When I stepped up to the counter, I told Mallory the Sub Maker that I'd never been to a JM's before and she took great care to explain everything to me, even going so far as to tell Oliver, the other sub-maker behind the counter, when he asked if I wanted my sandwich "Mike's Way" that I had no idea what he was talking about since I'd never been there before. Now that's good customer service, right? Looking out for your customers! I ordered a medium Original Italian (provolone cheese, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami, and pepperoni) with added pickles and pepperoncinis, as well as a small fountain drink. The sandwich was huge! I was sure I wouldn't be able to eat the entire thing but I was long past hungry and found myself inhaling the whole sandwich before I even knew it. All the cheeses and meats are sliced fresh for each cold sandwich and placed on the roll of your choice: white, wheat, and rosemary parmesan (I chose the rosemary parmesan just because and I wasn't disappointed at all). Since this was my inaugural experience at JM's, I decided to go the whole way with Mike's Way (onions, lettuce, tomatoes, olive oil blend, red wine vinegar, oregano, and salt) plus the added pickles and pepperoncinis. The bottom of the sub was a little damp (not soggy) from all that "juice" but it was perfectly fine. The parking at this location can be a lit of a challenge but it's well worth the hassle of finding a parking spot just to have one of these amazing subs, made up by a couple of people who want to do good by their customers. That Mallory deserves a raise! The inside of the shop was clean, sandwich prep area was clean, table tops were clean, restroom was clean, self-service fountain drink area clean. (If I had one suggestion to the staff, it would be to put a trash container of some kind near the fountain drinks for people to throw their straw wrappers in. For some reason, people can't seem to walk 5' to a trash container and will just leave their trash on the counter.) I'll be going back here for sure!

For a main course, I went with the Spicy Jalapeno Burger, but opted for Crispy Chicken, instead of a hamburger patty. The burger was massive, and consisted of multiple crispy chicken tenders, instead of one large chicken patty -- which is all good, but did make it tricky to eat, as the multiple pieces wanted to slide around. It was very good, but I think I would try the actual burger next time. I chose French fries for my side, and was disappointed that they were "battered" fries, which are not my favorite. The portion was also a little on the skimpy side. I would definitely come back again, even if there are a few small things that keep me from giving top marks.
