managers are allowing extremely smelly homeless folks to stay for free in sites & common spaces, seen bathing in sinks & digging through the garbage for scrap metals, making a mess everywhere they go. Prior to these people taking over crime and drug use within the park was low, but now I wouldn't leave your belongings outside and unattended. It's a shame that this RV park isn't being cared for and doesn't have better employees, because otherwise it would be a nice place due to its location in the East Mountains. It's surrounded by forest with nearby hiking trails, but near enough to Albuquerque to allow for visits to the city for shopping, dining & entertainment. Unfortunately I can't recommend that anyone stay here, especially not if you are looking for a vacation spot, because you are likely to be sorely disappointed and unable to get a refund. read more

Do not stay here if you value your rig. The pool looks like it hadn't been cleaned in 3 years, or they are trying to create a fishing pond. The sites are tight, and there are large pot holes going out of the park. It's advertised as a resort, but there are no amenities that would normally constitute a resort. It needs a lot of maintenance, that appear to have not taken place for a few years. I tried to talk to the office about the potholes, but the sole person behind the desk had headphones on and was playing on her phone. She either didn't hear me or selected to ignore me. Extremely tight Park. Spots are not level. The reservation process is screwed up as they messed up the days and site numbers twice. Not open in the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday when we had a problem. Place has potential but the way it is now don't bother staying here. read more

This RV Park is a definite NO for us. The sites are no more than cordwood parking slips, it's dirty/muddy. The RV's are old, dilapidated and resemble nothing more than a homeless encampment. The staff was less than helpful and short with customer service. The dog park was disgusting with filled poop bags literally piled in a heap in the middle of the park. Just walking in and immediately walking out, I was concerned my dog would pick up a parasite! The pool water was green and unkept. Our 1 night stay cost just under $60!! LaQuinta would have been more economical. After hooking up to leave, I used the campground restroom expecting a dump but was shockingly surprised! It was newly renovated, clean and the showers looked large with nicely done tile work and what appeared to be decent shower heads. The entrance to the RV park is a little shabby looking as the signage is worn and faded with no signs regarding the speedbumps. The woman at the front desk then told us upon check-in that there was a twenty-five dollar resort fee, which was unexpected since we are coast to coast members and this resort is within the coast to coast family. We paid the "resort" fee for a 2 week stay and was assigned a spot up and around a hill right next to another couple, which was ok, but considering the park was half empty (February) it would've been nice to get a little space. Anyway, it was dark and we were tired so we decided to just hook up and get some rest. That was a little easier said than done because the electric did not work, so we had to plug into a vacant site. The sewage was on the opposite side of the rig (37 ft 5th wheel), so we had to run it under the rig to connect. The next morning, my husband and I got up and wondered what exactly the resort fee covered. This resort had no wi-fi, no cable, the heated pool that was advertised was closed and extremely dirty, the basketball court was a concrete pad with a bent rim with a torn net attached to a wood pole, the "clubhouse" was dismal, worn and dirty, the water pressure was so bad that we ended up filling our tanks and unplugging from the connection when we needed to shower as this resort. The shower room and bathrooms were closed due to vandalism. A few days into our stay, it snowed approximately 3-4 inches, and the resort did nothing to the roads. My husband and I ventured out to Albuquerque in our 4x4, and when we returned, the roads were even worse. There were tire marks in the roads, which pressed the snow down and then froze. We almost got stuck and went off the side of the hill. We contacted the office but had no answer and no response the next day either. The dog owners also do not clean up after their dogs. One night, after returning from dinner, i actually stepped in feces....horrible! The next day, we noticed that most of the full-time folks believed the rules didn't apply to them as their pets were off leashes running around the park. At this point, we were ready to call it quits....but there are no refunds! We had already not planned for the $377 resort fee, so we didn't want to go somewhere else and have to pay again. However, we did end up leaving a few days early and paid to stay at another park, which was well worth it. I do plan on contacting Coast to Coast to question as to why this park is one in the Coast to Coast family. I would not recommend this park to anyone! read more

