The location is easily walkable from anywhere in Waikiki. The service was fantastic, everyone was inviting and attentive. Each course came out after we finished the one before at a pace that was relaxed and left time for you to enjoy the food. The care taken to craft each plate was evident and I showed in every delicious bite. This place was more than I expected. I would absolutely go back!

Tons a parking and Hi-de will validate. Validation was fully covered. Back here again! Tucked away behind a hidden door, this speakeasy sushi omakase was such a great find. For the price, you really get seasonal and fresh dishes curated with balance and creativity. There is so much care that goes into to the dish. One of my friends commented on the flavor of the nori on the o-toro roll. They were roasting it as the roll was being made. Chef has prepared his own sauces that is brushed on the fish that highlights the dish. It is such a great vibe here all the time. We meet new friends at the sushi bar with a common love for good food. The staff describes each dish as they are served telling the story of its origin. Chef will personally introduce and answer any questions that you may have. Go here! It's BYOB!

I booked reservations for the first seating and when we got there a few minutes late there was still no one. The restaurant does two seatings one around 5pm and one around 7pm. The earlier seating is only for the bar and they open up other seating at the later time to allow people to take time to enjoy their food. The food was really delicious and filling. We had to take a walk around Waikiki to allow our food to digest. We also enjoyed talking to the staff and the chef who were very personable and took time to explain what each dish was.

Everything was fresh and high quality. It's a topnotch Sushi Omakase restaurant on this island with excellent hospitality. Sushi chef Tsukasa san is cool and easy/fun to talk. This is the only Omakase place with a view (city view) and it's open air. You will have a great time at this speakeasy spot. The bonus is that you can enjoy Sky Waikiki for drinks before and take that drink to Hide Sushi. I highly recommend!

The omakase is tucked away on the rooftop of Waikiki, hidden behind a large door at the back of Sky Waikiki restaurant/club. We had a 7:30 pm seating, so it was already dark, but the city lights of Waikiki made for a nice backdrop. Seating was at a high-top counter for eight, while another group of ten men sat together loudly celebrating something throughout the evening. With four at the lounge and the rest at counters, there were about 22 guests total. The space is open-air, which can be hit or miss depending on the weather. On our night, it was muggy and rainy, so there wasn't much of a breeze. The omakase featured about 12 different pieces of fish, along with one appetizer course that set the tone nicely: egg noodles in cold dashi with yuzu and sardine flakes. Other starters included: * Edamame tofu with caviar and wasabi stems * Organic tomato marinated in shiso ponzu * Pumpkin & bean karaage * Poached scallop with okra and seaweed sauce Favorites of the night were the sawara (Spanish mackerel) with yuzu, Chinese cabbage pickle, and calamansi; the aji (horse mackerel) with green onion and ginger juice; and the Hokkaido uni. While the flavors were solid, they weren't mind-blowing. At one point, I joked to the chef that "it just tastes like fish," and he laughed, giving a thumbs-up and saying, "Yeah, it's supposed to be fish." Because of the number of guests, there was quite a bit of waiting between courses. The main chef handled all of the nigiri by hand, while two servers and a sous chef supported him. We were celebrating a birthday, and the host made sure it felt special with a personalized dessert plate and a lively birthday song. That extra attention definitely stood out. The whole experience lasted about 2.5 hours longer than expected but the city views on the way out made for a nice ending, and of course, we stopped for a few pictures.

I got a last second reservation for a table. It was still exciting. Great sake and the two female servers were so cute and authentic Japanese. The food was presented beautifully and tasted great. I ordered a couple of extras at the end also. Great experience.

I am not sure why after a month of their grant opening, there is no review for this restaurant on Yelp, it could be we are all searching for "Hide Sushi" but I can only find " Hide" on Yelp and it listed as an unclaimed business. I can not find " Hide Sushi" on Yelp. Hope I am leaving this review at the right place. I did found the address on Yelp matches the address of this restaurant on OpenTable. We have never been to the sky lounge in Waikiki, therefore this is our first experience to enter the area. We have to catch an elevator and then an escalator to go up to the sky lounge. We were there a little bit earlier than our reservation time so we walk around the lounge and enjoy the view. About five minutes before our reservation, somebody came to get us an escort us to the backside to enter a secret door. We were the first customer there and because of that, we got to chat with the chef quite a bit before dinner, they are very friendly people, even the waitress is super friendly. Right now they have only one sitting at 5 PM, from what I heard in May 2025 they will start to have two sittings. It is not BYOB as someone mentioned before, they printed the menu with the date on it, so you can clearly see what they are going to serve, according to the chef, they try to change to menu about every 3 weeks. The Omasake is $120 per person, very reasonable price in Hawaii standard. If we count every single items, it will be 18 items, one miso soup and dessert. The ingredient is fresh, the chef explain to us very detail about the food, what is so special about each item. After this serve each piece of sushi, they will use a paper towel to wipe clean your dish. Talk about attention to details. One of the best part is the dessert, you can ask for refill. We love the Matcha. You can also order more food if you enjoy certain items. Overall, we like our experience and the entire dinner lasted about 2 hours, they also fully your parking for three hours.

This place was amazing!!! The food, the service, the hospitality were all top notch! I love how it is hidden and not open all the time. Price was super reasonable for omakase too.

