The company has a GREAT system of communicating, they sent a text when they were en route including a photo of Zack so I knew who would be knocking on my door. Curtis and Zack took so much time sharing knowledge and answering questions, not once did I feel rushed. We talked at length about various options for both a whole home HVAC and Multi Zone Mini Splits. High Desert Air Ducto℞ is the BEST With today's heat climbing to at least 107°F, I was in a bit of a panic, when I realized that my swamp-cooler was trying to do a Hot-Air Popper number on me. I called the Air Ducto℞ and Jimmy - outstanding technician - fit me in ASAP Even with the roasting temperatures, Jimmy was kind and compassionate about my situation. He climbed to my roof and discovered that last night's 45 mph winds had plucked the access door from the swamp cooler, allowing all that outside heat to be blown straight indoors Oh, what relief It is amazing how marvelous 91°F feels, compared to the, now, outside 108°F I am so grateful to be benefiting from their money-saving Subscriber Plan! This 1 star rating is only for the ridiculous markup of Air Ductor's replacement parts. My gas furnace needed a blower motor capacitor at an additional repair cost of $250. This part is available online for $2.73 and is the 'metal can' looking part usually strapped to the blower motor housing. As I understand, this capacitor has a high failure rate and a part someone can easily have on hand. Then you would only pay the labor costs for a $100 repair bill vs. a $350 one. Maybe this is the industry standard and companies need to inflate their costs like this to stay in business. But I know people are struggling and wanted to put a little info out there so more informed decisions can possibly be made. I do want to say the Repair Technician that came out was professional, competent and provided 5 star service. They fixed my swamp cooler! My swamp cooler was loud and shutting itself off every few minutes. I had tried diagnosing problems myself but I don't know enough about swamp coolers besides checking the water pump and pads and such. I called right when they opened and they told me they had someone available right now if I wanted to wait. They came over, discovered it was the bearings and replaced both of them and had my swamp cooler back up and running in about an hour. Way faster than I expected and my swamp cooler is running much quieter and actually working now. Service was prompt, friendly and professional. They gave me a quote beforehand so I knew what I was spending. The only small drawback was I think the price was definitely on the high end. I know the labor is most of the price since bearings aren't super expensive. For those curious, total cost for replacement of the two bearings was $494 for me. (My swamp cooler is on the roof so that may have played a part). Price is a bit discounted for club members which involves a monthly fee and I didn't opt in to that. read more

Joe reminded me to ensure my air filters were new for the service call (I had some available to swap in) and proceeded to clean the coils and check refrigerant levels and voltage on the components necessary. My furnace went out on the coldest day of the year. Our regular HVAC service provider was unable to make it to Kernville from Bakersfield, due to the closure of the Kern Canyon.