We stayed at this campground if you can call it that, it's more like a parking lot. I cannot in good conscience recommend this place. They charge $32 resort fees for a closed pool, no wifi, no cable and a small clubhouse. read more

Hello, my wife and I have been here several months now as we wait to separate the military and have found nothing but good things to say about management and staff. The current manager and staff have been nothing but helpful, kind, and more than accommodating. If we need something they're there to help us, and are never rude about it. We've not had any reason to worry since all long termers are required to file a background check. The only worry I have is the speed most people drive through the park, some, well over the posted 5mph. read more

We were a little skeptical choosing this RV campground after reading some of the other reviews... After being here for almost 2 months I'm wondering if those people were staying in the same campground that we're in. I have never seen anything suspicious, the owners do frequent safety drive-bys around the campground (which is a great idea), the people here including staff and residents have been nothing but kind. We had one electrical issue and the office had someone out to our RV and had it fixed in 30 mins. The only negatives that I can think of are that when it rains the sites get really muddy and the sites are a little on the small side. With that being said I know the owners are working on improvements and I am still able to put both of my slides out without being in the neighbor's space. Overall, it's a very nice and quiet campground out away from the city. If we ever pass back through we know where we'll stay. read more

We stayed here over night. Glad we didn't see the Yelp reviews before we booked haha. We chose this park because I t was a Passport America property. We didnt hook up to sewer but we did hook up to power and water. Everything was fine. Nothing scary or bad, felt safe. We were in after the office was closed and exit before they opened so I have no knowledge of the office staff other than when we called and they were friendly and helpful over the phone!! The only "negative" i would have to say is that the sewer, had we needed it, was on the opposite side of the RV than normal, and the spot was muddy so dealing with that would have been terrible if it had been needed, so we just decided to wait till our next stop to hook it up. We didn't try the WiFi (if there was any cause we got in so late). read more

Hidden Valley RV Park; Drugs, Threats and Danger I wish to alert you to a serious problem that is taking place at the Hidden Valley RV "Resort" in Tijeras, NM which I believe to be a drug-infested cradle of illegal activities. The act which prompted this review was when my family was forced out of the campsite by a series of threatening actions by the manager, Jeremy (last name unknown), and a number of his associates who support him. During our five night stay (we were supposed to have stayed ten days), my family and I were aware of a constant stream of vehicles going up and down the hill at all hours of the night past where our camper was parked. Having been at other campgrounds that hosted full time residents trying to make an honest living, we were not alerted beyond the surprise at the times during which these vehicles passed through. On Monday, there was a knock on the door from a (white) woman who claimed that her sister was with some black man, and she inquired if we knew where they were. Naturally, I dismissed her and sent her on her way. The next day I offered a free service to the assistant manager for the campground residents (I have a professional karaoke system, and I arrange parties as a hobby). Jeremy overheard me, and he became enraged that I was trying to "profit" off the campground, even though I specified that my service was gratis, while enjoying "drunk singing" (his words). He threatened to get his "lapel camera" to record what he thought would be my angry response, but I did not say another word and walked out of the office. The scene was witnessed by the assistant manager and another worker. Later, I had pulled over my truck near the clubhouse so that my wife could donate a book there. He spotted my truck, sped down the wrong way of a one way street, and again angrily accosted me. He threatened to call the police to have me removed. I continued out of the park and saw police officers at the bottom of the hill. I explained the situation to them. Jeremy came soon after, and he lodged a series of outrageous remarks about my behavior, none of which were true, in order to paint himself as the victim. At that point, I requested a refund for the remaining nights, and I left the campground about an hour later. During the time I was preparing for the move, Jeremy cruised by my camper five different times to stare me down, mouth profanity, look threatening, etc. On one occasion after he sped up the hill to go to the upper campground, he returned a few minutes later, and about ten seconds after that, he was followed by a car driven by a white woman with a black man in the passenger side. The car slowed down as both occupants stared me down. That's when the significance of the patterns of previous actions made sense to me. The woman looking for her "sister" was actually looking to purchase drugs from her and her "black boyfriend," and she didn't know where to find them. The cars going up and down at all hours of the night weren't working; they were there to purchase drugs. Jeremy wasn't angry at me as a person, per se; he viewed me as someone who could interfere with his harboring criminal activity for which I allege he is being paid and/or profiting from. Why do I know this? Because the officer with whom I talked verified that Jeremy was under investigation for his involvement in methamphetamines. The "sister and black boyfriend" followed Jeremy to intimidate me, as did other cars that followed Jeremy down the hill during subsequent trips, making sure to make it obvious that they were looking at my truck and camper in order to remember them, I allege. This is Hidden Valley RV Park. As a significant stakeholder in the community, you should know that Jeremy's behavior is impacting Tijeras on several levels. I urge you to get in touch with the owners of the RV Park to inform them of his activities. I caution you about the potential loss of revenue and the drain on your law enforcement agencies due to the alleged activities of Jeremy and his cohorts. I'm sure you would agree that an active drug ring begets violence and more criminal behavior. Most of all, you need to know how badly people like Jeremy tarnish the reputation of a community which on the surface is steeped in natural beauty. It was my intention to write to as many business people, government officials and law enforcement agencies as possible as stakeholders who are potentially damaged by Jeremy. Why have they not responded to me? Is the problem beyond the manager and beyond the campsite? Perhaps. Culpability begins with inaction after being informed of a serious problem. read more