An amazing new omakase sushi spot in the heart of Waikiki! The sushi chef from Japan brings the best fish and ingredients to life. And everything is directly imported from Japan. The yuzu salt squid was a stand out, but I forgot to take a picture unfortunately. I guess that goes to show how amazing the food was. The service was also impeccable. The servers would take care in explaining each dish to us to maximize the experience. And they were on top of refilling drinks and providing all of our dining needs. I can't forget the superb location. Hide is located in Sky Waikiki, which gives you the best ocean view in all of Waikiki. And you can enjoy this view while devouring true Japanese sushi. 10/10 recommend this for any date night, celebration, or just a fancy dinner in general.

There are meals one enjoys. Meals one admires. Meals one respectfully documents, notes the flavor balance of, and later describes using words like "elegant" and "well-executed." And then there are meals that rock your world. This was one of them. Kaiten sushi, or conveyor belt sushi, is a casual, affordable Japanese dining style invented in 1958 where plates of sushi rotate on a motorized belt passing diners, allowing them to select dishes directly. Here at Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera, it's not the typical catwalk of pre-made maki rolls, nigiri, and other offering. You order off a kiosk and then it is fast-tracked to your table via sushi belt. Here at Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera, you are granted the ability to try their Edomae-style sushi for a more affordable price. Edomae-style sushi is a traditional Tokyo cuisine originating in the 1820s, featuring seafood, often cured, marinated, or simmered, served atop rice seasoned with red vinegar (akasu). It focuses on enhancing fish flavor through technique rather than just raw freshness, historically acting as fast food for 19th-century Edo residents. That said, dare I say the best meal I had during my stay on Oahu? I DARE! This was an excellent place suggested by Randy S. I really can't tell you all we had because Randy took charge but every bite? Certified bangers. Not one bad bite had. Pro-tip: If you want to feel like you are being mugged by Neptune, the God of the Sea, have the chawanmushi. Oceanic and delish!

I miss seeing the sushi chef in person. The sushi that I had was delicious and the preparations were unique (to me) the pieces were smallish, but so yummy. I would have ordered more but I was not very assertive and everyone wanted the iPad . Most of the nigiri orders were only one at the price point I am used to paying for two and I prefer the experience of sharing. My husband at the other table sampled more than I did. Deep fried Octopus and Toro, I had Yellow Tail and Carpacio, sample two rolls. Big surprise, the French fries were outstanding. The check worked out to about 50 pp. I think that was mostly my husband who enjoyed an array of dishes. As mentioned in other reviews, the bill stacks up quickly. I given them 4 stars for uniqueness, mostly.

Cold, clean, glistening with that dangerous little shimmer that tells you somebody in the supply chain actually cared. You can taste the quality immediately. The kind of quality that silences a table for half a second. And credit where it is due: almost everything I tried ranged from very good to genuinely great. But then the room begins speaking. And suddenly the spell breaks. The atmosphere feels like someone took a serious sushi counter, stripped away all sensuality, all elegance, all ritual, then dropped it inside a fluorescent island diner where exhausted civilians came to discuss parking validation and Costco receipts. It is the culinary equivalent of wearing a Rolex with orthopedic sneakers. The contradiction never stops humming beneath the experience. You sit there eating beautiful fish while surrounded by an energy that feels strangely... transactional. Heavy. Casual in the least flattering way. A room with no mystery. No seduction. No gravity. Like Zippy's accidentally wandered into the tuna trade and struck gold. And on an island like Oahu, where atmosphere matters almost as much as the fish itself that becomes a real problem. Because sushi is not merely consumption. It is theater.Restraint.Texture.Whispered precision. The best sushi spots on Oahu understand this instinctively. They understand that exceptional fish alone is not enough. You are paying for transportive experience. For mood. For elegance. For the feeling that the evening exists slightly outside ordinary life. At Mitch's, the fish reaches for Tokyo while the room drags you back toward a tired strip mall off the freeway. And then there's the crowd. Not evil people. Not rude people. Just an oddly low-rent energy orbiting genuinely premium seafood. The kind of room where one table is eating remarkable otoro while another feels one argument away from discussing used-car financing over soy sauce packets. It creates dissonance. Especially considering the prices. Because at those prices, you begin comparing the full experience not merely the fish quality and that is where Mitch's stumbles hard. There are multiple sushi spots across Oahu that equal or surpass the seafood while also delivering beauty, atmosphere, intimacy, and actual emotional texture. So what remains is this strange contradiction: Mitch's serves fish far above the dignity of its own ambience Which almost makes it fascinating. Would I be back - no . You can get same and better quality fish, much better vine, better part of town for the same Price.

We ordered the short ribs, lobster appetizer, hamachi crudo and lastly sashimi moriawase to finish food palate. Lukki lemon dessert was great way to end to night. Ordered the Milk tea bouquet cocktail while my better half had water ( either way the food coma knock him out cold the rest of the night lol). To be honest, it was difficult to determine which dish was the best because the staff kept quality there despite it being busy every night since they announce the closure. Sashimi moriawase, fish was so fresh, reminded me of my time spent in Hokkaido and Sapporo. Short ribs was soft and rich in flavor.
