Contrary to its name, Poverty Beach offers a sumptuous banquet of riches. From the free street parking on the day I came (Tuesday in July) to the clean bathrooms steps from its entrance to its friendly tag seller. I paid $8 for a day tag; it's $15 for three consecutive days and less daily for longer if you plan to beach it. Being a cape, it's very windy so I put my umbrella away. The waves are strong but there are lifeguards until five daily during the season, like now.

During the ceremony they play America the Beautiful, the National Anthem and Taps. It's a great thing to witness and an honor for the families of the veterans represented. They also have a few shops and Mini golf course here. Every year I stop here there seems to be more things to do here. The old cement ship is still here too.....there seems to be LESS of this every time I visit. If you're in Cape May this is a great stop for the flag ceremony and the sunset.

Sunset Beach is a must-visit every time I go to the Jersey Cape - have watched the ship off shore slowly be reclaimed by the elements. It has also been interesting to watch the little shops slowly expand and update from year to year - now featuring plenty (usually) of parking, a mini golf course, a small but nice restaurant, nearby concrete WWII tower converted to a museum, etc. I have noticed that the Cape May Diamonds® are thinning out a bit compared to the late 70s, but there are still plenty to find - which makes this a great location to take the kids & the great thing is you don't have to spend a dime if you don't want to. Also, there is a reason for the name - great location to watch sunsets out over the bay! Highly recommended!

It was named after Lower Township Police Officer David C. Douglass, Sr. who was killed in the line of duty and the spot serves as a memorial to his legacy. Dogs are fully allowed on the beach from the day after Labor Day through the day before Memorial Day. They can also go on the beach in-season from 4pm-11am (overnight). It is unclear if dogs have to be leashed, so use caution. Watch the ferry and find some relaxation here.

We spotted this area while out on a boat the nite prior. A small beach within a short distance from the parking lot, calm water, a jetty for my husband to fish off of, and lots of shells and treasure to be found. There were 2 port-a-potties at the time of our visit and a few picnic tables by the parking lot but no frills beyond that. No lifeguards on duty. We enjoyed watching many boats go by during our peaceful, private visit. Happy to have found our new 'secret spot'

Wildwood Crest Beach hosts many families and everyone I encountered was friendly and gave you enough space for social distancing! The beach is well maintained for the traffic they receive during peak summer months! Many lifeguards on duty and at night the police patrol the beaches to make sure those walking around feel secure! I was happy to see Wildwood Crest adapting to social distancing policies-I would return in the future!