First, when we arrived there right at sunset a lady came running to my car and knocked on my window and was insanely rude right off the bat. She finally said she was the wife of the man who runs the place. She never let me get a word in so i could explain anything. They were even rude at front office when i went in to register and pay. Second, extremely tight spaces. The spaces are really close together and in some you may not be able to put slides out. The place is all dirt so gets extremely muddy with any rain or snow. Very unprofessional business would not recommend this park to anyone. There are much better parks near by. read more

Employee at check in was very friendly. When we pulled into the site we were given the site was too small. We would have been able to use our slide out OR our steps but not both. Hubby called and we obtained another site. Sites are very close together with no privacy. Appears that part of the park is for long term campers. Plenty of traffic all day long. No picnic tables, grills or firepits at any of the sites. No cable. A laundry facility is available with 4 washers and 4 dryers. Two of the dryers were out of order. If you plan to do laundry, make note of office hours as the office is the only place to get quarters. If you are going to be doing laundry after dark, make sure you have a flashlight with you as the lighting coming out of the laundry room to the parking area is very poorly lit. read more

We have stayed thee different times at this park. Admittedly it is not a KOA but that is not what we wanted. I enjoyed the setting and have been pleasantly surprised by the helpfulness of the understaffed staff as I needed to make adjustments for vehicle repairs and family situations that arose. By the way. This is the worst campground we have stayed at on our cross country trip. We had site 1 which is the worse site in the park although none of them are very good. We booked through Coast to Coast thinking it would be a good place if associated with them. It was not. We arrived a little after 5 pm and no one was in the office. We found the form for late arrivals and proceeded to the site. It was very muddy with long term ruts which made it hard to set up. The site was very narrow and we couldn't let our awning out and had to listen to our neighbors loud voices in their RV. We spoke to Toni in the office the next morning and let her know we were unhappy with the site. She said we could have taken any other unoccupied site, but there was no way we would have known that the day before. There were no locks on the bathroom stalls and Toni said she would speak to the manager and have them fixed. Never happened. We asked her to have the manager contact us and that never happened either. When we called close to closing time and asked why we had not heard from him she sarcastically stated that he had been too busy. There is no cable and we could never get WiFi. She said they could not afford to have it. There was also no way to contact anyone after hours. If we ever get back this way we certainly won't stay here. read more
