Honestly, the units need to be replaced, but since my dad can't afford that, Tanner has done a great job at maintaining the units over the years. I cut the power to the whole house in a panic, then sat there, not totally sure what to do because it was after 5 PM and rapidly getting dark, but hey. . . at least the sizzling had stopped (tiny victories). Gonzalez Electric was one of the first Yelp hits and once I saw Ed's great reviews, I gave him a call. He answered right away, was kind, listened to what happened, and said he'd be right out. Ed arrived at my place within half an hour and got to work. Ed's diagnosis of what was wrong was clear, professional, and he took the time to answer all of my questions. He even provided options for more economical vs longer term fixes. What I really appreciate though is how fair his pricing was--- the truth is that I was in a bad situation: no power, a sizzling breaker box, and a single woman alone at home in the darkness. He could have literally charged me anything and I would have probably paid it because hey, what choice did I have? But Ed didn't do that. He was VERY fair, he gave me options, he was just an all around wonderful person to work with and I am definitely saving his info for all future electrical work. He got everything fixed up before long and we are back to normal over here before I even got dinner on the stove for the night. I literally cannot say enough good things about Central California Air. I was originally working with another AC company who quoted me an absolutely crazy insane price for a to replace the ducts in my house. It was so much money that after the guy left I was struggling to not get emotional because I just had no idea how I was going to come up with those funds. I would have had to take out a 20 year loan! I decided to get a second, and a third, and a fourth, and a fifth opinion and boy am I glad I did. Let's forget about the price for a minute. The owner, Luis, is a very solid and stand-up man. He will tell you about his values and how he doesn't like to take advantage of people. It's not just talk! He backed up his words with promises by saving me $14,000.00! Imagine if I had just accepted the first quote I got from the red van guys. Literally the exact same job for $14,000.00 less. I still can't believe it. Also, no waiting. Once I agreed his team was at my house literally the next morning. The whole crew was fast, respectful, cleaned up after themselves, and my wife and I felt comfortable with them in our home. They asked me multiple times is this okay? How do you feel about that? Acceptable? Do you want us to change this? I truly felt like they wanted and valued my feedback, that my satisfaction was not only a goal but a necessity. After the job was done Luis inspected the work and pointed out some things he wanted tweaked that even I missed, which I just thought was outstanding. Luis told me to call him literally any time there is a problem, that they stand behind their work, and I believe him. I'll tell you one thing - Central California Air has a customer for life, and if you're seriously considering working with anybody else then not only are you overpaying, you're also crazy. read more

We are so fortunate to have found Central California Air among the clutter of Google listings, when during the recent blistering heat, our central air conditioner went 'kaput'. The evening weekend call was immediately answered by a real live person (imagine that!), and an appointment was scheduled, per my request, the following Monday morning. The person who had answered the phone was Luis, the actual owner himself. The recommended resolution was explained clearly along with options. Luis was mindful of our situation, and advised that it can be replaced within the next couple of days if we wished, and it was, very successfully. As luck would have it, our second unit malfunctioned (for a different reason), and Luis and his crew had the necessary part found the same day, and replaced it quickly. He was always personally available to answer any questions, or address any concerns. Wow! I cannot say enough about the quality and integrity of Central California Air and their highly professional team. I am happy to be yet another positive review regarding their excellent work. I am super happy with the job. I called about my heater not working and they showed up in 2 hours. The guy was super friendly and wasn't bothered at all with my boys' curious nature. He quickly evaluated the system and determined that the fan motor needed to be replaced. I asked whether he would have to leave to get the part, but he already had the correct motor on his truck. He replaced it immediately, and the entire process--from my initial call to having the air conditioner running again--was probably no more than an hour and a half to two hours. The price was very reasonable, and Ruben was friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. It was an excellent experience from start to finish. Called Lara's, they came the next morning and for $890 I had my ac back. Most of that was Freon. Both workers were very polite and had everything fixed and tidy in about an hour.
