After my review, Sean @ Five Alarm contacted me in an effort to work through the issues that I had with his company. Five Alarm Security isn't perfect, what I do appreciate about the company and Sean is their willingness to listen to issues that their customers are experiencing as well as their effort to resolve their deficiencies. The issues that I had in the past have been resolved and I feel it's the right thing to increase my review to 4 stars to show my appreciation. In one word: FLAKY!…read more From the first time we called Progressive Technology, the sales manager was very unreliable and took several days or even weeks to reply to emails and phone calls. The company I work for purchased a security system elsewhere and only needed a professional installation. The first time that Progressive was scheduled to come give us an installation estimate they never showed up - I had to call several times and the sales manager said that he got caught up with a problem with another client and didn't have time to call and cancel my appointment. The next time we re-scheduled an estimate, the sales manager showed up over 1 hour late, but didn't call to say he was running late - I had to call him to ask where he was. Progressive gave us a reasonable price quote so we finally scheduled a date for the install. On the day that they were supposed to install, we waited and waited.... Progressive NEVER SHOWED UP. Late in the afternoon, we received an email (not a phone call) saying that we need to fill out some authorization form and send a deposit of %50 in order for them to install. This was never mentioned previously. Over a month and a half later (and several phone calls and emails later), Progressive finally showed up to install our system, and then said that because they "rushed" our install job that full payment was due that day. We paid the 50% deposit and expected the balance would be due in 30 days (as is typical for any other company), but they said no, it is due in full immediately. It has been less than a week since the install and the finance dept has harassed me every single day about the balance due when I told them that our accountant only works 2 days a week and that we will pay the balance ASAP. I would not recommend this company unless you think getting the runaround is a fun and worthwhile way to spend your time and money.

Things come up ... no big deal ... just let me know. He did and I appreciate that. They guys were professional, knowledgeable, worked diligently and efficiently until the job was completed. They're great guys, very polite and cleaned up as soon as they finished the job. They left our home the way they entered it. They added ballast lights under the kitchen counter, can lighting in the great room, an extra light switch over our night stands and installed outlets in 2 closets. Ryan also fixed a can light that wasn't working in the kitchen. All that in 4 hours. Impressive I thought. We highly recommend Ryan. As far as the reviewer who passed one of his "work trucks" on the freeway ... that has nothing to do with this man's work ethics. My husband and I will vouch that his work ethics are above most. We don't know who was driving the truck anyway...his brother has a company with a similar name. Ryan does a lot of work in our neighborhood. I decided to pay him 25% additional plus a bonus for doing an excellent job. This was a very professional installation with excess cord between the cameras and solar panels hidden.
